Just some fast review :P
The eyecandy is everywhere nice, altough in Evil Canyon and Cells lab kinda boring. Every level has a nice design and name, like we know from cell, altough there’s one big level loop bug in Zaitox Station 67. I think you should download this pack now if you like CTF, but if you don’t, you should decide by yourself.
8.5
It’s dumb to let devan say something like that.
The level sucks. Way too short, way too much enemy’s and no ammo or other events. The eyecandy is just not good, not bad.
Because the level is so short, there’s no ammo and no much enemys, and for the thing devan says, this only deserves a 2.
I did use the /load -rs “c:\program files\mIRC\jj2 add-on\jj2.mrc” command. I didn’t get the echo. But whatever, it works now.
This add-on is simply a must-have. It’s even better than xjj2, IMO.
When you type /readsl, you get a little window, just like xjj2 without the sidebar. It shows you the servername, type, players, version, lag (ping), and IP. Nothing special, indeed. There’s also a “Serve” tab. With this, you can list or create your server. You can choose what version the server has to be, game mode (including coop and race), the usual stuff like name and level (including a very useful “Browse” option) and the difficulty level. You can always choose to just list your server, or to start the game.
When you right click in the channel window and you choose JJ2 SL, you can configure everything. What to do when a server is “unjoinable”, the JJ2 path, what list server to use, auto-update, and to what folder the cache should be moved.
The only drawback is that your fur uses the normal colors when joining a server with this program.
No real “new” options, only 2 or 3, but there are simply NO bugs, you don’t have to use xjj2, and when using mIRC… DOWNLOAD NOW!
9.2, you deserve it.
To Violet: Well, it’s a XJJ2 thats very fast and useful, built-in in mIRC. Since much JJ2 player use mIRC, this is very useful since they don’t have to start XJJ2 again and agin. Clear?[This review has been edited by Fl@$h aka BlewMeUp]
EDIT: Because of all new functions I changed my rating from 9.2 to 9.7. w00t.[This review has been edited by Fl@$h aka BlewMeUp]
The idea of this level is just the normal battle1, but with several “spectator rooms”, where other people can use trigger zones to let boxes of ammo fall down, to let a shield falld own, etcetera. It’s a nice idea, but the leveldesign isn’t by you and everyone can go in the “Big Rabbit” control room to control so that’s unfair. You don’t always see what happens when you activate a switch, and not too much happens, there isn’t a text board that says what will happen so you have to guess, and I didn’t find the warp to get out of the control room so once you’re in the control roomyou can’t go back to the battle.
The idea is maybe good, it’s a bit like the JDC tournament games, but it isn’t worked out. You neve know what you’re actually doing and there isn’t a readme included in the zip.
So overall: Don’t download this, only when you really want everything uploaded to J2O.
A nice program, but it has some irritating things. The font size is too small, especially with a high resolution screen, and the screnn could use a normal blue bar at the top. The most probable host thing is funny, but it’s not very trustable. Maybe it would be a nice idea to also pust a “Host name:” thing in. It should say the name of the server (I mean the nickname) so you can see who started the server.
Overall, nice program. It doesn’t add much features but has a clear layout with a (too bad!) way too small font size. Download recommended, altough I still like JazzTool more.
Hmm. At first, I see that all high raters are friends of CraccoBoy. Hmm.
Okay, my review. The tileset consists of snowmen, ripped tiles from the epic tilesets and ripped tiles from other games. Some tiles are made bigger (bigger size) than the original tiles so they are ugly and pixelated. The snowmen are nice anyway, but with only snowmen you can’t make levels. There is some stuff to make platforms of, some weird animals, some ice and some pole stuff. Also there is paint-drawn stuff, and since paint isn’t that great, the tiles aren’t great. The textured backgrounds are ncie anyway. I would say this: Concentrate more on drawing platforms stuff instead of snowmen and ripping tiles and the tileset would be much better.
Add: I agree a bit with Craccoboy, but I’m not really a “friend” of Disguise and I rate his tilesets high too. And when I see that members of your own clan are rating your tileset very high and me and Disguise are not, I think something is wrong
(Trafton removal. -Flash)[This review has been edited by Fl@$h aka BlewMeUp]
I already thought so. The Hotel Dream is very disguise style :)
No review, to tired and lazy. 9,0.
