n00b,
the reason for the delay was that I had already used up my upload limit for june.
Use the TSF editor, if you don’t want to play them in order [surely you had the sets before this?!]. If I can figure out a way to make save-and-run work for jp, I will notify you and update the file.
EDIT-Well, I guess I’ll just do that then. I don’t know why I created a separate directory, maybe cause my homecookedlevels list takes 2 minutes to load because there’s so much on it, and I wanted to make it go quicker, but yeah. I will definitely update the concept I had.
EDIT-Faw, I am currently working on an updated version of the level. Better set, it should be a dramatic improvement. This level does need work. But I am very busy now that school is going, so don’t anybody get mad at a late arrival time for levels. I am also currently working on Turtemple, the up-and-coming release, helping OLOELO bigtime on his project, working on the new Fanolint, and trying to squeeze a battlepack in the spare time. So don’t get all huffy.
Thanks, OLO, and I’ll fix it.
BTW, if anyone ever bothers to read the comments, the level’s password is
acid
thnx for the muchly needed review!
Yes, it’s definitely a good conversion, but it IS missing tiles…
Where’s the Jazz1 style background? the Jazz1 style signs? Good job, but you missed quite a bit.
[Review changed to quick review. – cooba]
@Good Job!@
I luv this set. Hard to use, but it’s good.
QUALITY
Very very very, very good. You did a phenominal job on the levels, keeping them interesting, and I like it when people keep me interested. It keeps things interesting. Not too “runonish”, but well done.
TILES
All good, you picked some really nice tiles for your levels. Good going!
BUGGYNESS

EYE CANDY
N/A—-No, just kidding. You put some pretty great eyecandy into the levels [like the top3 levels], and I’m again happy.
PROBLEMS
Not really any
SUMMARY
Overall, good job. You made a sweet adventure, and I look forward to more of your work. DL this, peeps!
Hmm…I’m afraid that your level, while it does have its points, it needs some work. Allow me to explain…
QUALITY
You watched your masking pretty well, but the quality of the level was in dire need of repair. What’s with that pit to the far left? Why is there always 2 [or 4 or 6 or 8…] of every powerup in the same place?! Even I know that’s a no-no. So, weapon placement was OK, but you definitely went overboard with all the powerups. That’d be a real killer in a battle situation. ;(
TILES
Good tileset. I like how its designer found a new set of colors that fit together. Music was mildly funny, too. You made sure that in all—couch, cough, most places you didn’‘t overruse any tiles, but you mostly distributed them pretty well. I liked how in the shaft near the blaster powerup[s] you used the little “x“es. It was creative on your part. However, in the part with all the RF powerups, you used tooo many of the big “x“es. You would do well to pitch some of those.
BUGGYNESS
One of the best points [I think] in this level is that there’s not really any buggyness! At least, not that I could detect. This’ll get you some points, to make up for all the other ones you unfortunately lost. Nice going!
EYE CANDY
Ah yes, and this is another big problemo. No eye candy whatsoever, and this makes me gasp in profound shock. Why didn’t you add any eye candy to your level?!! You could have at least done us a favor. You could have made little ships flying in the background, or maybe some alien structures floating slowly in the coldness of space. Try and do a little work here, please?
PROBLEMS
I didn’t run into any problems running the level, which is always a good thing. At least you got the level to work properly. I do not know if this level will work in 1.23, but remind me to test it out someday and I will. It doesn’t look like it’d cause any problems in 1.23, and it surely worked in TSF. Oh bother, I’ll look into it someday.
SUMMARY
so, to finish up my longest [ever, to date] review ever, let me point out a few things… You done well with your level, even if it needs work. I like to say that a little creativity goes a long way. Next time, however, try making a different battle game, as everybody seems to be making their own versions of battle game 1 these days. Work on the things I pointed out, and you’ll be just fine. It never hurts to go back and fix up an area that needs help, if it’ll save you much in the long run. The music fit just fine, don’t change it. The tileset fit just fine, don’t change it. The concept was just fine, don’t change it. Just remember to fix up the amount of tiles you overrused, the excess powerups, the wierd and strange pit at the single player start [yay! you put one in!], and add some muchly needed eye candy, and I think you’ll be back in business! Good luck to you, and remember that criticism in the negative sense can help you discover inconsistencies. Don’t let it get you down. You’re not a bad level maker, this level simply needs work. Readers, if you want to download this, go right ahead. Even if this is a poorly built level, it’s still an okay one, and it’s definitely usable, even if it needs repair. See you around, kids!
EDIT:
Aw heck, I’ll give you a 10% boost, just for the effort. :)
QUALITY
WoW. Gooooood job. You put in alot of animations, which makes my heart go “pitter patter”! just kidding. Really, you did do a fine job.
TILES
All there! you got [I think] all the jazz1 tiles for Nippius, and this also pleases me. In fact, it’s the tileset I’m going to use for Jackpack! Anyways, alot of nippius is anim’ed [booboo], so good going, getting em.

Well, well, well, an actually GOOD!! conversion of diamondus! I’m totally blown aways! I notice the exemplary quality of your set [the little screens are really cool], and the fact that you made three versions of the set. That;s really neat.
TILES
Aligned very well, it wasn’t that confusing. as for the style, you got the jazz1 tiles, and got them all. Good work.

Tons of loads of it. You certainly didn’t make a boring set, and I congratulate you on that.
PROBLEMS
Not really any. Well, well yeah. No visible problems.

