Some levels I do not like. Happy Desert, Happy Hell… But, I do like HappySemiconductor, and HappyCastle (jail ;p).
Danyjel, in the game, COMMANDER Keen, Keen all most beats a man up for calling him Captain Keen. He prefers Commander, thank you very much. ;p
This set seems indeed unusable until you look at the example level to see how to use it. The mask is great, and the graphics look very nice. The tileset reminds me of one of the tilesets from Monster Bash (episode 2, levels 1 – 3). It also reminds me of some of Blade’s sets because the centers of big blocks are solid colors. The tileset has basically everything you need. In 8BIT mode, the water looks green. Cool =) The snow doesn’t look too good, but you really don’t need snow here. Still, it’d been nice if you made the snow look decent. Pinball events and poles do not work, either, so I might have to take off a tiny bit. Sorry. Overall, nice tileset. Download reccomendation, definetely.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
What they said, I guess. ;p Nice feel to it, and if you don’t like that certain feel, you can just change the scheme.
It’s not THAT good, you guys. It looks nice, but there are some major turnoffs. The snow does not work right (it’s purple), the pinball events do not have their right colors, and it’s not compatible with poles (carrotus poles, diamondus poles, etc.). You should all ways look for this in tilesets. The masking is a tad bit cheesy. Personally, I’d give the masking 6.5/10. There are no hooks, either. There aren’t any belts, but that’s okay. I think that all space tilesets should include belts, but not many do, so I won’t hurt your rating there ;p The 3D / isometric look is very nice, and enjoyable. However, you ripped all the destructable blocks from the Cool Day tileset, without giving credit. I can tell because they are the same colors. Another thing that this tileset lacks is a black sky (well, not totally black, make it R5 G5 B5) with stars. If you don’t want to use a textured background, and you want to make it look like you’re in outerspace, you won’t want it to look like it’s midnight; you’ll want it to look totally black with distant stars. There are no VPOLES, which are the horizontal poles that let you swing vertically with. You only included HPOLES. You only included an arrow that points up. You should include arrows pointing down, left, right, and if you really wanna get detailed (which not many people do) make one that points in all 4 diagonal ways. There is no water gradient here, so using water in 8BIT mode looks extremely ugly, and I mean EXTREMELY ugly. See some other tilesets, or rip the water gradient from the beach tileset the make water look (sort of) nice (water never looks awesome in 8bit). Another thing this tileset definetely needs is sucker tubes. Space tilesets really all most NEED sucker tubes, to make it futuristic. The most futuristic part about JJ2 is not included in the tileset called Future. Hmmm. The dawn version is rather hard on the eyes.
Overall, 8. Anything about 8 can be classified as very good, so… good job! ;p
It reminds me of the set, Plastic Dreams, and the Commander Keen 5 sets (which I converted, so go download it, or something ;p).
Download reccomendation.
I doubt doing that will work in multiplayer. Anyway, look at some other levels to find out what it is. I’m too lazy. ;p
Pretty solid CTF level. The flow is nicely, all though it’s a big Spaz biased. The size is decent… it’s not too small. Them music choice is nice (I love that song ;p). However, the flag bug is still existing. Put a mask around the ENTIRE level. The flag bug is when it says SNOOZ CAPTURED THE FLAG endlessly, until you are roasted.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Neat, but you didn’t really do much ;p You just converted the .mod file found at Lori Central to .j2b using the Modtoj2b program on the offical site.
The end sounds edited… I never remember the song getting that slow at the end. There are also looping problems with this.
I guess 5.5 would be good for this… like I said, the real version never got slow at the end.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
Pretty neat. Danyjel is right as that the mask is different. The only thing I can rate on here is this eyecandy, which kind of sucks. So, I won’t rate this that high ;-/ I think it’s very stupid that you have to wall climb to get to powerups. How would you get back down? This is battle, not a wallclimbing game. The minute you got up, you’d start fighting your ex-wallclimb partner. Overall, average 6.0. This reminds me of my JJ1: Warzone.
And, I just accidently wrote “Warezone.” That would’ve been owned by teh allmight admins. ;p
Actually, Violet, if you have enough speed, you don’t have to EVER jump. ;p
What Violet said, basically, here. I’ll add some points for decent eyecandy and originality.
And since it’s not warez.
;p
Just kidding about the warez. ITS WAREZ!!!! ITS JUST LIKE (somesite.com)!!! GO THERE NOW!!!!!!!!! :P L33T WAREZ!!!

Bjarni, I was just kidding. Why would this be warez? [This review has been edited by labratkid]
Why do I have this feeling that we’re all going to find out that it’s CliffyB? ;p
Well, maybe it’ll turn out to be someone else who we don’t expect… some really well liked player.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
I don’t know how to rate this if it’s a demo ;-/ I’ll wait until the real thing comes.
Much better. Read what Snooz said. ;p
I won’t rate bed, fine. I’ll rate bad, though ;p What Violet said, here. The challenge level is medium. Not hard, not easy.
Average battle level. I don’t like this as much as your others… the eyecandy isn’t too good. Add backgrounds to your levels, and they’ll look better. ;p The forground eyecandy isn’t bad, but it could use work. The gameplay has a few flaws here and there, but it flows nicely. Download reccomendation, I guess ;p[This review has been edited by labratkid]
The eyecandy actually kind of sucks… on the edges of a platform, you should use the correct tile. Your problem is that you use the 32×32 solid tile for just about every edge, and it looks ugly. The background is bad, too. The gameplay isn’t half bad, though. Sure, there are more bugs than good things, but I see some distant flow to it. The weapons placement needs work, and like I said, the eyecandy is… uh uh. No good. 4.5 from me.
This is pretty nice for your first. The eyecandy is especially impressive, too. I can’t say I like the weapons placement, however. There are too many powerups. The gameplay is pretty nice, all though there were some bugs here and there. If I could host, maybe I would host this once or twice. ;p
I wouldn’t say this would wrap of a good score, but it’s better than your others.
Eyecandy: Very bad
Gameplay: Bad
Originality: Bad
Weapons: Okay / Bad
Bugs: Very bad
This is an overall rather dull battle level with many gameplay and eyecandy problems. Keep trying; I see potential in you.
Upload the tilesets. Foo.
It sucks. It actually makes the level worse. First, -0.5 for making an edit of it in the first place. I can’t stand it when people do this. Braching off from that, it’s awful. Don’t download it.
