Eyecandy – Bad
Gameplay – Okay
Flow – Okay
Layout – Okay / good
Bugs – Bad
Ammo placement – Okay / good
Overall – Okay
Download – Probably not
Host this often – No
I went with a short review this time.
DX, can you play online and host in the first place? 0_o
Prepare for an awful level if this is used. The only new thing here is a background that doesn’t work in textured mode and a poorly masked tree.
Read my other review. As for the new stuff, my rating will go up to 4.7.

Eyecandy – Good / Very good
The eyecandy is as good as it’s gonna get with this tileset. Some places look dull, and don’t have much besides the wall tiles, but other places have plenty of stuff. The textured background is neat, too.
Gameplay – Very good.
I like the gameplay here a lot. It’s fun for duels.
Flow – Very good
Yayayayayayaya. KTHX.
Layout – Good / very good
Yayayayayayaya. KTHX.
Ammo placement – Good
It could’ve been better, but it’s unique.
Overall – Overall, good. It’s hard working with this set because there is no flat ground to work with. Nick was drunk during this tileset’s creation and forgot the flat ground. Either that or Violet was ;p
Download: Yes.
Host this often: Sometimes, yes.
The slopes don’t work well. Everything else is nice.
WHY DO YOU UPLOAD YOUR HOTELS TO J2O? IS THERE A REASON? NOBODY CAN HOST THEM AND NOBODY CAN DO ANYTHING WITH THEM. SO WHY DO IT? IT MAKES NO SENSE, UNLESS IT’S LIKE FIVE GOLDEN STAR HOTEL WHERE YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO EXPLORE AND HAVE FUN.
Ok, now that I got that out…
1.) Talk in English
2.) This is TSF
3.) This doesn’t use beach
4.) This is not treasure hunt.
5.) Why put a .rar inside of a .zip? 0_o
kthxdone
Hooray. The fifth good hotel tileset is finally here! :D
Colors: Very good
I love the colors… all most like the colors in Mirrow’s Kingdom.
Masking: Very Good.
Great masking. The only thing I dislike about the masking is the edges of the ground tiles. Tsk, Violet’s right. I thought it was just me, but the stairs are masked very poorly. I won’t take off anything because I’m nice.
Animations: Good / very good
It doesn’t have too much, but what there is is wonderful. It uses Mirrow’s 1337 fire animation from Wisetyness, and a lovely gold shower animation that looks edited from True Rabbit Hotel.
Graphics: Very good
Must I explain?
Compatabiltity: Good / very good
Well, first off, the snow does not work, but you don’t need snow here.
Water works in 8bit! :D
COOL POLES! :D I’m giving you points for the 1337ness of the poles! :D The jungle pole looks kind of funny, though.
Pinball bumpers do not work. =(
Pinball flippers work, and look awesome in the process! :D
Eyecandy tiles: Very good
Not that it matters; people usually don’t put eyecandy into hotels, anyway. There is no background, though. Why? =(
Palette: N/A
N/A
Overall: Very good
Great tileset. You don’t see many beauties like this anymore… a must download for noobs and experienced level makers alike.
Download: Yes.
Build with this: Yes.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Uh, oh. I have discovered many weak points while building a level with this. You can have thirteen animations, which is most definetely not enough. The person I was building the level with deserted me and the project because of this. Here’s your -.3. Sorry.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Your first CTF level… not too bad.
Eyecandy – Okay
I suppose the eyecandy is okay but I won’t go any higher then ‘okay’ until you begin putting backgrounds in your levels.
Gameplay – Very bad
Gameplay is bad, and slow moving. Spaz biased, lack of springs…. no good.
Flow – Very bad
Classic bad flow. Especially the carrot that moves up and down, preventing you from getting in and out of the base over half of the time.
Layout – Very bad
You know what I mean.
Ammo placement – Bad / okay
Somewhere between bad and okay. Not very good, but not TOO bad.
Bugs – Very bad
Well, if you get stuck in the carrot that moves, and then hold jump, you’ll get stuck in the wall, and you can get a flag bug here because DX didn’t put a mask, and there are other bugs.
Overall: Bad
Not too bad for your first CTF level, but not as good as some. Nice try. Next time, make sure Jazz can play this easy, and that it’s fast moving, and host it online a couple times before uploading it, to make sure it’s fun to play. What good is a level when it’s boring to play?
Download reccomendation: No
Host this often: Never.
Not too good at all, but it’s decent. The tiles all fit together nicely, but the 3D tiles do not have enough neccasary tiles. It needs the peice that connects the floor to the wall, and some others. The masking is mostly automasked, but I’ve seen worse. You messed up on the 3D mask, though. There is a little edge hanging out over the wall. A lot of people tend to do this when they are making 3D sets.
Anyway, there aren’t enough eyecandy tiles.
There is no textured background.
No water in 8bit, etc.
No vines.
No hooks.
No belts.
No water blocks.
Just overall not enough stuff.
No download reccomendation.
The colors are the worst part of this set, BTW.
Backslash, that’s really dumb to take off for not putting in an example level.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
I’ll take the honor of giving this level a Tip (8.0 or higher).
Eyecandy is very good. There is nothing wrong there.
Gameplay is fun, and entertaining, but when you fall downwards toward the bases, you may accidently hit a tree, causing you to go back up.
Flow is nice; the level is easy to learn.
Layout is also good.
Ammo placement is okay; I’ve seen better.
Download: Yes.
