So this is a little game about shooting turtles. But is it fun?

The point of the game is to shoot a couple of turtles withing a certain time limit or else they kill you. It is a very simple game but it is still pretty unplayble. The flying turtles fly out of the screen most of the time which is really irritating since they can still shoot you but you can’t shoot them. So I ended up loosing a lot of times because of this crappy programming.

The second major problem with this game is that it doesn’t remind me of Jazz Jackrabbit at all. You shoot flying turtles in diamondus but the background doesn’t remind me at all of diamondus. The sound effects and all the other stuff doens’t remind me of Jazz Jackrabbit also.

The graphics are pretty decent though with a nice amount of detail.

Overall this game looks quite decent but it’s simply not fun and does not resemble Jazz Jackrabbit at all.

EDIT:
You can scroll through the level using arrow keys, this improves the gameplay greatly. Sorry for the really bad rating earlier. I still think that the graphics don’t resemble Jazz jackrabbit and diamondus. Some prober documentation is also needed. Music gets pretty annoying quick.

I promised to review more so here it goes!

Gameplay: rating: 8.6
Before you can play you need to choose a skill. Each skill has his own weapons but also each skill has his own task. One task is defending the base as an other skill your task is to attack the enemy base and some other task is killing your enemies. You really need teamplay because if you dont everybody haves the same skills or all the wrong skills and then your team will lose for sure, so you need to think before you choose a skill and thats something I really like, teamplay. the level itself is also really fun because Blackraptor made some turrets so its hard to camp in the level. There are also enough up and downs in the castles. Outside the castles its flat but I think that’s fun because its hard to get to the castle without dieing so you really need to focus. Also the gameplay keeps changing when you keep choosing different skills witch makes the level even funner. GJ Blacky ;p.

Leveldesign: rating: 8.2
The leveldesign is really well. The castles really looks like castles so the level looks realistic and nice. Outside the castles its really open and inside the castles its really closed and solid and that also looks really realistic. The dungeon is also really well designed and looks believeble. It looks like you really are in a castle with dungeons weapons knights and flag bases ;l. GJ!

Placement: rating: 8.0
The placement is really well. Each skill has his own powerup(s). In the level itself its full with groups of ammo witch are nicely spread out in the level. There is also a full carrot in the center of the level and 2 1+ carrots in the castles witch isnt bad at all. The springs are also placed where its needed and gets you to places witch arent reachable with a normal jump.

Eyecandy: rating: 8.1
Blackraptor always says: Eyecandy>> ALL. And in this level the eyecandy is completely fine, the Background contains an textured background with nice stars and the fade-in color looks really well, also there is a big cloud witch shoots rain down and yes it looks good. The castles looks really well because its full with animated chains, Knights, flames, weapons, shields and many more. Outside the castles there are also some eyecandy stuff like nicely animated flags. Everything combined and BOOM you have a good looking level full of details. GJ Blackraptor

Since I got banned for no reason I have time to review this level, Oh and I promised it too.

Gameplay: rating: 7.5
A quite fun level to play in. The flow is more then decent because you can run through the level without really much trouble. There are some small dead ends in this level but that isn’t a really big problem in battle mode. There are many places to go and the level isn’t linear like most multiplayer levels should be. There are vines, one ways, one suckertube and other stuff to make the level a little bit more fun. There aren’t any irritating float ups. Well the gameplay is just good but it could be a little bit better.

Leveldesign: rating: 7.5
The leveldesign is quite nice. The level looks natural because there are many up and downs and the walls and ceilings arent flat, but the level also looks more natural because the cave’s are more narrow and outside the levle is more open which is in the real world too. Everything seems logic enough and not weird or strange, good job.

Placement: rating: 7.8
The placement isn’t bad at all. The ammo is spread out in the level in multiple groups which is nice and good, but on some places it’s a bit empty so there could be a little bit more ammo. There are 3 powerups which are nicely spread out in the level in walls which is good but it wouldn’t be a trouble if they where out in the open, the bouncer is out in the open though. There are 2 carrots which are nicely placed but are on the same side and one side of the level doesn’t have a carrot so you could move the carrot that was in the cave to the other side whit no carrot. There is also a pit with candy which is ok. The spring placement is good and get me where I want to go but the spring at position 50,20 could be a bleu one so you can go all the way up and that would’t be a dead end then.

Eye candy: rating: 7.4
When it wasn’t uploaden the background was still 2d and empty, but now the background is 3d and you can see the sea with a boat on it :D. The level self has also some eyecandy on it’s own, there are beautiful waterfalls, stone heads, some flowers and rocks but also nice caves which all looks quite nice together. Then there is also ambient lightning in caves and some flicker light’s which looks also nice. However this tileset can do better eye candy as you see in this level, there could be more rocks and flowers in the level and there could be a lot more eyecandy in the ground. It’s still a nice looking level, well done.

