Lark! You forgot to put him into the credits! You used his melody from Toxice Eclipse, if you don’t know…

EDIT: Thanks. ;P

Yes, powers are easy to find on purpose, I hate those secrets, when people playing it first time can make absolutely no roast. But of course, power-ups are things what give your weapon double damage, so of course, it can’t be so easy to get. And one more thing I forgot – I made it in one day ;)

Aww aww aww… First remixes. Almost always suck and are totally unlistenable. In most of cases they are just bad resamples or milion of unsynthesized channels at once. I thought I know what I can expect…

Whoa Whoa Whoa!!! I suck :). And you rock, apparentely. Of course, it has features of begginer’s mix and 95 % of people recognise that this is newbie’s piece, but it does not mind. Because this is just great start, Crusader.

No offtuned channels, original melodies, good samples, nice effects, awesome background melody… Not everyone can vaunt of so good start.

I think every pattern is fine, although it doesn’t sound so good altogether. Too many only-actual-lead breaks just… break it. Samples, as I said are chosen very well, original melodies are nice also. But the thing I had really problems to put with, was the rhythm. Thanks to fast rhythm (what’s well), there are too fast beats. Hi-hats work similary like clasps, normally, with difference of that clasps are normally on second, not first beat… Clasps here work as ordinar hi-hats, with some oww moving by two rows. This sounds bad in this tune, just because you are begginer, but I think when you will play with rhythm a while, you will be able to do just fantastic rhythms.

The tune is very, very short, has only 1:22, what’s really dislong. During that, tune is grading, (bass, beats, back, hi-hats, clasps, lead) and the climax is about 0:45, where lead starts. That’s pretty late, but it’s okay here. Cause lead begins to be repetitive and one little really nice modify is only at the end, after playing five same lead melodies from Fanolint, which itself is pretty repetitive… Song reminds me Dr Eggman a lot, it will be apparentely because of the samples, which Eggman and Crusader use.

(+) Great start in remixing
(+) Good, very well modified background melody
(+) Harmony
(+) Samples
(-) Breaks between patterns
(-) Rhythm
(-) Length
(-) Repetitive at the end

You see rating. Why only 4? Cause I must be fair, I review tunes, not artists. Really, not everyone get four points for his first mix. Just keep practising, and you’ll be great. You have talent, I am sure. But don’t forget. Practising.

And download recommendation? Sure, if you want to hear original melodies, which don’t hurt to ears. But… Expect begginer work. Although great, still begginer.

To Crusader: So go download it all. It’s all uploaded on lot of places, Jazz2Online is no except. Or, if you have original Jazz1, you can listen to PSM music in ModPlug Tracker. You must keep remixing, I really see that you have talent, in difference of someones…

Hmm… Another Lark’s mix.

Well. It seems to be made for Jazz2 levels, it has well-working loop and no ending ;). And that’s well. We don’t have many of them. But… of what quality..?

Firstly, Lark’s Short Song Syndrom approved to be real. I think all of his recent works (Cerebrum, Tyrian the Level mix, Rock Garden Mix and this (in difference of other, longer tunes, there is not written “Lark” in title of song ;p). Length of this one is 1:26, how everyone of you admits, isn’t much.

Okay, let’s jump into the song. Hmm… Like almost all Technoir remixes, it begins with its background melody. Alex’s Diamondus voice with quiet reversed cymbal and snares… We’re in song. Beats, snares, hi-hats… But… It sounds like I am somewhere in middle. Main Technoir lead is playing, but… from middle. Lark then modified that one lead pattern to nice, well continuous melody. But still, and that’s big minus, we have no lead beginning. And that minds.

Okay. After this comes again original and then (differentely) modified lead. Then comes background with percussion, where can be heared that those two backgrounds are a bit off-tuned. Normal man does not catch it, but after I think 20th listening… It minds… But only a bit, I am not sure if someone different will hear it (just if he will want).

After break, there are orchestra hits patterns. With same orchestra hits samples and Robert’s vocal as in original. Hmm. On rows where are those orchestra hits are also cymbals, which makes the tune more alive, but after ending of those five cymbals it’s more dead than normally. That minds.

It’s once repeated and then lead ends by five radical orchestra hits. Background is still playing and it makes perfect loop.

My review now looks like I hate Lark or this tune. That’s not truth. I just seem it as average.

Tempo is okay, with reservation to hi-hats, repeating every two rows. It’s a bit slow, too… But okay.

Samples… When main passage of song is made from original samples… That’s just bad. But all others works well in this song. Very well.

(+) Most of samples
(+) Lark’s new melodies
(+) Perfect loop
(-) Lead begins in the middle
(-) Original orchestra hit sample
(-) It’s a bit off-tuned
(-) Too short

Now. Download recommendation… Yes or not..? It’s on you. It could be usable for games, which it’s dedicated to. it’s not so poor. But don’t expect hit.

Winamp classic skin.
Nice, but has few bugs which make this a bit unusable thing. For example, no border around the seeker bar, plus it’s too light. There is some empty box, which looks just plain ugly.
Going back to the default Winamp Modern Skin.

Noticed “rate if you like” to deserve high rating… So I am scared of that you’ll get N/A, not 10…

Crysilis… Not an under-mixed song…

Power of this song is generally in samples. As soon as song starts, they just rocks. Main background melody sample quality is terrific. Then comes next and next… In this way, it’s totally proffessional work.

Then, they are some little changes (to the good) in tune, like doubling of tone, moving tone 2 rows before.

Rhythm is fantastic, although bit repetitive. It’s made from normal loops, but they are distributed in awesomely sounding intervals.

(+) Samples, samples, samples
(+) Rhythm
(-) Maybe high-pitched sample sometime
(-) Nothing extra except samplec changed

This tune deserves high rating mainly for sounding, for samples, for rhythm. It’s when somebody has good sample database ;). Download recommendation.

Okay, here is mine review.

Firstly, I must say this is your best JJ remix ever, JSZ Jazz. Difference, what’s between the original and this remix is big as Mount Everest placed at the highest mountain in the world (err… what’s the name of it?). And thanks to God, to the better.

Okay, we have totally awesome new melodies perfectly fitting into original song. And here’s the problem. That melody is played by too over-pitched piano, it hurts ears sometimes. My ears survived, but what ears of others???

Harmony is okay in 95 % of song, just sometime it doen not pan out. And this is good, cause this is JSZ Jazz’s mix.

Sample choice is delicious, bass line and piano (except that high-pitched sample 8) are without any reservations. Rhythm is stylish, it’s made very well.

(+) New melodies fitting to original
(+) Samples
(+) Rhythm
(-) High-pitched piano

So, this piece gets download recommendation from me. It’s for originality, for sounding, for that how the remix should look. Good also for games.

TIP (Tip mark gets music with 8+ rating)
