When I played the eg levels (single player first) I thought the tileset was great because of the animated tiles and how the tileset relates to the story (It really has a ‘factory’ feel to it).
I thought the eg level was not as great as you cound make this tileset. (The robots belt could be on the foreground prehaps)
Same with the battle.
LEVELS: 6.5
TILESET: 9
RATING: 7.7
(Try and improve the levels)
(Rating removal. Please do not rate the example levels, they are just an optional inclusion to give you an idea of how some parts of the tileset could be used. Only rate what the files are uploaded as. ~Violet)
I’m not going to rate this in my usual way but this is 10x better than Disguises Mega Metropolis. Eyecandy tiles for the backround and foreground and colours mix in with the atmosphere.
The tileset has also a strange feel to it.
Its a 9.7 from me.
EDIT: Great example level too.
What am I doing reviewing this early in the morning??
Eyecandy 15/20
You have the same nice eyecandy as the example level on Gus’ tileset. Would of scored 17 but please, DONT BE LAZY.
Gameplay 4/20
Just enemies, a boss and something to keep you on the coaster.
Enemies 8/20
You could have used something other than monsters. But there is a robot boss at the end.
Items 0/20
No Items…….
Size 12/20
Well, It is big but when you are playing it, you cant control yourself.
No Bonusses
Total Score 39/100

You call this a level??
It doesn’t even have an exit. If you want to stare at the no. 4000 whilst you’re stuck, download this.
(Hey, I’m just commenting. But this is pretty pointless. Who would waste a 4000th download on this small thing??)
This doesn’t work on TSF:
I thought it was a thingy to get the lazer shield running on TSF. Instead, I don’t even have the laser shield on there.
When I also tried running JJ2, I found tht I had no lighting effects (and the Ambient Lighting option is on).
If you want a completely dead version of JJ1 Song 6 (It would be surprising if you would) this would be no1 to download. This doesn’t make you fall to sleep in a relaxing way, this will make you sleep in a ‘let me kill myself/why am I listening to this ****’ way.
A song shouldn’t use only 2 samples.
First uploaded level eh?
EYECANDY: 6/20
There is no eyecandy (except for the sprite layer and backround but you don’t get many points for that).
GAMEPLAY: 9/20
There is plenty of gameplay but too much of the same. This needs something else.
ITEMS: 6/20
You put only 12 items in the level. You could have put 2 different types of ammo.
SIZE: 9/20
Its probaly no larger than 30×30. Battles should be larger to fit even 2 players in.
OBSTACLES: 7/20
The whole level is an obstacle with all those springs squeezed into such a small space.
BONUSSES/SUBTRACTIONS:
None.
TOTAL SCORE: 37
RATING: 3.7
FINAL COMMENT: Next time if you’re doing a spring battle, try making the level bigger and try adding a little more gameplay (and less spring so you control yourself). Oh and its not great for a first level.
I won’t rate this but I will point out a few things:
Some of the levels made you dizzy or sick. After I played the asteroid level I had the contant view of stars whizzing across my eyes. And the levels where you have to climb up many platforms whilst there is a moving backround made me feel dizzy as well.
EDIT: Please in future make levels where you can find the exit.
Firstly, since I’m in a christmasy mood, I will be nicer than I normally am. Secondly, this is something you wouldn’t rate so ill just comment on this.
When I first tried I fell into a dead end after I couldn’t find the entrance warp. Then after when I tried again I found the warp. Anyway, discos are really common anyway and get bored of downloading these. You should put these in a hotel because then it isn’t such a waste of memory.
Firstly, these are the worst levels ever. I did them in barely 2 minutes.
Anyway, I’ve rated levels that you could complete in 3 seconds, overuses enemies and ammo and the layout is a complete mess. These levels are all of those things.
Dragon ball2
This is the smallest level I’ve ever played. Its only about 20 squares long and high and there is bareley enough space to move around. How did you manage to fit over 8 powerups in less than 40 squares?