It passed. In my book, at least. Flying colors! Download, people!!
[Rating (2.3) clearance. 2.3 isn\‘t exactly a rating that suits a tileset that you call good. Feel free to readjust the rating. – cooba]
HUH?! How’d it get changed to 2.3? Let me fix that…
When last I reviewed, it was sunny and warm outwheres….
Anyways, let’s get on with this. Well done, lots of eye candy, interesting details, and kooky little things. I like the giant white dice. They are my best friend now, robbing my human counterpart of his happiness and joy…
Not really any bugs, at least not that I could tell. Then again, I never was that good of a bug-checkerupper…
DL NOW, YA FREEEKING IDIOTZ!!!!
This prog rox! NO bugs [I meant—er, mean it…] at all, lots of features [such as color change in multi, and more colors than in just the regular old program too…, name color, and so on…], and it is easy to use. Good job! DL NOWWW!!!!!!

Overall, good. Levels were okay, but they had their problems, such as the odd dead end.
TILES
Incredible. You’re really pro at tileset design, aren’t you? Anywhoo, nice work, lotsa stuff, and just good work.
BUGGYNESS
not really. Please move along…
EYE CANDY
LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS!!!!! This has some pretty nice eye candy. Great for a nice rainy day, when you can avoid mowing the lawn and feast your eyes on this masterpiece…

Amc, dl the Jackpack tileset file.

Could someone please add screenshots for me? My computer saves em in an unintelligable format, and I can’t put thenm up :( BTW, if anyone can fix this problem, please pm me.
All right, pal, let’s get this underway! To start off, you did a good job. There was some room for improvement, but good job. You had some good concepts, and then some not-so-good ones. But let’s start.
QUALITY= -0.6
Overall, very good. You went and made…ok…levels, but about that. You left a completely blind jump in one of the Diamondus levels [arrgh, I can’t remember which], that of course drops you into some eeevil baddies. Not the very best thing. Also, in Tubelectric, there were WAAAY to many sparks in all those levels. I had to fight for my very life, even to get to the checkpoint in level 1 [and there was no checkpoint for quite a while after that]! Points lost for this.
TILES= 1.0
Good. You used good tilesets, and you didn’t screw around with stupid sets. You picked ones that worked. Good going. And you used the tiles well. Another saying [of my own devision] is that too many similar tiles in an area can chase people away. You used a variety. In Tubeelectric, you alternated between yellow log thingys, red and gray pipes and red bricks, and yellow and black bars. Nice! In Diamondus and Medivo, there really wasn’t much of a variety, so I won’t dock you there. But I’d like to point out how you mixed waterfalls, platforms and caves in one area in Diamondus. This was good!
BUGGYNESS= 4.0
Not much here, you got rid of whatever might have offset my view of this episode. Please move on.
EYE CANDY= 5.0
Really nice. In Tubelectric, you made a lot of flashing lights, and you didn’t ever use too much eyecandy in one area [the old saying goes, that eating too many chocolate eggs will make you sick XD]. That in itself was encouraging. I don’t like levels that use too much eyecandy. But anyway. In Medivo you made a lot of grids that you can pass behind, which always looks cool. In Diamondus, you made pretty waterfalls, nice trees and more. This was all good, in my book.
PROBLEMS= -0.5
Well, there was a blind jump, or two. You overused sparks in tubelectric, and there were a bit too many turtles in Diamondus. Uh oh. Can you just go back really quickly and fix it? [jk] Never mind.
SUMMARY
So, what can I leave you and the readers on this site? Simple. Great job, go right ahead and download it. You’ll enjoy it, even if it needs sum work. And Oloelo, nice job. But don’t forget to go back and fix that stuff!
8.9
Cool set. I think you worked hard, so I
ll give you a 9.
Ohh, man. This is a lifesaver! What adam here has done is made a patch that gives TSF a huge memory boost. THis allows for more saves, esp. in big levels, and [I think] bigger levels to be made in JCS. Not sure about that last one. But anyhow…
QUALITY
Very good. You didn’t make [really any] mistakes, and you helped alot of poor unfortunate people out.

SUMMARY
To finish up, I’d like to, on behalf of [I’m sure] everybody here, thank our friend who has so kindly saved our necks. YOU’RE A HERO!!!!!!!!!
DL this now, TSF users, before you die a terrible and painful death!
Well, I bet this’ll be [I hope not] the shortest review of all these, as I’m not the best at length.
QUALITY
Waaay uber good! You picked only the good sets, not the cruddy stuff. Levels were executed well, and it was fun playing.
TILES
Once again, kudos on the tiles. You picked great ones, and made equally great levels. Nice work!
BUGGYNESS
Not really any, but my policy is to never say something’s bug-free, because I’ll probably find a bug 5 minutes later. Still, it’s practically clean.
EYE CANDY
Lots of it. You decorated your levels well, and made them a world of fun just to look at. Boy, if I was that good…
PROBLEMS
Not really any, please move on.
SUMMARY
To sum it up, I’ll give you 9.5, because you did so incredibly well, but the one shortcoming was that it was kinda short. I know, that was intentional. But a bit longer would have been even better. Good job, though! DL this right now, before I come make you!
This tileset is the best!
Well, FawFulcc, I’m planning on releasing an updated version of Diesel, and I will note your ideas when I update it. THank you for your input!
