Royal Rainforest

First impressions of this level was holly cow, this level has more backround
layer 5 than 4…then I decided to review it sense he said “This is probley the best level ive made yet”. Well, I guess where gonna find out.

Gameplay:

Gameplay was maybe not the best but it was good. The game had a good flow to it and the springs where placed in the right spots. No bugs from the springs like Hitting the Ceiling of the level or something. The game actully has a point to it. At the top you can get to the ctf bases alot quicker and have the Full NRG carrot but there are no weapons so it makes you not take that route all the time.

Eyecandy:

First impressions….WoW! When I first looked at this level and saw that it was using the most overused tilesets and I was kinda pissed. But Pj7 Used the tileset verywell. Everylayer except layer 2 was used. Layers 6 and 7 like like the layout of. The tiles where used nicley and everyting fits perfect. Remember how everylevel can always improve with eyecandy, well, as I can see this level has to be one of the levels with the most eyecandy. Tons of it. All I have to say is, great job on the eyecandy.

Weapon/Carrot placement:

Ill start of with the carrot placement. I think there is only one carrot and it is enough. It is placed ver evenly and it;s easy to get to. now on the other hand..The weapon placement wasnt as good. Now im not saying that it was bad, im just saying that the weapons lack in some areas. The Powerup’s are placed evenly but I rely dont like where you put the seek Pu. Matters not but it does matter. Overall its an okay job.

Overall:

Well, the gameplay is even, the eyecandy is unspeakable, and the weapon placemtn could have some improvement on. I rely dont think Weaponplacemtn can get a 10. Like the highest score I give weapon placement is like an 8.5 but thats not the point. Its a good level, tileset used very well. Pj7….Keep it up;)

Forest Chamber

Okay, lets see…this level was not one of the best levels I’ve played in. Although it seemd fun to play in the tileset I wasnt a big fan in.

Gameplay: Well, the gameplay was pretty even. Although it can get a bit comfusing in the beginning you get used to it real fast. The springs are placed well and evenly and they dont hit the ceiling or anything. May I make a note, At the seeks, jazz can get some of them but not all. Other than that its pretty good. Overall, it had a Good flow to it.

Eyecandy The level looks great. Layers used real well…And I like How you used layer 2. Layer 8…heh…YELLO. The level fits as of right now. Im not that strict on how the tileset fit but I might find some bugs later on. Overall It looks good..No bugs…Tiles fit well.

Weapon/Carrot placement Hm..well, I can tell you the carrot placement was excellent. One thing about the carrot placement..the +1 carrot’s(2) seemd a bit close the the bases, but thats somewhat okay. The full NRG carrot was placed in the middle as where it should be placed. Good job on that. On the other hand, the waepon placement wasnt as good. Well..the Pu’s where placed evenly and the seek Pu was placed in the middle which is good but the one weapon that threw me off was the Fastfire. Im not reallly a big fan of fastfire in CTF levels. They just seemd not right, there was also to many of them to close toghether.

Layout The layout is really the most important thing. The layout you choosed seems to be one of the most popular layouts. I even used this layout in one of my levels(not released). I’d like to ssee somethinga it more creative but it seems this layout is also one of my favorites so you got lucky.

Overall the Level was decent, it was not the best but it is good. This could be a level that you could say “WOW” and in other terms it would be “YUCK”. So it depends.

Ice Cream Island

I heard Birdie a few days ago talking about this level. It was supposed to be called “Waffle Wetlands” but I guess he changed his mind and went with Ice Cream Island. Yesterday, Ds hosted the level. It was very unique and had some good ideas in it. Today we played a 3v3 with the level and it was pertty fun to play in.

Gameplay:

Well the game play was actully very nice, it had a good flow to it. Teams where pretty even except sometimes you find one team having an advantage. If your the read team you almost have complete acess to the Seek powerup, but if your on the blue team you can shoot seeks into the red team with out getting pwnd as much.

