Um, isn’t this exactly the same as tcp/ip hosting?
Evil Pim, please re-upload this properly.
Please upload a file that only contains normal ascii chars, no weird chars. It has to be a zip file.
I won’t rate this.
I must say I didn’t like the Alienator tileset levels that much. They were.. small and the gameplay wasn’t superb.
The Nuclear CTF level with the tileset by Dethman was very good. The eyecandy rocked. The only things were the obstacles(the cans) standing next to the bases. This decreased the gameplay’s fluency. Also, the green spring before blue base makes it hard to reach the blue base because you get on another platform. Making it a red spring would have improved the gameplay.
Had you removed all the obstacles and weird passages the level would have been easier to navigate, which would have improved the CTF gameplay a lot.
Please include the tileset with this upload, instead of uploading it seperately.
Bjarni, instead of uploading everything again so all the good reviews you got disappear, you can also go to the other Junglerabbit and press the reupload button. That way the reviews don’t get lost.
Great level. Great and original design.
Great use of the tileset.
Because of the emphasis on the defense the gameplay gets exciting and fast.
The level has two “forts”, both have guardrooms, and some obstacles making it easier to defend, somewhat.
One of the things I really liked was it having two ways to access the base of a team, from above and from under. And the attacker can easily escape through the warp, making the gameplay again faster.
I like both versions just as much. Their gameplay differs, which make each match different.
Big download recommendation![This review has been edited by Fquist]
Get Palette Suite by ToxicBunny instead, sorry Splash. :)
Thanks for the bug report.
Please re-upload the level instead of uploading it again entirely.
Re-upload, CelL
I’ve seen much worse first tilesets!
Much, much worse :)
The eyecandy is not that great, but what’d you expect from a first tileset?
It has most of the standard tiles tough, and even eyecandy decorations and a second platform type. You can’t say that of many early tilesets. ;p
There are forgotten tiles tough, there are no diagonal tiles with a yellow bg(the yellow bg this tileset contains is unmasked and for use in layer 4) and there are no H-poles.
Now, the background is funny, but because it uses the same color as the foreground, there is too little contrast between the fore and background. I don’t know how the author should have solved it, because it adds to the mood too. Maybe make it another kind of dark, just a little bit different from the foreground. The eyes should have been a darker red.
The masking is pretty okay, tough the diagonal tiles are quite useless because you can’t walk up. This is a masking bug. One of the little masking bugs there are, if there are any except this one.
For the rest, well, this is a newbie set. :)
Tough I have to say, at least it has a theme and isn’t as bad as many other tilesets around. If it had a bit more texture, and some more shading(shading is nonexistant :)) it might have gotten a 6.5 or a 7, depending on the quality, but I’ll go with a 5 now. In my book a 5 means effort has been put into the tileset, but it still doesn’t have very good eyecandy.

The bg wall tile is not that bad, but the floor tiles totally don’t fit with it. There are nice vines.
The background is nice.
Most of the rest is ripped.
Sorry, I can not see why this was rated higher then 7. Sevens should be given when the tileset is pretty usable and nice.[This review has been edited by Fquist]
Sorry, I have been a bit harsh. While this tileset isn’t really usable, it’s still nice for a begin. But I am not going to rate it higher because it’s on of your first, we do not want to screw up the ratings here.
Continue making tilesets, and good luck![This review has been edited by Fquist]
Great tileset.
My only dislike is the nature ground+grass, it’s still kind of weird and has too much straight lines. Nature is curved ;p
[boo to nitro][This review has been edited by Fquist]
Please include these tilesets with the level instead of uploading them seperately. Re-upload.
Besides, the tilesets are already downloadable at this site.[This review has been edited by Fquist]
The layout is not THAT bad. ;p
And the eyecandy is supposed to be almost flawless, I worked a long time at removing all kind of glitches, as psych is far from the easiest tileset.
Now that I look at it, Nitro, the foreground speed IS a bit irritating. The background speed is normal.[This review has been edited by Fquist]
Nice tileset. Good mood to it.
You thought of a theme and created it well. Themed tilesets are good.
What I don’t like from the set:
- Not enough variation in the rocks. Make somwhat bigger stones, or stones with small spider webs or cracks or something like that..
- The grass is bad.
Please write your reviews in english, except if you can’t talk english. I’ll see it through my fingers this time, but please keep this to one time.
Re-upload the file..
Eyecandy: 3.5/5
The eyecandy doesn’t contain any huge bugs, but it also isn’t anything special. It’s hard anyways to make detailed eyecandy with the mez tilesets. The tubeelectric jj1 level had some details, I’d say it’s the best level, were it not that it has the worst design of all.(albeit original..)
Design/Gameplay: 3/5
The gameplay isn’t very smooth. You have to do a lot of little manoeuvres that cost you time, which is a no-no in battle. This is exactly the reason I think the tube-electric level is the most original level in the pack, but the worst in design. You have to manoeuvre all the time.. imagine you have to jump into one of those sucker tubes with 10 bobbys chasing you..brrrr.
However, the design isn’t too bad either. It’s pretty original.
Conclusion: 6.5/10
The design could have been more smooth. You can’t have a battle frenzy if you have to spend your time on getting from platform to platform.
You do show that you can make original stuff. Just make it more smooth.
(Fquist’s tip: Put a one way after a exit of a upwards going sucker tube, so you don’t keep bouncing after you’ve left the tube)[This review has been edited by Fquist]