For some reason I believe some reviewers are biased but I don’t know why. Weird.
Okay, here goes my review on it. I made only the first (and very small :) part so I won’t rate but review.
The level has some enw ideas with the tiles from the jungle set. Altough it’s sometimes very confusing and irritating (Ahem) it’s easy to play this level. I don’t like the very left side of the level. Just black and empty, that’s so bad! Ahem. I don’t know what to write more… inspirationless today. I would give this 7,5.
Nitro, that isn’t actually a review. This is the first ACTUAL review, MWAHAHA! HMM: I started this review when there was only Nitro’s one, and ended when here were already 2. Oh boy :)
Ahem. I think the name “Wisety’s Wonders” fits good. The tilesets are all little wonders on their own. They all are of the quality we know from Nature’s Ruins and Spacey Universe (maybe even better) and they all have very much tiles to use.
Okay, I’ll review each tileset apart and then come with the rating. Audit et Horret (Yes, Latin :)
Winterland Wonder (9,0):
W00t! Snowmans! Snow! Iced Trees! Iced platforms! Great mountains! Yes, this rules. My mouth fell open when I saw the mountains on the background. I don’t know why, they aren’t that special but they are just great. They almost look like compressed photos. Well, maybe a bit too optimistic but they are nice. But there’s more nice stuff in this set. Great platforms with ice and snow, snowmans to place on them, and nice trees. You can make the trees in much forms, just see. There’s small and big ice to hang on the trees (or whatever, look at the set yourself), and it looks nice. What’s more in the set? Two textured backgrounds, the usual big Disguise sign (:P), tubes, destruct blocks, spikes (icey spikes, eek), signs, snowballs, rocks, vines… Everything.
Unreal Imagination (7,7):
Blegh! The first thing that came up in my mind when I saw the set. But when I started the example level, my thoughts changes. This is another great set. The platforms are made up of red and blue pipes, what gives some weird 3D effect, and the layer 6 and 7 stuff is also made of pipes. Green, blue, red and yellow, that are the colors.
The caves scenery is also nice. At the first sight, it looks like black, but when you look closer at it you’ll see it’s also blue and red. There’s some very funny face to place in the caves (and it moves ;), there are again signs, arrows, vines, spikes (blue and red :), some weird stuff, one textured background, tubes and even TWO disguise signs.
Tarzans Treetops (9,0):
At the first sight I thought it was Agama quality. Well, in fact it is almost but not really.
Whatever. This set is fully made up of green and brown tree stuff. Big wooden trees taht make you feel like a little baby monkey when you play fullscreen and that make you think “Where’s tarzan?”. Maybe a nice idea to put some rabbit-tarzan in :). There’s enough stuff to make the most different trees with the weirdest kinds of leaves. The layer 6 and 7 stuff consists also of leaves and ofcourse there are vines, tubes, Hooks, signs, 2 textured backgrounds and again the usually Disguise sign. Possum team, if you need another tileset maker… hint
Space Warbase (8,5):
This WILL remind you of Spacey universe. You will probably think it’s a new version but if you take a closer look at it you see there are big differences. The platforms are much smoother, the yellow-and-black things are better and they are moving, and the panet ground is better. Another thing that you will like: there’s some kind of spinning meteor to put in the background. It’s really nice and easy to use. There are also some weird things to stop you when you come out of a tube, they look like the things the rail organisations put at the end of the rails. I don’t know how to describe better :).
The nice thing of this set is that there are two different structures to make platforms of. It makes the level less boring and more beautiful, so what do you want more?
And again, there are the usually disguise signs, a textured background and the other load of stuff :)
Townsville 2 (8,7):
Well, at least it’s better than Townsville 1 :). WAY better. Now it’s not just a set with some grassy platforms and trees, it’s a great set with houses, smooth trees, and ofcourse the grassy platforms. All of them have much better quality and they are (duh) very SMOOTH. Nice blocks, typical disguise tyle, tubes, vines and the usual stuff :). I must only say that the set looks a bit like Hotel Dream. Nothing to add.
Raging Inferno (9,0):
WOOP! The evil inferno home of the devil! Smooth! Nice! Evil! Burning! Nice!