Satan is finally back with a review! and I can say that this is one of the better levels using Diamondus beta.

Gameplay: rating: 8.5
This level is pretty fun to play because there are many logical and fun things in this level. For example there are no dead ends at all. Also the level isn’t just platforms putten randomly in the air but full of places to investigate and run around. Also there are trees where you can stand on wich make the level more fun. The flow is also really well done, there are no irritating area float ups, also there are one ways where it should be. Ok and something really important: The level isn’t Spaz baised GG. There is also a secret warp which makes the level more fun and there are a lot of vines wich I like.

Leveldesign: rating: 8.5
The leveldesign is also really good in this level. The level isn’t just flat and platformy but it’s full of hills and hight levels. In the ground there are also brakes. Also ouside the range of the player there is ground and caves and that sort of stuff. The leveldesign is really like a outside world far away of humanity where little bunny’s fight each other.

Placement: rating: 8.3
The placement is also really well done. There are multiple groups of ammo spread out in the entire level and that’s good because I have seen levels which there is too much ammo on one spot, but not in this level. There are many powerups in the level and that’s ok because it’s a battle. Most of the powerups are not easy to get like the Seeker powerup and the RF powerup but Toaster and Bouncy is yours for the taking. There are also some fast fires and that’s also well placed. There is one thing I don’t like about the placement of the level and that’s the full energy carrot, since it’s a small level a full energy isn’t needed here and specially in battle a Full energy isn’t well, I prefer 2 1+ energy carrot on each side of the level. Last but not least the springs are very well placed and get’s me where I want to go and don’t bump me in walls. Good job!

Eyecandy: rating: 8.9
Finally we are at the best aspect of the level ‘‘THE EYECANDY’‘. The eyecandy is really good in this level. There are mountains in the background and that looks nice. There are also flowers, mushrooms, waterfalls, trees, diamonds, caves, bushes, falling leaves, water and it all looks great together. The animations are just perfect and the level is a pleasure for the eye. I think the eyecandy is just as good as ‘Garden Brawl’ by FiresworD. A really good job Booshi!

Ok! Ðx has a new level and he forced me to review this level (as he always do).

Gameplay: rating: 7.2.
This level has different Gameplay then most of the levels. This level is more straight and don`t have many ways to go. That is mostly boring in levels but in this level it isn`t really boring because the ground isn`t really flat but you have to jump alot. Although it is linear you can`t just run from site to site because each team has his own fort/castle. And there is only one way in the fort and one way out so it can be really well guarded and will have a little bit of the feeling as both sided assault.It`s easy to get to the flag but if the fort is well gaurded it`s hard and then this level will be really fun esspecially when there are 5 players in each team or more. O.o the level isn`t fully bordered and there will be a flagbug. Although the gameplay isn`t perfect it can still be fun when the teams use stragety what almost never happens.

Leveldesign: rating: 7.0
The leveldesign is really basic but I like the design of the bases because they really have the shape of a fort. To make the forts complete there are 2 towers with a flag on it if I`m right. ouside the fort there is nothing spacial just much up and downs. Also there is a tunnel that is wel designed and isn`t flat either. Damn don`t know more to say.

Placement: rating: 8.0
I start with the ammo placement. There is nothing wrong with it they ammo is nicely spreaded and all ammo that`s usefull is there. There are no places where you are dying for ammo and no places where it`s full of them so it`s equally spread out through the level. There are also coins and there aren`t to much of them and are also fairly and goodly spread out. There is only one powerup and that`s in the coinwarp and I am glad there is only one or it would be impossible to enter the base. There is no Carrot in the level and that`s something I will miss when I am playong this level but it`s not a big problem in this level.

Eyecandy: rating: 7.5
The eyecandy in this level is not bad. The background has moving stars. There are lovely animations at the forts and windows in the towers and a flag on the top of the towers. Each fort has his own teamcollor. Outside the forts there are tubes connected to each other for eyecandy what looks fine. The tunnels to the bases also looks pretty neat. There could be more eyecandy and animations in the ground but I am not complaining.

Extra stuff:
-Coinshop(+0.2).

Final rating: 7.2+7.0+8.0+7.5=29.7:4=7.4+0.2=*7.6*

This level is made by Labratkid and it`s his best Single player level in my opinion, Why? read on.

