Well, it looks very nice… the graphics are cool looking and all… but it’s too small, there is no animation, the masking is bad, and there is no background… but… it’s easy to build with… and the masking is okay… An average tileset, I suppose. As average as they get. Spend more time on your sets. Make them so big that if it were any bigger, it wouldn’t work properly. That’ll make people rate higher. Also, remember to put in backgrounds ;) That’s one of the most important thing. There is layer 5, 6, and 7 eyecandy (mountains), but nothing for layer 8. There are only 32×32 blocks (1×1). You should make blocks that are 64×32 (2×1) which would be a long block, and 32×64 (1×2) which would be long the other way. Also, a 64×64 block (2×2), which would be a big one. Look at other tilesets, like, let’s say, Dark Reign, or Death Metal. They have more blocks. They even have slopes that are different angles (32×64, 64×32, 32×32). EvilMike’s tileset from back in the day even had 96×32 slopes! Of course, they don’t work properly.
Anyway, no download reccomendation, sorry. If you’re a new level creator, maybe.

Bah. Not so good. DX overrated this big time.
Eyecandy – Bad
Bad eyecandy… all though there is a background, and that’s all ways good. The eyecandy in other places if just annoying and ugly. Some tiles don’t go together.
Gameplay – Bad
Bad gameplay. Expect a boring time, especially if you’re Jazz. Frusturating, too.
Flow – Bad
Bad flow… the spring placement is annoying, and some places lack springs. Jazz can’t reach many areas, for example, on top of the floating building. Spaz can barely reach that, either.
Layout – Bad
Hideous layout.
Ammo placement – Okay
The ammo placement is merely okay… nothing good, though.
Size – Bad / okay
Not so good, but at least it’s A LITTLE big…
Host this often – Not a chance… it’s 1.24, anyway.
Download – No.
DX: Rate everything 1.0 points lower than you would normally rate them, and your ratings will be far more reasonable. Also, look at the gameplay… don’t rate levels high just because they look neat, or your friends made them, or you beta tested it. GAMEPLAY is everything. Flow, etc. The level has to be enjoyable and easy to get around in for good gameplay. I never see you look at the gameplay when rating.
My favorite level. I’m the one who has to overrate this time, but that’s probably because DX DC hasn’t reviewed this ;p Anyway, great flow, great layout… the best ever. The eyecandy is very good, and the ammo placement is very unique. In fact, it started a whole era of mass groups of ammo among CTF levels. Great level.
Host this often: You bet.
Download: Yes.
Bleh.
Bad eyecandy, awful gameplay, a lot of bugs, you are prone to getting stuck, bad layout, bad flow, bad everything. No download reccomendation, but, nice try. You shouldn’t make a CTF level unless you have a lot of experience making levels. I tell everyone this. They don’t listen. When they don’t listen, they get 5.0’s.
Overall: Bad

