Uhhh… full with reviews and downloads :))
Okay i’m gonna write a better review instead.
Gameplay
The first level was much better
it had eyecandy some turtles and lizards
there were many dragons which were hidden
but there were too many of them.
I almost found millions of gems in this level.
Well other level could be good like the first one though. There are random musics chosen for each level like castle music in carrotus and all that.
There were many levels with buggy places.
Wow many buttstomp blocks and poles every where which look ugly.
The bosses were very hard to beat well JJINV was all I could do
There was many many powerups,fastfires,ammo,etc.
No chance of dying like that though.
Lol just found 1000 lizards in one level.
Eyecandy
Lol the first level had eyecandy in small amounts but the other levels had many buggy areas and crapped up eyecandy.
Many levels used carrotus with repeated eyecandy all and on.Buttstomp blocks were created just randomly.
Some of epic’s levels were stolen like:
Tossed Salad.
Frog stomp.
They were just edited with some crapped up eyecandy.
Well here is what I have to say.
Well as everybody says quality not qua
ntity.
So there were millions of gems and too many level this didn’t show up to be a good pack better luck next time.
DR?:N/A
Ari
I can’t play on this level, but I waited for it… Memory error :(.
I should reinstal the game, now I can’t play in singleplayer just from JCS, and multiplayer just online :D
ANIMATIONS
All the lava animations are obviously lava. It’s not just a steady flow of lava, but more something like pouring honey or a milk shake. It is thick and has viscosity. (+1)
TEXTURES
The panels on the floors look like something from a lab on another planet. I like that. The Ground looks like a desolate area, and the trees look very dead. It looks like the lava overflowed more than once!(+2)
IDEA AND ORIGINALITY
I haven’t quite ever seen anything quite like this before. I mean, since when has there been a tileset with lava flowing all over the place with the rest of the area being an uninhabited wasteland except for these weird lab-like places here and there? This is obviously very original. (+4)
TILEBUG
There are no tilebugs as far as far as I’m concerned.(+0.5)
EYECANDY
For eyecandy, this tileset is up there with Windstorm fortress. There’s lava, plenty of background scenery to choose from, such as volcanos and a lava red sky, and if you choose, some lava falling from the air! This is total apocalypse! (+3)
OVERALL
Overall, I recommend this highly for anyone with an end-of the-world destruction idea. It has plenty of eycandy to choose form, only one small tilebug, extremely original, and a very realistic lava animation. In total, this is worth 9 points!
Dont hesitate to press the pretty button.
DOWNLOAD NOW!!!!
Wrong upload. Sorry!
Very nice!
It should be included in plus, but with a command, such as /Cameramode on.
It is very original, and very fun if your out and have nothing better to do but explore the level. By the way, well I can, may I ask you how to code text in the middle of the screen? xD
You don’t need to include that tileset.
This Tilesets are really worth it!
Tip: Take a look at the Haunted house winter conversion of Pyromanus to! ;)
Thanks for making this great conversions!
I only need to find an way to modify your haunted tileset so it let me use 13 animation tiles insteed of 3.
The Xmas haunted set, I hope to see it used some day.
I got to play an ffa here with some others.
I’m reviewing this through exchange.
What caught my attention first is the eye-candy. It’s quite varied throughout: Some places look solid, others look random and more natural. The eye-candy is well justified by the theme, which is about reveling a rain forest.
While the eye-candy is quite varied, the layout also reflects that. Is that a good thing? – While the level generally flows well with practice, the flow is quirky in some places, and I even got stuck near the seeker pu (you know the pos _ ).
Other game-play related things like carrots, power-ups and even food were placed well. I didn’t have much trouble gaining health; it wasn’t easy to become invincible, but not a struggle to stay alive either. The seeker pu, as far as I know, can only be obtained by using the copter to bypass a ceiling spring while you have a sugar rush. It’s not too hard to accomplish that, and I’m thankful such a power-up weapon takes some effort (and luck) to obtain, as seekers are quite deadly with this layout.
Not much else to say really. I encourage that players should try this level more in JDC events, public servers and ffa.
Well, I know I should have payed more attention to the background. But the deadline was coming up, and I was concentrating more on the sprite layers. I should have picked a tileset that is easier to use for the time given.
Yes, I feel that carrots would make the level too campy.
One complaint I have is the background is seriously messed up.
Why would any distant, static object ever move faster than something closer? Not only does this break the laws of perspective, it looks ridiculous enough that it is distracting.
Pretty good level with an awesome puzzle, sometimes it’s a bit hard to follow the way to the end. The eyecandy is mostly from layer 4 so it’s good enough. But there could be more.
This level was entertaining to play through and explore.
Gameplay: 8/10
This level may not be incredibly ground breaking or challenging, but I found it fun to play through. The level consists of a large number of rectangular rooms, which may seem like it would lend itself to inflexible, bland gameplay, but this is not the case. The rooms connect in various different ways, and you often end up wandering in the alleys between the rooms. The main mechanic of this level involves changing the water level, and the path feels nicely squiggly. You end up going back into the same rooms occasionally, once with water and once without, which feels like a very efficient use of level space. Also, there are several “secrets,” which can be found by exploring alternate routes. The overall gameplay felt very casual and relaxing to explore the level. There were a couple small imperfections in the gameplay. For example, there are some downward suckers to the right of a save point, and it’s easy to miss the save point and fall in. Then, there’s no way to go back and get the save point. The end also involve a bit too much “find the crate” type gameplay. But overall, I thought the gameplay was well done, and fun.
Eyecandy: 8/10
The eyecandy was also pretty well done. The tileset fit well with the theme of “breathing the filth” and there was some kind of green, toxic snowfall. The level looked surprisingly natural and organic, despite the rectangular rooms. My only complaint is that it could be a little hard to tell apart the different types of destruct scenery underwater, but this didn’t significantly harm gameplay or the aesthetic of the level.
Overall, 8/10
If you have some time, I would recommend downloading and exploring this level.
Another Loon`s level. This time it`s DOM one, nice.
Looks okay, but there are too many spots where I feel like EC is more “JCS” than “nature”.. in overall, it`s a bit too spammy. Also, notice that players will enjoy the landscape instead of focusing on game (except in low detail mode, where you can see white background.. cool) , which sometimes is more important :P
Gameplay.. well, it`s all about jumping/using springs.. There could be some places where you don`t need to use spring to reach another platform. It is good, though.
There is nothing to say about originality, since I didn`t notice anything original. Jumping, capturing CPs, camping. That`s all.
Deserves 8.2 and DR, for sure.