Rating: 1.0
Feyenord 2:
I did not have the tileset, you didn’t supply the tileset. N/A
Cool:
I did not have the tileset you did not supply the tileset. N/A
Hotel Bunny:
I did not have the tileset, you did not supply the tileset. N/A
AVERAGE RATING: 1.0
FINAL COMMENT:
What was that?? These levels are as bad as the ‘Falling in an empty square’ levels I create (I don’t put them on the site).
Firstly, this level is a demo and not sure if these are allowed.
EYECANDY: 14/20
The eyecandy in this level is good for the backround. You didn’t make the textured backround move which make the level boring. You missed the oppertunity to add foreground eyecandy which gives the level more detail. Instead there is no foreground eyecandy which leaves the level boring. Overall, layers 5, 6 and 7 are OK but layer 8 doesn’t move and the foreground layers have no eyecandy.
GAMEPLAY: 16/20
The gameplay in the level is not bad. There are some features such as the shell where you have to go under it and ends normal with a boss. Most of the level is in water which is good but haveing the uterus boss underwater make the level harder and as if its ‘blocking the exit’. The bonus warp appears to early which limits the amount of coins and doesn’t give the coins an opportunity to space out. Overall, the gameplay is suitable but there is room for improvement.
ENEMIES: 17/20
The enemy placement is OK. There is water which opens up an opportunity for fish. There are crabs aswell and the level ends with a boss. There is not a completely wide range of enemies in the level but some enemies are sometimes overused.
ITEMS: 14/20
Like I said about the bonus warp being placed to early it scrunches the coins up. There is alot of freeze ammo and nothing else so that is a downside. You have overused the carrots. In a full sized level there should be a maximum of 4 or 5 carrots depending on the size. Overall, there are too many carrots and one type of ammo.
OTHERS: 15/20
The level is small but that is all. (Hey that rhymes:))
BONUSES AND STUFF:
Demo sized -1
TOTAL SCORE: 75/100
FINAL COMMENT:
I might be overrating but rules are rules.
Firstly, great levels before I start the review.
CHRISTMAS LEVELS:
Poor eyecandy in both levels. The levels are a bit easy but that doesn’t matter. The item placement is great and gameplay is great!! Rating: 7.0
CANDY LEVELS:
Better…. Again the levels are easy and eyecandy isn’t great but there isn’t as many errors in these levels as in ‘Christmas’ so that brings your score up. RATING: 7.5
BLOCK LEVELS:
The best out of all of them. There is huge amounts of gameplay in places and these levels are harder. RATING: 7.7
BONUSES/SUBTRACTIONS:
Save point placement in level 1 of ‘Christmas’ -0.2
Platform use in Blocks2 +0.2
Snow use in Candy levels +0.1
Challenges in levels +0.4
Seperate Ammo for levels +0.1
TOTAL: +0.6
AVERAGE RATING: 8.0
FINAL COMMENT: Download this.
This mix is better than the first one but there are still a lot of things that can be improved.
A- Samples (Still to beepy)
B- Pitching- the base is still not in tune with the melody.
C- The intro of the song is too long and boring.
I give this mix a 4.7.
Firstly, you made a zip file (yay!). Secondly, this is just a small level with about five bosses in it. I like the backround but this is not a test. Please try and make tests that are actually tests in the future.
NOTE: Sticking houndreds of powerups in a level is also bad for your ratings.
The weather whist this review was posted was raining but thats not important. On with the review:
EYECANDY: 14/20
Like many levels there is not a lot of foreground eyecvandy in the level but the backround is filled. Tilebug at position 60,75. Is that meant to be there??
GAMEPLAY: 17/20
Some areas lack gameplay but you stuck loads of vines in and used springs sparingly. Good use of fireballs.
ITEMS: 16/20
Some areas lack items but you stuck a good amount in places and used powerups sparingly.