Gameplay: rating: 9.0
When you start the game you start in a dark spaceship. It`s not all that special just collect, shoot, jump and destroy some trigger crates. Although it`s not really specail there are some small things that makes the level more fun then the original levels like a suckertube shoots you of and you land in another suckertube. To make it even more fun there are Spikebolls in the spaceship. When you get out of the ship the gameplay changes in a more fun and special gameplay. You will be launched into space and as far as I understand from it Jazz can fly. What you need to do is brake a number of triggercrates inside spaceships that`s spreat out in space. The good thing about this is that is isn`t linear at that moment and that`s a really good thing. All the spaceships have different things like different enemies in each ship (monkeys in space lol). When you destroyed all the crates you will get warped into a big spacship. I really wanted a checkpoint on that moment and yes there it is. Labratkid didn`t want us to get bored and maked a nice spring attraction. Cool!! Then it`s nothing special anymore just shoot a couple of turtles. Then Devan appears and you have to fight him.

Leveldesign: rating: 8.5
The leveldesign is really good and believeble. The spaceships are mostly designed like narrow corridors and thats good. The spaceships also have sideways what makes it more believeble and fun. Also the leveldesign isn`t flat and that`s makes the gameplay better too. The spaceships have shapes that`s believeble and really don`t look like boring square plains but really cool. The leveldesign is logic and understandeble for the players. Secrets are also on logic places. Don`t know much more.

Placement: rating: 8.0
Let`s start with the enemy placement, The enemy placement is quite good. The enemy`s arent just randomly throwen in to the level but on logical places. For example in space it`s full of floating suckers and in and on the ship there are turtles. There are many types of enemies used what keeps the level interesting. Ok now let`s talk about the goodies/food placement. THe goodies/food are nicely placed and spreat out in the level. I didn`t had the felling that there should be more goodies/food and didn`t had the feeling there should less goodies/food. The goodies/food is placed on places where it should be. The goodies/food aren`t only placed on easy place sometimes you have to look or go another sideway in for goodies and that`s good. Hmmmm…. That`s about it right? No! I forget something, The springs. The springs are very well placed they are placed where they really are useful or even for fun!!! That`s it.

Eyecandy: rating: 8.5
I think eyecandy is really importent in levels and I am glad the eyecandy is good in this level. First of all the stars are really nice and ain`t looks like just stars in 1 line but looks 3d in my opinion because there is another layer used for stars with a different speed. The stars are also moving which give the felling the ships are really moving nice. Enough about space let`s talk about the spaceships. The spaceships looks really nice from inside because there are Many windows and shadows are used. There are many beautiful animation and the level looks even more better thanks to the gorgous lights. Also layer 3 is used very well. I haven`t seen 1 tilebug in the level. That`s about it.

Extra stuff:
-Easy, normal, hard mode(+ 0.2).

Final rating: 9.0+8.5+8.0+8.5=34->-> 34:4=8.5+0.2= 8.7

Man i hate reviewing but sometimes i need to do it. BTW go review it also.

EYECANDY:
Good!!! The background looks good. There is a 3d background and it uses the red groundblocks and it looks new and original. There are multiple backgound layers used and in those layers there are radio`s, animated tubes and more. I want to say that the animated tubes really looks cool and is original. Also all foreground layers are used. Those forground layers are used for eyecandy and also to hide the character that you are playing with. Ok layer 5 is used for extra eyecandy stuff that has the same speed as layer 4 but some of those eyecandy things look kinda strange and could be looking better. No tilebugs.

pros: good and original eyecandy.
cons: Some eyecandy stuff in layer 5 looks weird.

PLACEMENT:
Fine!!! Well The ammo placement is good. The ammo is nicely spread out through the hole level so there are no places where the isn`t much ammo. I think again that the ammo respawn too quikly i think is should be about 20. There are a couple of powerups, i found bouncers and RF and there are quite nice placed but there is something i don`t like how to get the bouncer powerup but i will tell that in the gameplay section. There is 1 carrot if i am right and it`s nice placed. Springs get me where i want to go.

Pros: Ammo/goodies nicely spread out.
Cons: The ammo/goodies respawn too quikly

GAMEPLAY:
Oke!!! The level is quite fun to play and not linear. The flow is quite good i can run fast trough the level and there are many suckertubes and spring to get me fast on places. But there are many thing i don`t like about the eyacandy, like there are some irritating area float ups what blows me of a platform or irritates me because i want to jump to get on a platform. Also there are places where there are one ways what i never expect and the wall where is the one way is too big so i can easily camp. Also what is annoying is that some springs are hiding in the foreground so that i walk and then get bounced by a spring but i didn`t want that. Also on some places there are masking problems so i can stick to a wall. Uhm that`s about it.

Pros: The level is fun to play.
Cons: Irritating float ups.

OTHERS:
Fine: I like the song and the size is good and there is a next level setting.

Final conclusion: Good level but some minor bugs.
