I’m not much for full reviews, so just shortly – I really enjoyed playing this, even though it’s so much different from other levels. It’s a testimony to what can be done with jcs. If you’ll play this with open mind and appreciate what it’s trying to accomplish (more realistic story and level design), you’ll enjoy this a lot!

This was a pretty good pack.

The Lost World Episode by Ninja Dodo was a little hard to get used to at first. I mean, admit it. It had decent, but not overly great eyecandy. Most of the music was animal noises and crashing waves (and stuff like that). The story wasn’t very original (unless you’ve either never seen Jurassic Park, or else never heard of it). The tilesets weren’t the greatest in the world. The levels were pretty simple to beat.

Stopping between levels to watch cutscenes was also rather irritating (Although I applaud the creative and successful use of the technology).

However, for some strange reason, I found myself drawn to playing LWE. Why? I couldn’t tell you. It was just fun.

Nothing was overly spectacular…but then again, it worked well enough to make the pack enjoyable. It wasn’t the most original singleplayer episode out there, but it was decently well executed.

Maybe it was the mood. Despite the aforementioned so-so tilesets and average music, it made up for a lot of shortcomings, since it was actually not bad.

What should this episode be rated? Probably in the 7.5-8 range. I refuse to overrate it just because it has actual video cutscenes (which I actually think detracts from the story, since it slows it down) which tell a story simple enough to be explained in text strings, or at the very least with a “text and/or picture tileset”.

Nonetheless, it’s a solid pack, and it’s worth a download.

The graphical quality of the tilesets is a bit iffy and the level designs are rather simple, but the overall atmosphere achieved in these levels is still amazing. Like Another Story, it’s more a cinematic experience rather than an active one.Very few levels since gave me the same feeling of immersion in the environment as these did here.

Well, I like the interesting approach with the music, with each level using just ambient sounds and a song constructed entirely from ambient sounds, although the .avi files are using an obscure codec that the newer of my computers does not and cannot have.

As for the tileset… there is no quality to speak of. The tileset looks like it was drawn by a total novice.

The installer package (the .exe file) method of packaging JJ2 levels is impractical and unusable in most situations, in addition to the uninstaller file using the common “uninstal” mis-spelling (I’ve seen this too many times before, C&C modders have done this too).

Overall, it nets a maximum of 5.0, only because the horrid tileset handicaps the rating.

@Mortalspaz: No, this level was made by Ninja Dodo. Shortly after the time of TSFs release, Epic held a competition on creating easter levels. The entries to this contest were all bundled together in CC’s release, which are the easter themed levels that come with the game. Basically, they are not by Epic; they were built by JJ2 fans.

But if i wouldn’t notice here is the review.
Eyecandy has lots of bugs, you can get stuck very easy.
Gameplay is poor, you have a few crates and enemies get out of a wall after you stomp a crate.
Tileset use is good only that there are bugs(LOTS)
Music: The standard Easter music: Frolick Lane
Enemy placement: good/bad. Only respawning enemies will not do it.
Picups: Few picups but there are some in the boss arena.

Boss: Bilsy.
Fun: Maybe
Hard: No
Long: No
Rate: I will rate a 4.5/10 because of bugs, gameplay and lack of originality.

DR? no! I can’t recommend something that’s stollen!
Oh well then i’m sorry! but my rating is the same!but DR is changed to N/A

Now here comes something that EVERYONE should have yet it doesn’t have a full review. Time to change that!

What this is
This is basically an.ini for JCS that enables holiday hair enemies in TSF and trigger zones for all versions. It works, and that trigger zone event is a lifesaver.

Ease of use
You just drop in into your Jazz2 folder and run JCS. couldn’t be simpler!
10/10

Look
Since this can only be a notepad file i won’t rate.

Does it work?
YES! It adds the enemies and trigger zones without any problems. If it doesn’t work, you really shouldn’t be using a computer.
10/10

Would I use it?
Of course! The trigger zones alone make this a great download and everyone should be able to use them.

Final Score: 20/20
Score: 10
Rank: S
DR? YES! Everyone should be running this INI period. If you haven’t downloaded, download.

A great episode. The best parts were the escape from the t-rex and the cliff level. The tileset is quite strange: it doesn’t seem like another Jazz2 cartoon-style tileset, it looks like computer graphics. You must see it to understand it. A must download!!!