Host this often: Occasionally, yes.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
The only thing you can really rate this on is the eyecandy, which sucks, because that’s all DX really did… so, if I rated this, it wouldn’t be high. I won’t rate it, though.
Not too bad… DX, you should talk. Bjarnis levels at least have backgrounds ;p Hard level…. but it’s small, and kind of boring. No download reccomendation, but Bjarni’s levels are getting better.
If you’re going to make an edit of battle 1, make it… hey, wait, don’t make one at all, unless you’re getting rid of the shield or making it so if it’s a laggy server that doesn’t have respawn.exe, you can get up to the fast fires, and the deleted shield without using a copter (I did this once). Anyway, all this does is put a spring somewhere, that shoots you to the stop of the level, where there is just a bunch of linear and ugly areas covered up by layer 3. I’m taking off points to begin with because it’s an edit. This is awful, though.
Eyecandy – Bad
At least there’s a background… the sprite layer and layer 3 eyecandy suck too bad, though.
Gameplay: Very bad
Yuck. Jazz can barely get around it, and Spaz has a hard time, too.
Flow: Very bad
Bad flow… spring placement sucks.
Ammo: Very bad
This is the first ‘very bad’ ammo placement I’ve issued. This is pretty darn bad.
Layout: Very bad
goes in the bathroom and comes out an hour later weighing 10 pounds less, then eats for the next day non-stop to gain the weight back
Download reccomendation: No.
Host this often: No.
Overall: No. Very bad. Try harder next time, and focus on the gameplay. No offense to your beta testers, but have people who are good at level making test your levels, because if you take advice from someone whose not good, what good is the advice?
Read my review for the first one. It’s basically the same.
The only difference here is that there are some new tiles, none of that are particularly useful.
I’m not adding anything for the trees glowing, because that was unintentional of you.
Water in 8bit does NOT work; I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Anyway, my review is the same as the one for version 1, but since there are new tiles, I’ll give you +.2 points because I’m nice.
Ugggggly. Baaaaaad. Buggggggy. Shooooort.
Eyecandy: Very bad
Not much. What is there is disgusting and nauseating.
Gameplay: Very bad
Gameplay: Where? What gameplay?
Bugs: Very bad
You get stuck A LOT.
Enemies: Very bad
Bad enemies placement.
Size: Very bad
Small, linear, yucky, bleh, blah, bloo, bleep, bah, boh, odsfdhfsdojkfskdhf.
Overall: Very bad
Download reccomendation: Noooooooooooo.
Average level. The eyecandy is ALL MOST acceptable, but there are a few several tile bugs, and there is NO BACKGROUND. DX, I’ve told you a million times to put backgrounds. This time, I’m taking off .5 points, because you don’t listen. Bad listeners don’t get rewarded. The enemy placement is ALL MOST acceptable, but it’s very easy. Your levels seem to be flooded with tuf turtles, for the sole purpose that they are hard to beat. You don’t strategically place the enemies, DX, like I’ve told you before. People review your levels to GIVE YOU ADVICE. I’m probably wasting my time now, anyway, telling you all this, because you don’t listen to a THING people tell you. What’s the point of reviewing if you don’t listen? Pretty soon, I’m going to stop reviewing your levels, if you don’t take advice. And, stop with the personal attacks. Anyway, no download reccomendation. Average level.
Yay for overrating.
Eyecandy: Bad
The eyecandy is bad. Most of this level is done “cave” style, so the author wouldn’t have to bother to put in a background. A lot of it is just blocks, too. Whatever the case is, there’s not enough, and what is there, is ugly.
Gameplay: Bad
Bad.
Weapons: Bad
Bad weapons placement.
Enemies: Bad
Bad enemies placement… very easy.
Overall: Too short… ugly… bad gameplay…
Download reccomendation: No.
This is 1.24. Anyway, you can’t host this in race mode, because you can’t turn into a frog in race mode. You can only host it in COOP. That doesn’t work, either, because you didn’t make a coin based exit. You should get a coin every time you exit, and then when you have 3 coins, you are warped to the exit. Then, it would work.
Eyecandy is good… but overdone. It all revolves in layers 3 – 5. There is no background. How many times do I have to tell you to put backgrounds in your levels? ;p
Now, the gameplay isn’t too fun. The frogs aren’t fast enough… it’s not very fast paced, or anything, so it’s not fun.
The level’s too small, too.
Overall: Okay
Download: No
Host this often: Maybe once or twice just for fun… but not because it’s a very good level.
I strongly dissagree with Mikee. And, I must say, I never thought I would live to the day when I rated a level higher then DX ;) Here you have a good handful of lovely, huge, very hard single player levels.
THE BEACH LEVEL
Great level; maybe the hardest one. Good eyecandy, and fun gameplay… a great challenge, overall.
THE MEDIVO LEVEL
Another wonderful level. Very nice to look at, too. Really original… my favorite one.
THE DIAMONDUS LEVEL
This is what saves the level from getting a 9.2. Jazz really can’t beat this level unless you know how to do the golden jump, and not everyone knows how to do it. The eyecandy here is a bit overdone, too.
THE censored LEVEL
A very hard, and original. Also the boss level. It frusturated me to the point where I was ripping out my hair. ;p
THE CARROTUS LEVEL
I must say, I don’t remember this one. I just remember that there was a place with springs.
Download reccomendation: Yes.
Own Mikee’s review: Yes. ;p
Play this again: Sure.
Mikee, if you’re going to be dropped into a pit, the author is testing your reflexes of buttstomping enemies quickly from above. Falling into spikes is your own fault ;)[This review has been edited by labratkid]
