Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Online

hmm. this pack kinda owns. i like every level of this pack, because they all have something special in them, ( like eyecandy, design.. etc. ;p )
and gameplay is also very good. oh well, the eyecandy may look dull in some levels, but the levels are still very good. ( not superior though )
hmm, lets get started the real review.

EYECANDY:
Eyecandy is very good. there’s lots of eyecandy in every level, and i like it. it may look little bit dull in some levels, but it doesnt matter, because these levels are still 1337.

GAMEPLAY:
Good. i like gameplay in this pack alot. it just owns. or something. ;o ;o

PLACEMENT:
Good, i like enemy placement too, but it could be better in some levels. ;-P

ORIGINALITY/FUN FACTOR:
I would play this pack again, because it was so 1337, and original, and fun to play. this gets big download recommedation.

OVERALL:
Ok. this pack has good eyecandy, nice gameplay, and placement. and its fun, too.. sooo, what you’re waiting for? Download this right away!

Heh, this tileset is LOT better than i expected. Let me review it. ;P

This tileset is quite nice. tiles are very cool looking, but they’re way to “cartoony” so they don’t fit in to jj2 in my opinion. ;-p
Tiles are very cool looking though, but i still think there’s too much spaces beetween them.
Palette is kinda bad. :(
Textrued background looks ok.. but its still buggy. ;P
This set looks rather dull, because may colors are different shades of blue. use more colors next time. there’s letters too, but not destruction, or other blocks, or text signs. ( atleast i didnt see one =P) in my opinion this tileset needs sucker tubes too.. and maybe belts. no one puts them in their tileset these days D=

Eyecandy: very good – eyecandy here is excellent. i like the background layers, and layer 5 here alot. layer 4 looks nice too, and tileset was used in the end, and i like it.

Gameplay: nice.. navigating is fine, and i don’t have any problems with it. ;-p

Placement:good.. ammo is placed nicely. i really like it. i like the creativity in ammo placement in this lvl.

Overall:Very cool battle level, i have no complaints. download recommedation. this level is very good.

This battle level excellent in my opinion. let me review it.

Gameplay:

Gameplay is very good here. navigating is hard sometimes, but when youll learn this level properly, its very easy.

Eyecandy: Sewers Area is kinda awesome. no tilebugs, and there’ lots of eyecandy. top area has eyecandy too, but not that much. i like the background layers too.

Layout: layout is ok. i don’t have any problems with it. ;b

Placement: Ok. tehres many weapons in this level, and they’re placed very well imo. i don’t have problems with the placement.

Overall: This is very good battle level. download is recommeded. ;)

after some time i decided to give this one a serious review. lets go.

Tile Quality:
Hmm? i think most of the tiles are drwan with mspaint.. and they look very dull. the best tile in this tileset is probably textured background, which doesnt even work. i think tile quality here is very poor. goodluck to your next tileset.

MASKING:
i don’t like masking. almost every tile has mask messages, which are cool when they’re done right. masking of the tiles is very bad in my opinion.. and i don’t like it at all. ;o

COLORS:
Most of the tiles use different shades of green / grey+black. tilesets should be colorful in my opinion.so they wouldn’t look so dull.

PALETTE:
The palette here is probably best aspect in this upload. jazz looks kinda cool, but i wouldn’t use this tileset, actually, to be honest, i don’t use TSF tilesets at all. ;x
well, palette is still ok, and best aspect in this upload. or something

OVERALL:
This set is ok, but there’s no way it can deserve anything above 3.5 ;P

i like this one a bit. song length is good, and sound effects fit. or something like that. i suck at writing big reviews to music files, so this review shall be short. ;o
well, its a very good remix, which deseerves a download recommedation.

i think this level is very crappy. there’s tons of eyecandy and gameplay bugs. i don’t think this level deserves anything above 2.5, because of the dullness and lack of good eyecandy and background layers. ;x
Gameplay is very bad too. there isn’t actually any gameplay. just some random events like loads of purple gems. no download reommedation sorry. i don’t like the tileset either. it just has some screenshots. erminds me of the first tileset of gizmaluke, to be honest. whatever, im going to rate this as 2.2 for the reasons i’ve mentioned. ;P

ok. firstly, i like this conversion alot. it looks kinda boring though because there’s no much different colors. or something like that ;P
Well.. i think there’s enough tiles to create cool and fun level with this tileset. 50% version is good though, i think it would fit bit more to jazz style but then again its just my opinion. yeah, like you said the example level was bad, but its an example level, so i wont lower my rating because of that. i like the masking here too, and there’s enough animations. ok that was enough ;P
im gonna rate this as 7.5 for the reasons i’ve mentioned. :)

This reminds me of “Project XS” ( i don’t remember the name correctly, but its something like that) announced in the JCF, which changed version number, and you weren’t cabable of banning people from a server,because author removed banning and kicking strings. i think this will be deleted soon, but im not sure. ;P

Let me give some advice:

1) add some hills and platfroms and stuff. level is very linear. :S
2)more ammo and powerups
3)more eyecandy, level looks very dull
4)level would be bigger..

quite nice MIDI file in my opinion. one of the best ones available. i like the sounds of this MIDI alot. its bit to short though, but i guess that doesn’t matter because its a midi file and it can’t be used on jj2. oh well. the end,

EYECANDY:
Quite nice. not perfect though. background would be better, its rather dull in this level. ofterwise the eyecandy is fine,this level could have more eyecandy though, it looks quite boring. textured background is quite nice though.

