My computer’s acting slow, so I have trouble actually playing this, but I have a tip: try putting some difficulty in the level.

Despite the eyecandy, hurt events, open areas and size, I do like this level. It kind of feels like Battle2, though quite a bit larger, and with a few too many powerups.
I can’t really find too much to say about this, other then that you should never use hurt events in multiplayer, but the level’s still interesting (though electro blaster and a carrot aren’t the best coin warp results)

I’m too lazy to write an extensive review describing every single tile, but I’ll give you an idea.

Think Blade’s Forest, only with mushrooms instead of trees, and lots of other stuff.
Oh well.
Anyway, this has a lot of great stuff, especially the sucker tubes, except it doesn’t support T or + tubes, just -, | and |’‘ ones.
It also uses what is one of the only good palette modifications around (“Woodlands” by Blade is the other that comes to mind), as well as lots of stuff. Basically my only complaint is that the insides of tree tunnels don’t look too good.
I even bothered to wait the two minutes to takes to load TSF tilesets to look at this one in JCS.

I’ll admit, I was skeptical Craccoboy could turn out a good test after TaD and Cracco Practice. I was kind of right.
Training is easy enough. Jump from one hook to another.
Arrow’s about the same, only there are a few sucker tubes.
Turbulance is annoying, because although it’s filled with wind and floatups, there’s no indication of where they are, no fans or anything. You have to keep going through until you know where things are, and even then, you must battle the force known as Momentum, when the wind suddenly stops. Not to mention the orange warps, which are the same color as the area of the textured background they’re over, so I had to turn off textured background for it.
Foo has invisible walls. However, it’s still relatively easy to figure out where they are, which I guess is why it’s called Foo.
I hate Freeze. To really be able to see in it, you have to have 16 color one, which causes lag. Even so, the balloons and freeze enemies are close to invisible. But if you’ve ever wanted to vent rage on freeze enemies, this is your chance.
Illusion was probably the best, not to mention one of the two I appreciated. Walls keep appearing and disappearing, so you must time your jumps.
Bounce was odd, as despite it saying Spaz was the required rabbit, I found I could only do it as Jazz. But it involves pinball flippers, bumpers, and balloons. Of course.
Avoidance was Annoyance, as you must avoid the balloons. What exactly balloons are is obviously open to debate, as you can get hit by not going near them, while not hit when you’re right next to them. Remember, balloons must be at least three tiles apart to go between them.
Warped was Training, only with more warps that textured background must be turned off for.
Darkness (not dorkness) was the other one of the two I appreciated. It’s generally dark (dark green, for some reason), except every so often a light flashes and you see the next balloon or something.
Blastzone was boring. I’ve seen more original uses of TNT and Bombs in a foo race.
And in Invl, you must find the INVISIBLE balloons. Joy. Fortunately, none of the balloons are too far apart, nor in places that make no sense.
The whole thing, with one or two exceptions, was kind of easy.
Some things that could have added to the enjoyment were balloons that appeared and disappeared, SCEs (for people playing online) and trigger scenery.
I’m undecided on a rating, as I haven’t eaten today and am thus likely to rate anything too low. I’ll probably come back to it later.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]

Think Heaven, only without all the decorations. Skygazer’s like that. A small temple like place in the clouds, complete with clouds you can walk on (the best walkon clouds I’ve ever seen, btw)
Sadly, this tileset should probably be only used for small levels, as it gets boring fast. There are no spikes, text signs or exit signs, either, so no real single player possibilities.
Stilllllll, this is a nice, if kind of boring tileset, with nice background eyecandy, and most of the basic blocks. (Though unfortunately the textured background doesn’t work)

There are both horizontal and vertical poles, and all the animations in the tileset were in the original Nippius, causing it take forever to convert. (The slopes were also added, btw)

btw, JSZ. Both Fanolint and Holidaeus were made by various people. Also, Diamondus/Tubelectric/Medivo didn’t come with JJ2, unless you count the JJ2 versions. They were made by Toxic Bunny, Newspaz, and Ice Wolf/CelL.

“School Wars”, using SchoolV2 by MidN, has the school in the middle, and playground areas on either side. The playground areas are fairly flat.
The school itself is mainly a flat area with a room above it, except there are some warps to other rooms. The whole thing is rather boring and the ammo is incredibly sparse.
Work a little more on the wars and a bit less on the school, I should say.

