This Exoticus conversion rocks! All the JJ1 tiles I believe are there, along with quite a few extra tiles. Add a second color variation, and you get Violet CLM’s Exoticus.
Not really any bugs, fortunately. I really liked how there was such a large variety of blocks to choose from [like little purple/gold squares, grassy soil, dark caves, plenty of green and blueish waterfalls, etc. all].
So, to sum up, this is a very good conversion. DL now.
This is a nice tileset!
Has all [I believe] the orig tiles from Deserto, palette’s good, anims are good, I think this set deserves a second look from anyone.
Buggage wasn’t really an issue, which is nice. A second water animation is present in the set [though it looks cruddy], and the silhouettes of the Jazz1 guys is in the set! Yay!
Maybe a little more things like slightly more eyecandy would’ve been nice, but still it gets a dl rec.
well, what a great conversion! Like others have said, Violet CLM’s conversion does indeed seem to have all or most of the tiles from JJ1. Not much to complain about there. However, there is one evil little bug in the level. In the floor and ceiling tiles, if you put the floor right on top of the ceiling, and jump hard and fast enough, you can go right through the floor! :(:(:( Fixing needed.
Music fit well, colors were right on [unlike some conversions I’ve played…], so I’ll give you a good rating and a dl rec.
Well, here’s my 2 cents:
Very, very, very very good conversion! Dreempipes is my absolute *FAVORITE** tileset in Jazz1, and this conversion is no exception. The colors are very well done, the masking good in most places [except in the pipe, which I DID go through, unlike what Blacky said], music good, I like everything here. You included all [I think…] the tiles from the orig game, and this makes me happy. Readers, go DL right now! This conversion is a masterpiece perfectly and brilliantly showing off Violet CLM’s skills as a Jazz1 tileset convertor.
Ok ok, this’ll be the featured one. I hope. Anyway…
DESIGN
Good job, good job. You put in lots of different styles [I like how you put tiles from Stonar and other places into the set], and made it interesting. However, the brown rocks are supposed to be a background, not solid tiles. How do I know? Well, the nature of the secret project I am working on reveals just that. Oh well, that’s what an updated version is for.
EYE CANDY
Lots of it, you again kept the tileset interesting. The water on the bridges, the vultures, the egg[s], it’s all well thought out. Kudos!
USEFULNESS
Well, that’s where I’d wobble a bit. See, it’s such an amazing incredible set, but I think it needs a little work in that area. Esp that black rock background. I dunno. I’m feeling generous, so I’ll give you a good rating.
SUMMARY:
Overall, you did [another] phenomenal job, wowing me again, and I look forward to your next edition. Download this, and have fun!
[By the way, could someone please make a “good” TechNoir set? Just asking] Regards!
NOTE TO READERS: please don’t say this review is helpful. I totally recognise what bantha fodder it really is. :P
Sigh… A jazz1 conversion. How many of those we’ve seen….
But, it’s certainly a good one! As the title suggests, this is a conversion of the Jazz1 planet Sluggion. Correct bg, palette is deadon, fair amount of sluff tiles [tiles that serve no purpose, except to look cool], this is a very good conversion! My one beef is that it is a bit small. But this is not a big beef. Back to the set. It will be infinitely useful to anybody converting Jazz1 levels (whop unngh..), making battles, ctf, or basically whatever you happen to think of. DL. It’s sweet.
The first screenshot looks a lot like the old Crysilis, but the other two look more like an entirely diffrent thing. I`ll edit when I`ve downloaded and looked at it. But even now I think this is worth a 6 for eyecandy alone! edit: OH NO! THE LINK IS BROKEN!
[Rating (6.0) clearance. Please learn to read. – cooba]
I did read, but I thought it might be broken for AOL users or something like that, then downloaded it.(Well, that didn`t actually happen, but…)Next time I`ll review AFTER I try downloading it.
Also, someone below me was able to download it. As I said, next time I`ll do better before posting…
OK! I downloaded it know. WOO! It is above my best expectations! I agree fully with that extremely long, but helpful review. (Am I allowed to enter my rating now?)
I give it a 9.7. Just because perfectity can`t be achieved. But, this is near perfectity! It REALLY is good. Example two has used tiles that make me feel like playing Sonic…which is quite funny, BTW.
So, if you`re STILL not convinced to download this, then you shouldn`t be around here AT all.
On my computer it doesn’t run too…
Every time the same error.
But I think it’s because of windows vista which propably is too new.
QUALITY
WoW. Gooooood job. You put in alot of animations, which makes my heart go “pitter patter”! just kidding. Really, you did do a fine job.
TILES
All there! you got [I think] all the jazz1 tiles for Nippius, and this also pleases me. In fact, it’s the tileset I’m going to use for Jackpack! Anyways, alot of nippius is anim’ed [booboo], so good going, getting em.
BUGGYNESS
NA
EYE CANDY
Lots. Fallen snowmen, ice glinting, this set’s got it all! Great work.

Jazz2Online
On August 2nd, 2004, a new conversion of the Pezrock planet from the Jazz Jackrabbit 1 video game was released by Violet CLM. CLM, known well throughout the community of the Jackrabbit games’s popular website Jazz2Online for his high-quality Jazz 1 tileset conversions, apparently completed the set for some kind of birthday celebration, hurrying to finish it as soon as he could.
“[It’s a] totally untested rush job,” said CLM, jokingly adding, “It’s probably not worth the download.”
The Pezrock conversion, while generally disliked for its questionable masking and distinctly bright color palette, was nonetheless accepted by members of J2O as a solid upload.
“Not [Violet’s] best,” wrote J2O member Blackraptor in a review on the tileset, “Although [he] did a good job, considering it was apparently rushed and had no betatesting.”
“The tileset lends itself well to both single player and multiplayer ventures,” fellow reviewer Trafton AT added.
Overall, despite having some minor drawbacks, Violet CLM’s rendition of the classic Jazz 1 planet of Pezrock portends to be another big hit for the veteran tileset maker.

What EvilMike said.
This is a great jj1 conversion, especially since it uses tiles from so many different places. Probably the best jj1 conversion I have ever seen. But I’m not really sure why this deserves a 10, so it gets a 9. Even agama didn’t get this many 10’s.
Perfect! All the tiles are here! Great stuff!
not very good lvl!!!!!!!!!§§§§§
