Will be a lot easier to do this with perfect result as follows (I made the latest, still unavailable, version of Castube this way):-

1) Get 1.10o JCS from whereever you can get it
2) Screenshot the tiles and place them in some drawing program like Mspaint (you may want to rearrange the tiles in the JCS layer view if you like and add tiles to them to suit JJ2’s needs)
3) Screenshot the masks the same way and recolor them so that anything that must be unmasked is black and all masks are a color that doesn’t even come close to black
4) Get the palette by making a screenshot in the game with F12 and load that palette into the screenshotted tileset (and masks! those palettes should be the same) with a tool like Jasc Paint Shop pro (be sure the JJ2 palette is correct and that transparent stuff is either plain black or this one weird color)
5) Optionally, rearrange the palette colors for better use of palette events
6) Compile the tileset ^^ yer done

This will get a perfect tileset with awesomely full support for JJ2, as you must remember BC lacks any event tiles. Also the palette events and other stuff will look exactly how you want it.

Nice work anyway ^^

J

P.S. You may want to start converting JJ2 tilesets into 1.10o ones already as BCCS is coming up ;p

I made a combination of the three battle levels too (even before this one) and I must say that you could’ve spent a lot more time on the eyecandy and tiling of the level edges (just look at mine, I frequently host it in the RR Server)… Also I didn’t really think the springs were bad. The different Battle levels could have been connected better though.

it’s possible to get out of the trap with spaz..

anyway, I like the idea of the level, but the part above the bridges at the top of the level could use some exits downwards. also, you could play a bit with the lightning (like you make some holes in the background and put a steady light event on it).. the idea is nice, but this level could certainly use some fixing. Also, I really didn’t like the powerup room. you’d better move them around in the level

I wonder which functions are server-only and which ones also affect clients in the server. Then I’ll edit this and make a huge review :)

Great level! Really nice eyecandy, funny ways to get the powerups and full NRG carrot, good gameplay. I don’t think there’s that much ammo, and I don’t really find this level that big (maybe because of the big open areas), but still the size and amount of ammo is just perfect! I like the two extra normal carrots too, they’ll make it impossible to be absolutely certain of the enemy’s health if you lost track of him. It’s something I miss in other levels, really.

One thing: I don’t really like the position of the warp targets of the warps to get to the other side of the center tube. It would be better, if their targets were in the top areas with the bevelled ceiling (next to the rooms where the carrots are).

What else can I say? I really enjoyed this level and I’m certain this will be as overplayed as Jungle’s Edge is. I’m gonna duel someone in this today for sure! Good work!

I see you are using my tileset

1) without permission,
2) in beta versions,
3) while it’s not released,
4) not that I knew of,
5) without giving me any credit here?

OMG. CRUEL.

Kindly asking to either remove the tileset from this pack or the pack from this site.

EDIT: Sucer agreed to remove either one of them. Go ahead FQ. Quote: “I don’t care about that download anyways.”

EDIT2: I have released Castube. If you update v0.10.4 to v1.0.3, I won’t bother you anymore.

hmm try converting Carrottus music. It completely messes up. I tried to play all of the conversions but most of them skipped patterns. I’m waiting for v0.4! No rating from me cuz it doesnt really work correctly, but it is too hard to rate this bad…
