Nice level pack.I never had so much action since RHG came out. The layout in the levels is very good, although i have come acros some tiles that where`nt proparly used. But, like some people said before me, the pickups are way to many, especialy food. I got at least one suger rush in each level. I
remember of geting even about 6 suger rushes in Backstreet Rabbits. But besides that it is a very good level
pack. Btw, like i said before, this is NOT the bigest level pack for single player. The bigest is Rabbit honer guard(it has 70 levels).

Btw, another jazz2 fan, the first level was Spike beach. :-0

Nah, I’ll just find someone hosting it. Much simpler. :)

(Though just from seeing his other works, I’m tempted to rate this, but that WOULD be dishonest.)

Nift-o rific pack `ya got here Blade. These are some of the best battle levels i`ve ever seen on this site, or anywhere else! The design is almost perfect and its got smooth gameplay. There are a few dead ends, but thats not so bad. The music selection is great. Only almost every music file stops playing at one point, and then you dont hear no music at all until you die, or go to the next level, but i guess thats not your fault. Keep up the good work! The only thing that keeps you from geting a 10.0 is that it doesnt have as much feel as real clasic levels like SandStrand O’ Hazes by Spy for example. Yousee, when youm play levels like that, with the music and stuff, you can actuely feel some sort of something, and that..er…feeling is realy great. The levels that had that most where to me the Glacier levels, mainly because of the excelent music selection.

I`ll say! Here, ladies `n gederbong, we have another great tileset and level release by Blade! The new tileset ā€œForestā€ is another awesome tileset release by Blade, one of the elite tileset and battle level builders of the Jazz 2 comunity. The tileset somehow reminds me of a world from a game i once had on an old PC(windows3.1) called Charley the duck. Seeing the levels just sealed the deal for me. They are another ad-on for the awesome Blades battle pack volume 2, wich now counts about 34 levels! (34`zm right ey?). My only complaint is that i dont realy like the added factory thingys in Wasteland. They look like giant paper bags with straws in them to me:-D. But apart from that, everyone go download this ad-on to Blades battle pack NOW!!

Well I could say this with one word but that would be a little lazy wouldn’t it , well on the other hand I am a bit lazy o well , oops I got drifted of back to my review than…

Well I can’t rate the old stuff because their are just to many levels/tilesets to rate but I tell you they are all great.

The Tileset set is great and beatiful as I expected =p , but this time it’s also huge. I especially love the mountanious background with the trees and stuff it just looks beautiful.
The bushes and well all the other stuff look really great.
The masking is also really well done, including the secret messages.
The tileset gives me like the more adult version of carrottus/diamandus.

The 4 battle levels are again amazing.
The leveldesign and gameplay are good and the event deplacement is also well deployed. The levels are once again great.

Well I have to say the music is really great, but I don’t think it fits with this tileset it would fit wih other ones though.Well of course this is my opionion, you’ll might like or love it like Aiko did.

Once again the pack is great and the upgraded version ( thats this one) is even better.

Should I download this you ask? well if you won’t download this I think you need to see a doctor or a brainsurgion or something.

and if a may add this:
this might me a good idea for a futuretileset BLADE. Make one of Asia with like mountains and japanese houses forest walls and stuff. And I would also make more stuff for the fore ground like in your Aztec tileset (look at my level ancient aztec)with those vines. Well of course this isn’t easy to make at all but you might be able to do it.

Breathless, thats what i am. Again. Every time again. Apart from the cheap rhyme, i really can’t say much about this because it’s always the same: Blade’s tilesets, levels and the music choices are close to complete perfectness. Everything fits too good to just write a few lines about it. You have to SEE, HEAR and PLAY it.

However, his new tileset called ā€œForestā€ doesn’t make an exception: its larger than ever (1010 tiles!!!) and looks incredibly beautiful. Mainly, it shows woody landscapes, trees, mountains, a red flower and so on. The set has all important elements of a high class tileset like signs, vines, spikes, destructible scenery and the whole look gives an impression of a wonderful oilpainting. The masking is, like always, very good (found the ā€œsecretā€ message? :-).

And once again, Blade shows us that he is also an elite level builder. ā€œFirestorm Forestā€, ā€œForbidden Landā€, ā€œGreelandsā€ and ā€œFragile Natureā€ are the new levels that give us a clear impression of what you can do with the awesome ā€œForestā€ tileset. Design, weapon, spring and platform placement and eyecandy are of the same super high quality in all four levels and i really don’t find anything to complain here. Check out those maps if you want to learn something about level design.

The music track ā€œStatic Universeā€ by Mr. Stewe is quite dance/techno based but i think its still close to my beloved demo style…it just sounds tracked somehow (in short: i love it :-).

Well, as this is an ā€œupdateā€ to Blade’s previous Battlepack, i can’t rate the other (old) levels (or as a whole pack with nine tilesets, 32 awesome battle levels and eight rocking music files)…if i would do that it’d probably be a 9.5 or something. Anyways, you know it already: —THiS iS A MUST DOWNLOAD FOR EVERY JAZZ2 FAN—. You have to love Blade’s style. He’s by far one of the most talented guys in this little ā€œcommunityā€. Let’s virtually bow down to him by download and hosting his levels and tilesets!