GAMEPLAY:
Hmm, quite good. i don’t like it too much though. sometimes its kind of annyoing to navigate. gameplay here is kind of dull, i can live with it though..

PLACEMENT:
Its ok, i like the ammo placement here. there is probably too much powerups for a level sized like this IMO. well, i think its ok, and i can live with it.

OVERALL: Quite average level.. download recommedation if you like battle alot.

Small sized CTF level by Dx. here goes.

EYECANDY:

Best aspect in this level. i don’t like it though. reminds me of semi a bit, but eyecandy isn’t that good here though. i think some tiles were used incorrectly, like those circuit board tiles at layer 5. eyecandy looks messy here, and i don’t like it too much.

GAMEPLAY:
Not good. many sucker tube events here are very annyoing, and you should probably avoid suckers here. level is too small, and navigating is hrad + its hard to get on the bases.

PLACEMENT:
I don’t like about placement, i can live with it though.

OVERALL: Average CTF level.

heh, this conversion is perfect IMO. i think i used to play Xargon like 6-7 years ago, so i can’t tell if all tiles are included, but i still think so. i don’t think this conversion misses any tiles, which is very good thing. there’s some nice extra stuff too, like the aweosme textured background, nice looking rain tiles, and some other stuff im too lazy to list. masking is very smooth too, and i like it. nothing wrong with the masking here. tile placement is good enough, and i think this tileset isn’t too hard to use. some animations can be hard to understand though. overall, this is very nice conversion by Spaztic. download is recommeded. im going to rate this as 8.5 for the reasons i’ve mentioned.

CAT MAZE

This is very good race level. i think you once hosted this online, i didnt play this much though, maybe, some minutes, and then i left the server. well, its still very good race level. eyecandy / tileset use is the best part of this level IMO. tileset was used rightly, and i can’t find any eyecandy bugs. gameplay and race obstacles are kind of good too, and i like it. one of the best race levels ever IMO. ( really. ;p )

EYECANDY
Very nice. i like it. BlurredD’s Psych edition is cool tileset, and you can create very nice levels with it. ( this level, waterfall caves.. etc )
I like the eyecandy alot. there’s lots of it, mushrooms, flowers, and even cats. background layers are nice too, and i kinda love them. i like the way you used the tileset too. there’s no tilebugs, and everything looks nice. tileset choice was good too,since i never saw much levels with this tileset.

GAMEPLAY:
Very nice. there’s lots of standard race obstacles, which are very cool. myself i like the X – block and 4x block combinations. i hope you understand what i mean by the way. my english is lame, but now back to the subject. yeah, all these race obstacles are kind of nice, and i have no major complaiments.

FUN FACTOR:
These levels are quite fun, and i would host these online, if i could host. too bad i can’t D=
Well, i like this level alot because its fun.

OVERALL:
Very nice race level which has standard tileset use / good eyecandy, onee of my favorite race levels ever. you did good job. congrats. this level is fun to play too, and i really can’t find complaiments. level could be bigger.. well, then again, im not experienced when it comes to race levels.

SOME RACE LEVEL

EYECANDY:
I like it. it looks awesome. i like flying leaves in the layer 1-2. ( i dunno which layer. i didnt check )
they look nice. well, trees, and the background looks cool too, and i can’t find complaiments about it. there’s some waterfalls too, which fit on the level. heh, almost perfect score from the eyecandy. i like the color where background fades into, because it fits in the level, gives this level a good atmosphere.

GAMEPLAY:
This level has a very good gameplay. level is not too big or too small IMO. i like race obstacles here too. the “wind tunnel” part is probably my favorite. i don’t know why. its just is. don’t ask why. other obstacles are nice too, and i can’t find serious problems or cons from the gameplay. good job, this level has a very nice smooth gameplay. this level has original race obstacles too, by the way, which affects in my rating. the part where i fall to the water is nice touch, because i think its very original. or something.

FUN FACTOR:
This level is very fun to play. i guess its the right size,( not too big or not small )and original eyecandy / gameplay ideas. if i could host, i would host this level too, because its nothing but rux.

OVERALL PACK:
This race pack is very good, and i like it alot. Good job, you made a good race pack. i like these levels alot, and like i mentioned above i would host these if i only could host. i like this pack alot, and it gets a high download recommedation.

ill give this a review too. not a long one because im not on the mood.

Conversion Completeness:

there’s some tiles missing like Violet said, ofterwise everything is there. waterfalls, splashing rock tiles, spring flowers, vines, & other stuff. overall its very good conversion, and most stuff are there.

Extra stuff:

Some sings, like the one saying “LRK”, and destructive blocks are there. there’s some sucker tubes too, which would look nicer. ;p
there’s signs too.

Masking:

Very nice masking. no complaiments.

Palette / Colors:

Very nice. there’s lots of colors, and required poles will work fine. textured background is ok too.

CONCLUSION:

Its a very good jj1 conversion. BG or FG eyecandy would have been nice though. im going to rate this 8.2 for the reasons i’ve mentioned.

Best remix/ instrument change i’ve ever heard. i actually would use this, too bad its an mp3 file. ;(

i like instruments alot, they’re greatly chosen. they all fit here. i hope i spelled that right.

music sounds great. i love it. its so kewl because of the insturment choice. makes me think of a mine. abandoned mine. or something like that. huge download recommedation. ;)

[ BTW, im not going to rate this, because i don’t know how to review music files. in other words, i don’t have good system to review remixes/insturement changes, or whatever they are. i just like to comment them]
