This level is special, because ive had it for a few years. It was one of the first levels i downloaded on this site when i first saw it. So after all this time, i will finally rate it.

Even though tubelectric is a bit overused, i wont deduct marks for that. The obstacles are very nifty, not just springs, but many others as well. The tile placement is ok, i liked it a lot. The layout is great, many idfferent obstacles in the race which doesnt let it get boring as fast. The placement of events is also great, good use of suckers btw. The pinball is also good. This is a well made race and deserves a 7.2.

Ah, time for my unscheduled long review

First, you’ve got the tilesets mixed Magoo :P But im not taking marks off for that because it has nothing ot do with the level.

Some people say music is part of the rating, some dont, im in beetween. Music is not a big part, but if you dont have any music at all……. The music is excellent here so +3.0 here

The weapon placement is ok, nothing special, hidden warp to seeker powerup, and a few other powerups. Its ok, +1.0

Gameplay, well this level is roomy, and medium sized. It barely has any narrow passages, i dont think it has any actually, and thats good for battle levels. Its easy to move around in, and non-confusing, good job here +2.5

Eyecandy: This one of the few flaws, the eyecandy is poor, and there is barely any. There is some at least, but it could do with some improvement. +.5

The rest, overall, this level has good vine/spring placement etc. but that is part of gameplay, so most of the mark goes there, the rest equals up to +.5 more so……….

It all adds up to a generous 7.5 and an overall donwload reccomendation.

Luv the music

I don’t know why MaGoo doesn’t make many levels. He’s very good at it.

This level is not at all too big. While it may not be perfect for one-on-ones, it is certainally a great level for battles with many people in it. It’s hard to make a level that’s “too big.” It happens, but only when the creator is really trying to make it bigger than it should be.

Layout is awesome. Navigation was a breeze, and this can be attributed to the many platforms out in the open. There were few dead ends, and nothing really got in the way of smooth gameplay. I like levels that are large but have high quality, and this level certainally falls in that category. Very nice job.

Weapon placement was very good, but not as good as navigation. In some situations, there was ammo kind of clumped together, but that was very rare and I never noticed it outside of JCS. Levels with many platforms don’t usually get high marks from me, but this is an exception.

As for other items, they were also placed well. Some of the non-ammo items were near ammo, others far away, but it turned out to be a great balance and I have absolutely no complaints in this area. Very good too. Much like the rest of this level.

While Labrat isn’t my favorite tile set, far from it in fact, I still really liked this level. It didn’t remind me much of any of the other handful of “classics” that have used Labrat, so I won’t downgrade it for that. Technically, there were a few eyecandy glitches, but not enough to make much of a difference.

My only other real complaint was that the level lacked a next level setting. I didn’t knock this level for having the setting incorrect, but it would have been nice to be able to host the level without it crashing whenever someone one. It would be handy if you were to reupload the level sans this glitch.

All in all, this is a fine level which prompted a way-too-long review. It’s detailed, yet still big enough so I don’t feel boxed in. The author did an excellent job using the Labrat tileset, and should make more levels. A very commendable effort which should become a classic level. There is no dobut in my mind that this deserves a download recommendation.

I thought I would go insane if I saw another Diamondus level, but I will make an exception here. Eyecandy is superb, weapon placement is very good, and the overall feel of the level is good. There are a few graphics glitches, but nothing big. I would recommend a download.

Small nice level, some places are a bit crappy but no matter I really cant rate it lower then 8, anyway lets go on with the review. Eyecandy is very good, all usefull tiles are used out the tileset. Ammo placement is quite good too, youve used mix’s of ammo which I actually like much. And maybe too much Power Ups, like I said the level is small and kind of crappy so you really dont need much power ups for it. Anyway together its a very nice battle level. Download recommendation from me and a 8. Well Done.

A nice battle level by MR Magoo. It makes good use of the labrat tileset. Tileset use sorta reminds me of Shadow’s Slab Ratz level, which is certainly a good thing. Flow is also pretty good. The music is somewhat anoying if you hear it for the first time, but it fits very good in the level. Weapens and powerups are well devided across the entire level. I can’t really find any major bugs in here, so this is a fairly short review, as you can see. Download recomendation from me.

Just to let you know, the few “deadends” on the level contains ammo or something of use to fill it up, so that isn’t really considered a deadend.

Very good lvl. It’s got nice eyecandy and weapons placement. The gameplay is quite good too although the lvl has got way too many deadends. I give BattleOut 6 a 7.5.

And I’ll write a longer review later…

Oh, there is not much to say about “Battle Out V”. Diamondus is overused, the design is pretty good (many platforms and very open, as Violet already tried to say) and there is a fair amount of layer work. It is not too large so it will make a good and fun battleground for servers with five or less players.
The music is by a german tracker and yeah, it’s nice. Still, not favourite track and nothing very outstanding. Like the whole level. I’m not even exactly sure if we still need more and more of this type of level. Sorry.
Nevertheless, “Battle Out V” definitely gets a DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION from me. It is a pretty good level.

P.S.: The next level setting is missing/wrong. Not good. Here’s my 6.5 for that (und the fact you used Diamondus because you were “lazy” :-)…

I really like it but I think you should never use TNT in a battle lvl. (Just like the DBZ character said) I don’t like lvl’s that are to small too…..=)

Yah, Violet said the most already, dont use TNT in battle games. And its maybe bit crappy lvl. You could make it a bit bigger. I think this is a 7.5 worth. Maybe for all that work =P[This review has been edited by Super Saiyan]

Gameplay: No real problems here.
Design: Seen better, seen worse. It’s a bunch of platforms. Some are largish.
Weapon Placement: It’s got TNT. Never use TNT in Battle Levels. And I’ve seen better powerups.
Eyecandy: I think the leaves in the foreground are too fast. And the background could be slowed a bit, as well.
Cows: None.
Summary: This is a Diamondus Night level, with nothing special, but nothing bad. It’s rather usual, really.

Not bad for a race level. Actually, I kinda liked it. It flows well with a slight challenge, uses decent eye-candy, and is a kinda fun to play in. I wouldn’t really know about the ammo and all (maybe needs more?). It looks good enough for a download if you like race levels.

“Heck Hole” is one of those 100*50-tiles-battle-levels from the mass production you can’t say much about. It was a good idea to use the “D-a-m-n” tileset (because i like it), it has a neat layout (platforms all the way, very open and so on), the weapon placement is okay (except the ice, maybe) and the lack of eyecandy is obvious.
Really, what else is there to say? Battle fans and others, add “Heck Hole” to your collection. It is good.

Heck Hole isn’t a bad level. The number of weapons is ok, so is the weapons placement. But you need to work on the eyecandy.
