Iâll never give a PAINT tileset something!
If you will have a very nice tileset,
So use Paint Shop Pro 7 !
Yeah good Tool BUT and nut _â
if i change colors in jazz they wont work up but so what =D
Well, this is almost what I expectedâŠ
GAMEPLAY:
Not bad, but not new, interesting, or different. The layout seems more or less average. But it is much better than the previous CTF levels made. There are, however, several things throughout the level which hinder gameplay. The main problem would have to be with several of the one ways, such as near the red springs at 35,24. If you go up where the one way and the normal solid tile meet, you could get stuck. This is often ignored and it is a small bug, but it can become annoying from time to time (I already got stuck at 37,19 twice). Itâs easy to fix this by making sure that the one way tile and the regular tile next to it both donât have the same masking where they meet together (I had to use 3rd layer to make it work out in my Dark Reign example level).
EYE CANDY:
I canât say itâs above average (I wasnât expecting anything out of the ordinary since you did make the tileset). The eye candy is good, although somewhat average. I canât really say much anyway since the tileset doesnât have the most variety in tiles.
CARROT AND AMMO PLACEMENT:
I might be able to live with the carrot placement, although I question it. There are two full energy carrots near the top (which are probably too close together). But major the problem is, the blue base is closer to its nearest carrot than the red base is. That could be another balance problem. And then thereâs the ammo. It seemed to be distributed unevenly in several places. As for powerup placement, itâs not the greatest, but itâs all right.
HOST THIS OFTEN?
Itâs decent, but I doubt anyone would. If you really like it, yes. If you really donât, no. Iâm giving this a 7.2 (and yes, that rating is somehow higher than Small CTF Packâs rating. I tend to give higher ratings to packsâfor the extra effort and all).
Itâs a nice tileset. Really nice tileset. I have this game on a floppy disk but, it wonât work.:(
Waz is a lot like me. He makes really solid levels in short amounts of time.
This level uses Wazâs own tileset, and is good all around. Layer 5 and 6 look funny though because they look like they have an Auto-X speed sometimes while you are moving. Kind of weird looking. Download reccomendation, all.
I agree with Ninja Dodo
itâs not that special
itâs all a bit of the sameâŠ
Yes I can see how it would be usefulâŠ.. for TESTS as you said, nothing else. But I see its a good conversion so a 7.5 for a good conversion. By the way Violet will be on your back again about using Epics graphics :D.
I dont have rate it srry itâs realy⊠its a good tileset, why a review?
Hmmm first of all boost up the graphics!!!!!!! I cant give it an high rating because i dont like it but some people just like it. a 7.0
the link is broken
Everything Violet said goes for my review. Too linear!!!!
Yeah, this set is avarage. Avarage is the middle rating, 5, not 6.7 which is close to 7 (Over avarage). Youâr over rating this. Why? Because:
-Tiles are too simpel.
-Bad colours.
-Boring background layers.
-The set is overall âflatâ.
-The sucker tubes mask is bad.
-The âspaceâ background is neither blue or black, but brown which is ugly.
Please stop over-rate peopleâs stuff because itâs their âfirstâ, âsecondâ, and âthirdâ. Heck, do I get extra points if I upload my tileset number 14?
Ok, I wasnât planning to review this, but after seeing Executorâs review remain there so long and nobody else rating it something more accurate, I gave in.
STORY: Letâs see⊠Devan is building something with money, so you have to take all the money. Because if Devan does not have the money, he can not use the money. Get it? Get the money.
Pros: Money! Yay!
Cons: A little⊠simple? Underdeveloped? And why do you fight Devan so early, anyway?
Rating: 4.0
TILESET/TILESET USE: Interestingly, while not anything amazing, the eyecandy is ok. The levels, except for the previously-uploaded bleh CTF level, use Toxic Bunnyâs seemingly unknown War Torn tileset. Ok, so the rain looks kind of ugly, and I donât know why the background mountains Move in the first level, but layer 4 fits together.
Pros: Mostly works.