No I’m not kidding. This set really rocks. Lava bricks are the platforms and everything ahs a red fire layout. Altough you can’t always see the difference between the platforms and the “caves”, you can make very nice levels with this. The set has every form of platforms (dumb sentence) and you can make very detailed levels with it. It has nice stuff like the three spike thingy of the devil (don’t know english word), a hot-lava like background (textured ofcourse), the usually text signs and the tubes. But what I liekt he most is as said the very cool layout (or atmosphere, whatever) of the set. Did I already mention the palette is changed? No? Well, everything looks a bit darker and more evil. Frightening :)
Overall, this set rocks. If the tilesets ahd a bit more variety they would all ahve been 9,0, but for now I can’t give higher than (computes) 8,6? Whatever :)
And be sure to check out the example levels while reviewing! They show how to use the tielset and… Well, check out. 8,5.
Great! 3 Jazz Winamp skins.
Skin 1, Rabbit:
Nice. The best of the 3. Funky colors, they look a bit like the JJ2 textured backgrounds. Some Carrots, and two hamburgers (?). There are also some weird graphics I don’t associate with Jazz, but whatever. Nice one.
Skin 2, Jazz_Amp:
Not great! Mostly black, with some Jazz pictures in it and red letters. I don’t like it too much, every person that knows paint can easily make stuff like this.
Skin 3, Jazz:
Original idea, stolen graphics ;). The skin is made of the Medivo 1 tileset, with the red stones and the gargoyles. The letters weren’t really readable but a frequent WinAmp user knows where they are so that doesn’t matter. Too bad you used the normal JCS-Blue color where you should have used transperant.
Another plus, all skins have also minibrowser and visualisation suppert. Nice.
I think a 6.5 is enough for this. If the Black-Jazz amp wasn’t in this zip it would have been an 7,5 or 8 anyway.
EDIT: I believe you didn’t make those yourself so I changed my rating to n/a. If you want your 6,5 back PM me :P
[This review has been edited by Fl@$h aka BlewMeUp]
I’m at the low-rating part ;)
It could be me, but as far as I know Hunter and Thing are friends of Flea. I’m not sure but this could say soemthing about the rating. If it doesn’t, blame me :P
Okay, my review. I can be short: The level isn’t good. It’s WAY too empty. Much empty parts. That isn’t always a bad point, but the level needs to be big to make emptyness an advantage. And this level isn’t big.
The level is completely Jazz-unfriendly, and even with Spaz it’s soemtimes hard to move around. The gargoyles at the background aren’t that bad, I didn’t really like them anyway. It would be better when you let them move.
The ammo placement is one of the few good points of the level. Not too much, and there are enough powerups, luckily you didn’t include them all.
There are only red springs, and maybe one or two green/blue ones. That’s the “killer” of this level. It makes the level VERY ard to navigate trough.
Overall I don’t like this one. Maybe try again with a level :P
Grab the 5.0 if you want it. Only downloadrecommendation for levelcollectors.
GREAT
Read the other reviews for details. Now or DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :P
I. Want. XP. Support.
I could help you. The only problem is that I don’t know anything about programming :P
I’m to lazy to review every level so I’ll give an overall impression. w00t.
This pack is definetly one of the best Treasure packs in a (big :) while. The levels are great, include enough events, original eyecandy. The only thing is that the navigation wasn’t that easy sometimes. SO overall: DOWNLOAD NOW!
First: Now I understand why everyone nagged me when I didn’t place SP start positions in my Battle levels :D
Review. The level is rather big, with much original eyecandy usage. Sometimes there’s a little glitch when you used the corridors anyway. There are too much carrots in the level, even a invinciblity-carrot. NEVER put that in battle levels! It’s quite unfair.
The layer 6+7 usage is nice. It gives the really castle-feeling and every castle level should have that feeling ;). The ammo placement is good, maybe a bit too much. There are way too much dead ends. Altough I personally think every dead end is one too much :P.
Overall this is a nice level with some eyecandy glitches and too much carrots.
Download? If you like battle.