Eyecandy:

Eyecandy was indeed very good. There where lots of tilebugs but what can I say, thats not Birdies fault, its the tileset. The Backround was perfect. It makes it look more like a Jungly beach. Layer 5 Was used good with all the cabins inside the sand.(Or whatever) The icecream made the level have alot more eyecandy and it fits the level. Overall, the tiles fit, It looks nice, and Im happy.

Layout:

Before Birdie made the tileset he showed me the layout. It seemd confusing untill I actully step foot into the level. N/A

Weapon/Carrot placement:

Weapon placement was very good. There are enough of seeks and rf’s. Same with bouncers. This level doesnt use annoying weapins such as Freeze and TNT. Carrot placement seemed like it was though out a bit. 1 Full NRG and 1 +1 carrot.

Music choice:

All I have to say is this music fits and it sounds good.

Overall:

Overall I have to say this is one of Birdies best creations. Id like to see you make more levels like this. And the text string is also very nice. “Made with SNZSPPED”. With a TM.

1.23+ (XMAS RELEASE)

+Introduction+

Wow Gry, great work with the patch(Including everyone who helped with it) This patch is very easy to work, just unzip everything and put it into your jazz2 folder. It’s that simple. This patch also has alot of fixed bugs.

+Fixed bugs+

Bah, even though this is in the readme i’ll go head and mention a few.

  • Fixed warptarget(If NO warp target found you wont crash)
  • Run more than one jj2 window.(At last someone has fixed this bug!)
  • Server is crash protected.(Pretty much has NeoAc installed in it)
  • Teamchat works regardless what socket players are in.
  • No seek holes
  • Respawn on at all times
    - And a few other I don’t feel like listing.

+Client abilities(All players)+

I will list a few abilites of what every character can do without being the server.=O.

  • Weapon change(Have a weapon you want, pick a new weapon that you hate and it doesn’t change.)
  • np(type “/np” and you can see what music your listining to or what you want to know you could be listining to.)
  • Change music(Change the music of the level without being the server)

- These are all great stuff that you can do without being the server but there is even more abilities you can do being the server.

+Custom game Modes+(Only for the server)

Here are a few game mods that I think are the best in my opinion that you can do in charge of being the server.

  • koth(A gamemod called king,of, the, hill.)
  • Temabattle(Ctf but instead of capturing the flag you kill people to score points.)
  • instagib(1 shot, 1 kill)
  • LRS!(One of my favorites. Its when you try to be the “Last rabbit standing”. Meaning you dont have to kill rabbits to win, just be the last rabbit standing.)

- There are a few more game modes that I have not listed but you can find them in “Commans section”.

+Server controls+

Heh, well, this is ment for the server of course. This patch has tons of controls for the server which is great. I will list a few below.

  • multiversion(This is very usefull but it can also be very annoying. Pretty much says that other versions besides 1.23 can join. It can be annoying somethimes becasue people that dont talk english join your server and alot of them can be newbies.)
  • private(Change public to private)
  • servername(Change servername)
  • password(Change password)
  • rename(=o, I like this one a lot becasue if someone is being an (-) hole you can piss them off by changing there name. Don’t abuse this though.)
  • allblue(Makes teams all blue.)
  • allred(Makes teams all red.)
  • changelevel(Changes to whatever level you want to play next)
  • restart level(You know what this means)
  • Countdown(Use this in LRT)
  • stealthkick(CTO for 30 seconds. Be EVIL!)
  • Kill(I love this one. You can kill someone else without being you.=o.)
  • spectate(View any player you want. Useful in duels when your just watching.)

-There are so many more to list, im just getting to tired to list them.

+Conclusion+

Well Gry, I have to say you did a fantastic job in doing this. It was a lovly *Christmas* Present for me. Keep up the good work.

There are a few problems with the patch as I have found out. I know you said it wasnt finished and thats fine but one of the problems is when I host a server between 10-30 minutes the server freezes. I wont change the rating becasue the progam is great but I’m just letting you know this ahead of time.