Once more, Bjarni is back, this time with a three level levelpack depicting life in Hell. (No, Jazz/Spaz did not go to heaven) He didn’t use Inferno, or Dam Nation, but Medivo, which is interesting.
At first, the levels seem more straight platform covered in enemies stuff. However, Bjarni depicts his knowledge with sucker tubes, a player detecter (sadly, it doesn’t QUITE work for Jazz, test your levels more throughly, Bjarni) and fitting together tiles.
Although the eyecandy seems ripped from Medivo, I could be wrong. And to add to the levels, you must fly across a pit of rotating spike bolls (sadly, you can fly over them) and right ravens while jumping from stomp block to stomp block.
Download this if you want, or if you have a Bjarni level collection.

Anyway, the level is improved eyecandy wise, and the gameplay’s different. Still, it seems like it was easier before..?
I’ll raise the rating a bit, though. Nice try, but I advise making a new level next time, and not refurnishing this one again.

Tileset use: Poor. No background eyecandy (all used for walls), half the basic blocks are used wrong, and the author couldn’t figure out the ramps.
Difficulty: Well, I’ll admit I died. That was because I fell into a pit that it took me forever to get out of (though it Is possible) and had spikes at the bottom. Other then that, the author tried to make it hard by inserting lots of enemies everywhere.
Gameplay: Not too good. You have to keep scanning the floor for collapse scenery.
Design: Decent.
Extremely difficult? Not really.

Graphics are fine. I’m not going to mention graphics.
Lots of tiles. Huge amount of sucker tubes, not to mention vines, hooks, H-poles, no spikes, no text signs (though there are plenty of things to use as spikes), no exit signs, not quite working ladders, basic blocks, eyecandy, etc.
Masking’s pretty bad.
Usability decent, even though for all the backgrounds you have to use layer 5. 6 and 7, after all, are taken by background apartment buildings.
Most of the tiles can be found in schoolv2, this is really giving everything a 3D look, with mixed results. Makes things look better, but it does make the tileset harder to use then it is already. The tile placement’s fine, though.
The author went a little overboard on gradients, some textures on the characters instead of gradients might have been nice. Ok, so I did mention graphics.
Despite how cool this is, I can’t honestly say I really like it. It’s mostly made well, it has lots of tiles, but still I don’t like it. Can’t put my finger on why.

Despite my previous guess, I actually enjoyed this level. True, it’s a bit short. True, the eyecandy’s not good. But it’s.. original, shall we say.
The first level is the main level. It’s a basic, short level, but with a story. Devan has created an army of huge megaphones (yes, the background eyecandy in this pack is used as some of the platforms) that will hypnotize rabbits. When you shoot them, coins come out, which is quite handy, as you need some coins (not all of them) to finish the level.
The end of the first level consists of a combination Robot/Bolly boss. Nothing special. The second level is a boss level with Devan, who has turned on the megaphones. All the walls are megaphones, and you’re pretty much constantly hit by smoke rings. Still, you must fight Devan.
Don’t let the eyecandy throw you off, you could have some fun from this. But only shoot the megaphones once.

We hold this truth to be self evident: that you can not go wrong to download Chandie’s stuffness.
Six winter levels. Understatement. The first two levels use the un-named HH94 tileset, and are fun.
The second two levels use Candion, and are also fun.
The third two levels use Bloxonius, and are not quiiiite so fun, but the end boss makes up for it.

Each level has one type of ammo, and other then gun crates, it sticks to it. The coin warp contains a powerup for it.
In order to get all the coins, you must enter a special warp leading to “Secret levels” of sorts. You turn into frogs, you jump from windy platform to windy platform, you fly around. You get coins as reward, but I quote Harry Potter: “Thief, you have been warned, beware, of finding more then treasure there.” They’re fun, except for the one in Bloxonius’s first level, which I don’t think much of.
However, all tradition breaks down in the last level, where you get powerups for most of the previous ammo types, and there is no secret level (or if there is, I didn’t see it). However, this too is all made up for at the end, with what has got to be the most original end boss in existance.
Chandie, along with his/her other skills, is an expert at tileset use. From the blocks in Bloxonius to the candy bars in Candion, you’ll find no real tile bugs (or if you did, you were looking carefully).

There are a few bad points, however. As I already said, I didn’t like the secret level in Bloxonius’ first level. The enemies are a little boring (Nothing but XMas enemies, with occasional dragons) and there’s a subplot about dragons which is left unconcluded. And it’s all a bit too easy at times.