It’s not good at all. The slopes don’t fix together well, and there is no textured background. Pinball events, snow, water in 8bit, and poles do not work. The masking is not all that special. No eyecandy tiles. No animations. Just rather ugly. The only good thing is that the flat tiles fit together okay. No download reccomendation.
23.9 is mine, too =) My sister’s birthday is today (the 16th).[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Bjarni, it was too low… or atleast it was too low compared to the other reviews. That’s long enough.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
You know, DX, at your level, you should know that a good level needs good eyecandy, and good eyecandy needs background layers other then 8. You could’ve got away with no layers 5, 6, and 7 back when you were new at level making, but now there’s no excuse. The textured background is yucky, too. There is hardly any eyecandy in the sprite layer, either.
The gameplay is average… it’s hard, but it’s kind of crammed into one space, if you know what I mean. It’s also short. DX, you need to make your levels longer.
Another thing, a hard level doesn’t mean Tuf Turtles thrown around everywhere in a way so that you have to jump down to fight them, and you will all most all ways get hurt jumping down. Sure, that’s hard, but that’s not a real challenge. Your levels just have lots of baddies… Like the game, Will Rock. It has over 200 badguys in each level, but none are placed strategically. Try placing enemies where they’ll surprise you, or where you least want them. Put a stand monkey on a ledge above you, rather than just a bunch of bats below you.
Ammo placement is fine; there’s nothing wrong with it.
Overall: Okay
Download reccomendation: No.
Yes, you should make more levels. Just spend more time on them. If you have more than 3 levels on the recent uploads list, then that’s too many. You’re rushing your levels, and they’re too small. You’re also forgetting to put in background eyecandy. People give you advice all the time about size and backgrounds… you never take it.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Eyecandy: Average
The eyecandy is okay, I suppose. There still isn’t much of it. The background is ugly, and there are no background layers other than 8, so it’s rather ugly.
Gameplay: Bad
The gameplay is bad. There isn’t enough jumping room, and the Rabbits Stink signs get in the way.
Flow: Bad
The flow is poor. The spring placement isn’t good, and like I said, the rabbits stink signs get in the way.
Layout: Bad
The layout is very annoying. Not good.
Ammo placement: Okay
Okay ammo placement… not too bad.
Overall: Bad / okay
Good try.
Host this often: Nope.
Bjarni, that’s overrating, and you will get ‘Traftoned,’ meaning he will own/pwn/censor/rating remove/etc. you. If you want, you can send your reviews to me and I’ll approve of them and tell you if they’re reasonable so you don’t risk getting warnings. [This review has been edited by labratkid]
Don’t upload hotels to J2O. There’s no point. Just host them, for crying out loud. No eyecandy here, boring gameplay, and it’s just… not good. Once again, this is overrated by Quotentia, Vera, and that other guy. Once again, I’m the guy who has to make the rating of this level fair.
Bad level. The eyecandy is boring, the gameplay sucks, and the ammo placement is also yucky. You have to run this by dragging the level to the executable. That’s bad. Short level, easy level… just bad. No download reccomendation.
I took the palette directly from the Medivo 2. I don’t know why it didn’t work. Anyway, I made this for the sole purpose that I was making a very slope based level with Medivo 2. I thought that if anyone was doing the same, I should upload this to J2O.
It’s just a masking fix, Bjarni. You can’t see any of the fixed things, other than the signs. If you look at the mask, the slopes now work fine.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
No.
I know. They are annoying me, too.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
How did you download this if you got a 404 error? The link is broken for me, too. People don’t know how to read directions, do they? >(
Oh, GREAT. ANOTHER one of these. This is just a classic tileset where the tops and bottoms of the building blocks are small gradients, and the rest is just one color. The tile placement sucks here. In textured mode, the background here ALL MOST looks decent. But, still, it looks bad. Pinball events do not work properly here. takes off points Poles do not work properly here, either takes off more points There is no water gradient here allowing water to work in 8bit mode. takes off even more points Snow does not work properly, but it still looks cool, so I won’t take off points. There are little to no eyecandy tiles. You can just make the most basic of levels. Don’t expect to make a level with this that will get an eyecandy rating over the “bad” category. Don’t even expect to get into that.
There are no hooks. -POINTS
There are no vines; at least none work. -POINTS
There are no sucker tubes, which are very neccasary in space sets. -POINTS
There are no spikes. -POINTS
There are no belts. -POINTS
Did I mention there wasn’t enough eyecandy tiles?
Oh, by the way, there aren’t enough eyecandy tiles.
I just got a call from the doctor and he said THERE AREN’T ENOUGH EYECANDY TILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Overall: 5
Average tileset. About as good as they come when they’re made with MS PAINT.
Okay, this isn’t too good. It’s a small level with horrible eyecandy and sux gameplay that just has a bunch of lab rats. It also has some MCE Jazzes and trigger zones that DX puts in just to show off that he went to Overlord’s site. It is NOT hard, Vera, I only got hurt once and that’s because the boss is placed in such a way that you all ways bump into him. It’s not cool at all, and yes, there are many lab rats.
I AM NOT ASOCIATED WITH THIS LEVEL IN ANY WAY. IT IS NOT ASOCIATED WITH LABRAT HQ, MY OLD SUX LEVEL PACK, EITHER. DON’T CONFUSE THEM, OR I’LL HURT YOU.
Overall: 3.5
Download: Noooooooooo.
Rather than flooding J2O and using up valuable webscape with two levels that have the same theme and use the same tileset, why not either upload them as one or combine the two to make a bigger level? If you’re going to upload 5 or 10 levels at once like you do every single day, it’d be a lot more convient if you’d upload them together.
Just a couple tests. They are very easy, except for the second to last one, which is sort of hard, but nothing too bad. When making a test, make the eyecandy decent, and don’t put anything that distracts you. You have a bunch of blocks floating around in the foreground. Ugly, and it blocks your vision. You don’t have to do anything great, but you could atleast TRY. Average tests. I refuse to rate any tests high, because they take little skill to make. Windmeister is an exception; it has eyecandy, it’s very fun, and it looks like it took a while to make.
Host this often: If I’m drunk, I might accidently click on this instead of another test.

An average level. DX is overrating, once again. You can tell the author didn’t want to do anything serious with this, and that he just made it for fun, as well as being funny. There is some eyecandy; not too much, but enough to pass. The layout is awful, and the gameplay is bad. You should never make a CTF level “hard” to navigate through. That’s for race levels and, sometimes, for single player, when used appropriately. In a CTF level, flow, gameplay, and layout are the most important factors. You should have a very easy time getting through it – it should be a breeze. This level is not that, at all.
Host this often: If all of the other levels in C:\JJ2 went POOF and this was the only one left, I just might.
Download reccomendation: If you’re bored.
PHT, you are not using the old brain. Don’t edit levels. Just host them from your home cooked list.
If I HAVE to review this…. Fine.
Eyecandy: Bad
There is okay eyecandy in layer 4. That’s not really what counts. This level has no background layers, and no foreground, so that’s bad.
Gameplay: Okay
There is some traces of gameplay and flow here, but you can tell that whatever seems to flow was inintentional by the author. Somewhat decent.
Ammo: Okay
Ammo placement is okay. Too many powerups.
Layout: Okay
The layout is okay. Never, EVER, EVER put dead ends in battle or CTF levels. NEVER. DON’T DO IT. NO! NOT ONCE! NOT TWICE! NEVER. DON’T. >(
An okay level.
Download reccomendation: No.