Haunted gardens

First of all I have to say this is very mest up. The layout isnt that good at all and there are way to many bugs.

+Gameplay+

Gameplay isnt that good at all. Some of the springs are to strong. The level can also get very confusing and difficult to play.

+Eyecandy+

The eyecandy has been better than your other levels but still it doesnt work out. Some of the tiles dont fit and the level seems empty. Add more eyecandy!

+Weapon placement/music+

Weapon placement is okay. Some times I found out there are too many weapons in one spot. The music doesnt fit in this level whatsoever. CHANGE IT NOW! I dont even know why you picked this music.

First of all, why is there a warp that comes out of no where. There are also a few spots where you can get stuck very easily and it gets every annoying.

Carrotade v1.0

First of all I have to say this OWNS! Carrotade is a great program which is a combination of Forest, NeoAc, and Project controller. If you don’t know what these programs are, then look them up.

Features

Now Carrtoade has many different features. These are some of the most common that I
Use and some that I don’t use as much.

  • Instagib
  • Kicking/banning player (Pretty useless. You can do this feature without Carrotade)
  • Cycling games
  • Starts/stops games
  • Log players stats
  • Shuffle teams (Ctf)
  • Swap (Change a certain player’s team)
  • Cycle Level filename (Cycles the level if it exists)
  • Next level filename (When you cycle (/c) It goes to this level if it exists)
  • Shuffle level (When cycling, it is shuffled)
  • Team battle (Only capable when hosted in Ctf)
  • Roast tag (Only capable in Battle)
  • Save settings (well of course this is important)
  • Capture (Whether you can capture or not. Useful in duels)
  • Cycle
  • Auto cycle
  • Off (Turns of custom mode. Custom mode= Roast tag/Team battle)
  • Fix seek holes
  • Laser protection
  • Ip logging (This is indeed very useful)
  • Weapon respawn (Yay, this program does have respawn on it)
  • TSF compatible (Even though I don’t play tsf often, It’s good for other people who do)

Pit Levels

Pit Levels are pretty cool. A pit level was a great Idea. When you host a pit level they work well when you host them in Roast tag (/rt)

Roast Tag

This is a very unique idea. Like blur said in the “read me”, it’s kind of like Play tag. When I think of Playing Roast tag, I think of playing king of the hill. Blur calls it the “Eva’s Ring”. The instructions on how to play it are in the read me so I don’t need to explain any of that crap

BUGS!

1 – One of the bugs in Carrotade is it wont start when you don’t have JJ2 running. When you host a server when you already have the program running it wont work, so you have to open JJ2, host a server, then run the program Carrotade.

2 – Another bug is in Pitfall, I think overlord already explained this but you instantly die when you hit the pit, actually, you don’t hit the pit and still die. Anyone could double jump out very easily with spaz but it isn’t a HUGE bug.

Summary of Carrotade

To wrap this all up, I have to say this program is very useful. If you people are looking for a program to play evil, well, this isn’t for you. No, it does not have renaming the players on it, but who cares, all that matters is that this program kicks (-). Download recommendation, of course. If you don’t download this, it’s either you don’t have common sense, or you don’t have the ability to host. Great work blur, asome program. Keep up the good work.

Next time you might want to put some tilesets in so people don’t have to spend hours finding what tileset matches the level.To make the level sound better, you could also put some music in it.Just my opinion.

Pretty good level. Very moody.

Flag placement – Pretty good places where you put them. I like where they are un the top upper right and left corners. I am grateful where you put them. No ctf bug, Yay! 8/10

Carrot placement – These are okay spots where you put them. They are pretty even which makes the game fair for both teams. 8/10

Ammo – The warp secrets to power ups. A classic. One to rf’s and again one to seeks Pu.The ammo is placed pretty evenly. The bonus is pretty cool too. 8/10

Layers – Pretty much every layer is used but im just looking at the level my self.Layer 1 isnt used but that layer is hardly used at all. Placement of the layers if good and layer 2 was used good with the trees. 8/10

Music/tileset – Atlantis is perfect for this level which makes it moody and peaceful. Tileset. THis tileset is perfect for the level you used. It matches with the music you used. This tileset isnt very common but I like how you used a tileset like this. It gives us something new. 9/10

8/10 + 8/10 + 8/10 + 8/10 + 9/10 = 8.5!