Still, if you download one single player level pack with six levels this month, this is probably the best choice.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM][This review has been edited by Violet CLM]

Blackraptor. This is the fourth tileset of Hocus Pocus, and thus includes the background of the fourth tileset. Those other backgrounds were in other parts, not that one, so they were not included. Danyjel.
CAN’T YOU READ? This is a conversion of the FOURTH place in Hocus Pocus. The first three have been done before. This is not an entire game tileset!
@Firesword.
Sigh. Look, I told you. Greenkiller’s sets were the first, second and third places in Hocus Pocus (episode 1). This is the fourth, not the entire game.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]

I’m not sure, but these levels really seem like assault levels with enemies.
The levels consist of a long path (that goes in many directions), often you have to go somewhere to get a trigger zone. The enemy placement is ok, if nothing special, but the levels get rather confusing at times. (I just completely lost interest around the fourth level)
The eyecandy, except in the last level, is almost non existant. Paticularly in the Heaven level, where eyecandy is the norm. The background is sheer black, and it has the actual background in layer 5 in some places.
Due to all the doors closing behind you, you can get stuck. For example, again, the heaven level. (Temple of… Valdor, was it?)
The only goodies other then carrots are some coconuts in I think the second Aztec level, where you follow the path of coconuts to stay unhurt.
Apparently the author has added a lot of goodies, but I have no wish to download and play these things again. I’ll raise the rating a bit as benefit of doubt, but I still think I’d hate to see the other levels.

Edit: Heh. I just realized my review made it sound like this sucked. There were a lot of good points, though, that I forgot to mention.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]

This is a conversion of Raneforus. That is, the Raneforus included with JJ2.
The transparencies are fixed, and some tiles are added. I.E. More arrows, text signs, blocks. However, what would have been preferrable is if the author had taken the time to get the tiles that were missing from Raneforus. E.G. Vertical walls.
The masking needs work. Things are rather jagged, and there are lots of holes in masks.
The colors are off. It’s not too noticable unless you switch back and forth between it and an original, though.
Still, for those of you who don’t want to use Tarquin aka Crono’s conversion, which is in 1.23, has proper colors, has a (not working) textured background, but poor masking, this is something you might want to download.

JSZ Jazz, I recommend you fix the bugs I mentioned, and send it to someone with 1.23 to convert for you.

Response:
To take screenshots in JJ1, press Backspace+F2. They will be saved in the JJ1 folder, under the name Screen#.lbm. (# being some number) Warning, though, if you press it too many times JJ1 crashes.
Don’t just rotate the floor. The walls in Raneforus look different.
A lot of the masks have little holes in them. While this doesn’t effect the gameplay, it looks really bad in JCS.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]

The three race levels ok, obstacles mainly consisting of horizontal springs attached to the wall. The eyecandy could use a little work, along with tile fitting, but they’re ok.
The battle level is interesting. It shouldn’t have those hurt events, but some nice effects make up for that. You can get stuck in the greyrabbit up at the top, and the level’s rather barren.
The two single player levels aren’t too good. The first one has its name, eyecandy, and next level setting direct from Victorian Secrets. They both use the house tiles fairly well, but the sewers are quite bad. Might I add that these levels are only doable as Jazz.

I feel sorry for MKZ to get a tribute like this.

“Fake 3 Arena” I’ve reviewed before, and I’m not going to do it again.
“Arena” is mainly a small rectangular area. On either side is some ammo and a spring. There’s a warp in the top middle to a bunch of RF ammo (including three powerups for it) There are some text strings in another language, a way to fall to the bottom, and hurt events.
“Risa” makes me thing strongly of Bjarni Cool. There’s a chat room, a huge underwater area (with infinite gems), a bunch of powerups and shields, and a coin warp to a lot more powerups and shields. To get out of the coin warp, you have to go through a coin warp. Every time you exit the chat room, you get more coins.
“Subspace” probably has some story behind it, but the text strings went by too fast and didn’t use @s. Anyway, it’s a probable CTF level with a chat room and a lot of powerups next to the red base. Again, you get coins when you enter the level or exit the chat room.
“Snowball Fight” is so far the best of the lot, which is sad when you consider it. Using poor eyecandy, design, gameplay and weapon placement, this level treats you to a CTF level with spikes, poorly done vines, and collapse scenery.
“Christmas presents” gets me wondering. Didn’t CelL make a couple of HH98 tileset levels called Snowball Fight and Christmas Presents? Oh well.. anyway.. a large jump in quality from Snowball Fight, this level still is bad. The author is beginning to figure out how to use Layer 3 well, but the design is bad.
FOOD FIGHT!”. Ooh. These levels, and I’m being serious, keep getting better. The eyecandy may throw you off, but this level is actually decent in places. (If not throughout)
“Frozen Diamonds” is the first Single Player level. Or it could be Treasure Hunt, but as the level is pretty much a straight line, with the exception of traps that send you back, I’m thinking SP. The level’s not that good, but the quality is still much higher then “Fake 3 Arena”.
“Deep Space Nine.” Another fascinatingly original title.. cough Anyway, this is a large CTF level, with hurt events, a shopping center (where you buy powerups and stuff), small platforms, ammo, and other stuff. The tiles mostly fit together.

And that’s it.