I found only two secret levels, but the second one’s tileset was not included and I didn’t have it! Har-rumph.
I had to go back to my saved game 5 or so levels back, which made my points be less. (Same with lives)
Food was amazingly plentiful (I’m really surprised some levels didn’t have too many events), the gem barrels and crates…. well… They didn’t need to be that full. :P
And an invincibility right before Bilsy? I didn’t even have to do a single evasive manuever, I just sat there and he died!

Wow, I really sound like I hate the thing. ;)

I guess we are used to it already: Finnish Jazzer Blade is not only one of the most talented tileset makers but also an ace level designer.
ā€œEverlasting Fightā€ contains three levels (two Battle mode and one Treasure Hunt map) using three different tilesets, namely ā€œHeavenā€, ā€œEgyptā€ and ā€œEgypt Nightā€ by Agama. All three are SUPERB tilesets!!!
The design is of the levels is close to perfectness, like an example level ā€œHow to design a levelā€. Weapon and gem placement, platform structures, everything is arranged to make the gameplay as fluent as possible.
Also, the author tried to use as many elements as possible from Agama’s COMPLETELY BREATHTAKiNG tilesets (definitely some of the best i’ve ever seen!) and that worked out great. The result is some really stunning eyecandy.
Nevertheless, we should not forget that Blade only made the levels but not the beautiful looking tileset (not these ones, at least) so i ā€œonlyā€ give out eight points here :-)
On a side note: actually i don’t like it when the music is missing in the ZiP archive. But somehow, Blade gave good reasons in his nice readme file…and the pack just rocks…so i don’t care too much this time :-)

To sum it up, this is a great level pack dedication from Finland to the Czech Republic (from one tileset genius to the other) and i’m darn proud that those two artists are with us on Jazz2. Hope they’ll stay for a long time. This is A MUST DOWNLAOD, without any doubt.

P.S.: Blade, would you mind not posting news and advertisements for your upcoming stuff here? You could use the J2O Forum for that purpose.[This review has been edited by Aiko]

Wow. This was the most interesting level I’ve ever seen, despite the few dead ends. The ammo was placement was good enough to think strategy and patterns. I was mpressed then like about 16 people join this level in a server. Great level color, and great music chosen!

I recognize something in the music, ā€œChallenger’s Courseā€ by Zaac/Zalem. There’s a sample of Shodan’s voice from System Shock 1. (Shodan is a computer virus that raided the Citadel Station.) Man, how I love to hear that voice. Shodan says the freakiest things :P (_)

Blade’s level pack is has an excellent arena battles and people should atleast play these levels on the server, but we should download the whole pack for the great, chosened music and all the levels.

ā€œWoodlandsā€, the brand-new tileset/level/pack addition by finnish master Blade, consists of 410 very good looking, brown shaded tiles. It has all the useful structures you need for a good level (platforms, walls, diagonals, vines, poles, signs, spikes, scenery blocks and so on…) and it really looks awesome. Not to forget background structures (dunes and some textured stuff for layer 8). The masking is very good, too. Everything is just great, what else can i say?

Blade also included four fresh levels to expand his already large, breathtaking Battle Pack. The levels look a bit too similar to each other, but otherwise there is nothing to complain. Design and eyecandy are just cool. The background music simply rocks (Demo style, extremely oldskool, tracked by a french scene guy called Zaac of Zalem). The atmosphere is Blade’s levels is always incredible…the mixture of tileset and music makes it very special and enjoyable.

Personally, i find all of Blade’s creations extremely impressing (i’m really a fan of him). They definitely have their place in the all-time-Top 10 of Jazz Jackrabbit 2. This update makes Blade’s Battle Pack even better! MUST DOWNLOAD FOR EVERYONE (8.5 may sound a bit overrated but i just love Blade’s style and as i said, he’s one of my favourite creators around)!

Everything in the zip file is of high quality, and I highly reccomend downloading this even though the size may be a bit too big for slow modem people. My only complaints are that the Woodlands tileset could use a bit more variation in tiles that can be stood on, and that one or two of the levels had a few flaws where there were dead ends in the corners.

These tilesets remind me a lot of LeSmash. He’s not around anymore though.

hmm, what’s that of one sugar rush every level? personally, i had at least three of ā€˜em every level. in ā€œBackstreet rabbitsā€, i even initiated a new rush before the old one finished. that’s the only thing on this episode that bothered me a bit: it’s so easy (an episode where i end up with 86 lives is easy in my opinion). still, this episode is some great work. the eyecandy is almost perfect. for some reason, the game crashed every time i found a secret level, i found three of ā€˜em and i couldn’t enter one (but that’s probably because of my evil and twisted computer). just cut down a bit on pickups next time, and it will be perfect. Great job! :)