Hmm…Good job. This music is very well balanced to perfection. It seemed to get better as the song went on. In the beginning I was like “omg” not a very good start.It seemd very boring in the start, then all the sudden it’s like BAM, out of no where when you start t feel the rythem of the song. It did improve as it went on.I look at a piece of music like an essay. You want to make it better as you go along, then have a good ending. So this is what im gonna do, I think I’ll give you an 7.5 because of the balance and the improvement as the song went on.The reason why i took of . 5 to make it a 7.5 is becasue I dont think I would use this in any multiplayer levels. I would recommend putting this song in a single player level but that is just my opinion.

Dowload recommendation…, depends.

LaYOutZ CTF Package

Hm, pretty good package of ctf levels. There are 3 Ctf levels included in this pack which are: Something else, Limenade, and UndergroundSpacebase – Area51.

Something else

Gameplay: The gameplay is actully pretty good in this level. Springs well placed, and very easy to get around. Ctf placement is also very important and Birdie did as possible and as good as he could. The suck tubes when you dall to the bottom is interesting. If yo fall you lose time, makes enemy get an advantage for capturing the flag or scoring. =o.
9.5/10

*Eyecandy:** Hm… This level fits together real well. Every tile and such fits perfect. Backround layers look great. Looks like im inside a computer, =o. Springs placed well.

*Ammo/carrot placement:**

Ammo placement overall was pretty good. Seek powerup was placed evenly so no team has an advantage. Bouncy Powerups were also placed evenly on both sides. Carrot placement was good. 1 full NRG carrot. Placed evenly so both teams can get to it easily.

Limenade

Gameplay: This level can get a bit confusing, capturing the flags and scoring. It took me almost 10 minutes to even capture the flag. I have no idea why it tok me so long, maybe becasue at the time I was looking for bugs, but still. Very confusing.

Eyecandy: Eyecandy, okay job. Every thing fits evenly except the v-poles. They look all crappy together. Get rid of that Birdie. Its crap. The springs and suck tubes fit evenly, and well balanced.

Ammo/carrot placement: Well, the ammo placemetn fits all together evenly. Carrot placement. There is 1 Full NRG carrot. The carrot in the middle fits evenly. All the fruits on the outside make it look all pretty.There are also 3 powerups. 2 seeks and 1 toaster power up. They aren’t as even as they could be. And 2 seek pu’s seems to be a bit much.

Bugs! Ahhhhhhhhhh! I found a bug. It;s not that big of a deal but on the left side and right side of that crapy v-pole there is no event. Opps.

UndergroundSpacebase – Area51

Gameplay: This level is indeed very exciting. Its sometimes easy to get lost but you can usually get back on track. A bit confusing but not that much. Once you get used to it, the level turns out to be every exciting.

Eyecandy: This level has good eyecandy. Level fits evenly, tiles fit in place, springs and suck tubes work out well. Eyecandy in this level seemed to be the best. Backround layers

Ammo/carrot placement: Carrots. There are 2 carrots. One on each side. Well placed and balanced. Ammo placement well placed for both sides. No team has an advantage for the ammo. There are 2 powerups in this level if im not mistaken. Seek and toaster pu.

First of all i must say this ROXS.
I say this because we have been needing a Hotel Helper for a while and now we finallly have one. I’m so happy. I am always tired of recording the stats on a piece of notebook paper, and now I never have to again .HAHA. Plus this program is very easy to use. All you have to do is put in an x and y number. It’s just so easy.For all you Hotel lovas GET THIS PROGRAM NOW Great job SAL, keep up the good work.