SIZE: 18/20
Good medium sized. Loads of space despite vines.
OTHERS: 17/20
Not bad music file used. Good tileset used but you could have stuck in more of the features it included such as the fountain.
BONUSSES/SUBTRACTIONS:
Fireballs +2 points.
TOTAL SCORE: 78/100
RATING: 7.7
FINAL COMMENT:
I mainly get 7’s so I recommend staying out of the 7 area. I would download this though.
I have (almost) downloaded and rated every newest level there is. Just one note: Please, someone upload something new (No JJ1 levels). Anyway, the review:
EYECANDY: 8/20
What? There should be more eyecandy. There is only a building (or something) in the backround. Anyway, I either forgot some other eyecandy or that is about it.
GAMEPLAY: 14/20
Er….. Use the evnt ‘sucker tube’ to keep players out of bounds and not wind. Wind is annoying and can cause fustration. The good thing is that you used the green spring and float up properly so it (kind of) even out the bad thing that I mentioned.
AMMO: 9/20
There is not enough ammo. Also there isn’t a giant range of ammo.
SIZE: 12/20
Small Small Small……. Too small. If the level isn’t big enough it can cause a range of problems. Limits the amount of ammo and gameplay.
14 EXTRA MARKS CAUSE I CANT THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE TO RATE.
BONUSSES/SUBTRACTIONS:
Hmmmm…
TOTAL SCORE: 57/100
RATING: 5.7
FINAL COMMENT:
Er….That concludes all I can rate for the moment until something new comes out or levels with errors (Can’t play) are fixed. I will be resuming my project. Oh, and I wouldn’t recommend downloading this.
NOTE FOR Ense6:
I will tell you where eyecandy bugs are. I will replay your levels and try to look for hidden passages.
EDIT: I have now edited my review and improved your rating.
I am pretty fond of diamondus levels (especially JJ1) so I was lookinf forward to playing this level.
EYECANDY: 16/20
Its like normal JJ2 diamondus eyecandy only better. I like the foreground waterfalls placed at certain points around the level. Overall, great eyecandy.
GAMEPLAY: 17/20
Hmmmmmm…..The level may seem achingly beautiful, but the gameplay is not as good as the eyecandy. A few springs but the event ‘float up’ is used at the bottom which brings things up.
EDIT: +3 marks for use of ‘One way’ event.
ITEMS: 16/20
The items seem to be placed properly around the level but you could use more ammo.
SIZE: 18/20
The level is somewhere between medium and large sized. Either way, there are alot of spaces to move into.
OBSTACLES: 16/20
Use of one way event kind of provides an obsticle. So does the ‘float ups’ at the bottom.
BONUSSES AND SUBTRACTIONS:
Music:
Suits level +3pts
Different style +1pt
Beautiful eyecandy +4 pts
Total: +8pts
TOTAL SCORE: 81/100
RATING: 8
FINAL COMMENT: The music is different. The only other music file which comes close to being like that is probaly ds_ga.xm (Gaia’s awakening). Overall, 8 is quite rarely seen nowadays so please download this.
I am kind of interested in swamp battles because then you could make great use of water.
EYECANDY: 13/20
Eyecandy is OK. You could improve the backround a little bit. A few tile errors in some parts. Great use of water!!(Like I said in my first comment).
GAMEPLAY: 15/20
I also like water because it improves your gameplay!!!! Some areas lack gameplay so improve that in the future.
ITEMS: 12/20
Some areas of the level could use a little more ammo.
SIZE: 17/20
I found this level quite big. Big areas to move in (except some water areas).
OBSTACLES: 16/20
Water………
BONUSSES AND SUBTRACTIONS:
WATER!!!!!! +3pts
TOTAL: +3pts
TOTAL SCORE: 76/100
RATING: 7.5
FINAL COMMENT:
I might be overrating this but since I love water, I don’t care!!!