Rating? 6.5
Person-whoever-you-are-except-the-real-FQuist: If you think this is funny you’re wrong. You won’t get popular this way and not many people will like you. So don’t act that way. I think you are Bjarni Cool, because of your typing style, but if you are not Bjarni: Sorry, Bjarni :D
Mirrow: Nice level. Lotsa eyecandy, and I luv eyecandy. I also like the flashing lights in the background. The crates were very annoying anyway. You should ave made them shootable. The masking isn’t that great at some places, you stop at the wall. The gameplay is good at the other spots, altough sometimes you had to jumpa round to touch the spring and that’s not great. The level is a bit like Happy Castle CTF: The actual level on the top and “underground” an area with ammo, powerups etc.
The level has a great music file, it fits perfectly and rocks. I don’t know, what to say more… Nice level. 7,5

SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME !
I DIDNT REVIEW THIS YET! ARGH
Hmm. Review.
GRAPHICAL QUALITY: 2,0/2,0
WOOP! The graphics are really the best. In my opinion, even better than the original JJ2 graphics. The graphics are very cartoony and super smooth. I’m still wondering how you got this in 256 colors.
FEATURES: 1,7/2,0
The tileset has everything to make platforms. There are two “sections” in the set, one for the egyptian palace stuff and one for the egyptian town stuff. Both have VERY much eyecandy, lika statues of jazz as an pharao, turtles getting stone etc. Very great. The set has also enough stuff for blocks, poles, and even doors. Greatness.
VARIETY: 2,0/2,0
Because there’s so much eyecandy stuff, you can make very varied levels with this set. The set has enough colors, like the sky, the colors of the jazz-wallpaintings, the grey platforms, the yellow-like walls, and much more. Well done!
USER FRIENDLY: 1,5/2,0
It’s hard to find the right tiles sometimes, but when you found them it’s easy to use them. The yecandy si at the top, the platforms at another edge, so you know where to find the tiles to make a kind of platform or palace.
For every kind of structure you want to make there’s a tile. Greatness.
COLORS: 2,0/2,0
Just great. Can’t say more, just great.
OVERALL: 9,5/10
Great, one of the best sets ever for JJ2. You just think your really in egypt. Masterpiece.
- Include tileset
- Change filename, now it has the filename of one of the “Agent Jackrabbit” levels so it will replace it.
Okay. First: Don’t upload it with name “New Tileset” but with its real name. Now I had to search in my 500 tilesets and that’s not that great :P
Review:
GRAPHICAL QUIALITY: 1,5/2,0
The tileset has nice graphics. Kinda Blade style (Look at desert etc.) but not a clone. Altough there aren’t much colors the quality is great.
FEATURES: 1,0/2,0
The tileset has the basic stuff for platforms, hurts, poles, vines, blocks, text, layer 6+7 and some caves tsuff but that’s it. There are no (dead) trees, animals, flowers or that kind of stuff.
VARIETY: 0,5/2,0
I dunno if I spelled variety good, but anyway. The tileset lacks of variety. I looked at the example level for the features and eyecandy etc. because the authors decription said the level shows how to use the set, and I think the level is pretty boring. Only one color, and a color for the blocks and spikes, and that’s it. Luckily the textured bg adds some color, otherwise I would have fell asleep while playing the level.
USER-FRIENDLY: 2,0/2,0
It may sound weird, but I think this set is very easy to use. That’s also the only advantage of a little set: You won’t have to search for every tile. I think it’s very easy to make a level with this, and you can build very fast. Great, waz.
COLORS: 0,7/2,0
It looks like you’ve just used the 256 colors from paint, and didnt optimize the palette. The shadowsides of the stuff is only one color, and that makes the set look like a first set. Altough I know it isn’t and the graphics are probably too good for a first set it’s weird.
Added 1,0 points because the lowest rating on J2O is 1,0.
OVERALL: 6,7/10
The tileset is bascially great. Because its name is just “WAZ04” I don’t know it’s theme so I can’t give extra points for the theme coming out good. That’s a bummer, next tileset should have a normal name. With a bit more tiles, better colors and more features this tileset would be very great.
“Skulg-man”, “man”… Skulg is a GIRL, man! :P. For review read Aiko’s review, rating 8,5. Foo.[This review has been edited by Fl@$h aka BlewMeUp]