Cons: Some of the other layer eyecandy kind of sucks, the rainbow brick buildings have too much tile repetition and donât look very good.
Rating: 6.0
WEAPON/ITEM/ENEMY PLACEMENT: The weapon placement is ok. There are a few weapons laying around, and an RF powerup, but itâs neither overdone nor underdone. Now, remember how the goal of these levels was to collect money? Obviously, how the money is placed should have some effect on the rating. Itâs all kind of obviously placed, which could be a good thing when you consider you have to have 25 coins to end the level⊠in the first level. In the second level, you donât need the coins, and they donât Do anything (yay, Executor!). So theyâre ok, but not all that good. Enemies werenât all that interesting, mostly just flying enemies where theyâd get in the way. Oh, and the other goodies⊠decent, though underplayed.
Pros: Coins ok, weapons ok.
Cons: Enemies and other goodies kind of boring, coins not necessary in one level.
Rating: 5.5
ORIGINALITY: By this time, collecting coins is not the most revolutionary gameplay. Still, itâs interesting, though Iâd prefer doing so in a less linear fashion. The eyecandy contains nothing paticularly new, nor does whatâs left of the gameplay.
Rating: 3.7
DIFFICULTY: These levels are pretty simple, really. Just make sure you go in all the obvious pits in the first level, and you should be fine. And of course, donât run into the ravens.
Pros: Not too hard.
Cons: Too easy, though.
Rating: 5.0
REPLAY VALUE/FUN FACTOR: Maybe itâs just me, but this pack (and I have played it at least three times to confirm this) did not entertain me enough to want to play it again. The flat design just ends up being rather boring, and the uninspired end boss with the generating Float Lizard doesnât help.
Pros: Few.
Cons: Not too engrossing.
Rating: 2.7
OVERALL: This is not the wonder pack Executor thinks it is. Sure, itâs ok, but it needs work to be more then that.
Pros: Some things are ok.
Cons: Some things arenât. I sometimes feel I could just repeat Overall Pros and Cons for most every level I review.
Rating: 4.5
Pretty average, which is good. Average means youâre on your way.
Oh, and now I at last see that I havent rated this tileset yet so letâs begin.
TILE AMOUNT
Yes thereâs just enough them, I have nothing else to say for this section.
10/10
GRAPHICS
Well seems to be good too, this will be a good link to the Realization section.
9/10
TILE LINKING
Well, I saw few problems with this. Paths and walls are okay but houses.
9/10
ANIM TILES, SPIKES, ETC.
Should be a little more. It seems that there is not much extra or them.
8/10
REALIZATION
Yes! This is perfect. I feel that iâm in the egypt by this kind of tileset.
10/10
+ OR â EXTRA POINTS
3+ Good Example levels
1+ README!
1- Hard to use
OVERALL 9.8 = 9.7
TILESET RANK: Very good tileset
DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION: Must have!!!!!!!!
ENDING COMMENTS:
WOW! Amazing tileset from you Agama, again. Top four tilesets are also your work. Good job! Keep going!
Cool, dude.
Good Stuff:
- easy to use
- good use of background layers
- a few unique blips to put in
Bad Stuff:
- overly simplistic (too much repetition)
- eye candy (texture would help it a lot)
Not bad for your 3rd tileset! Donât be afraid to put something original in it to spice it up.
OK, here is my review:
Good things:
Very well, these two battle levels are not small.that is good thing.
Bad things:Layer 3 is annoying. There are too much powerups, and the gameplay is bad.
Im sorry, but i cant give this higher than 3. my rating is:2.7
This is a surprisingly good tileset. It looks a lot like many of Skulgâs tilesets (for example, Death Metal, and Lava Lamp). Itâs a very simple and small tileset with minimal animations, but so were most of Skulgâs. I would rate this higher if you put in some animations besides that alien thing.
Download reccomendation for level building n00bs who want their levels to look nice, and not have a hard time building them.
cool level!
good things:
the idea
good tileset use
bad things
too many platforms
NEVER trust anything that has âcoolâ in itâs name. They so often turn out to be horrible.
