Eyecandy – Okay / good.
The eyecandy is good… there should be diamonds, though. Take some extra time to put them in. The waterfalls are kind of ugly, IMO. And there’s NO BACKGROUND!!!! Put layer 7’s. You don’t even take my advice in these reviews, do you?
Gameplay – Good
Good gameplay. It’s a bit Spaz biased, because he can jump out of the spike pit, and all. It’s also much easier for Spaz to win.
Enemies – Good
Pretty nice placement… a decent challenge.
Overall – Good
Download – Sure.
Replay – No.

Someone, can you tell us the bad thing? Reviews are usually done to tell the bad things, not the good things. And, you did overrate, kind of =P

Master Cheater, if you average your two ratings together, it comes to about 5.7. Not 8.2.[This review has been edited by labratkid][This review has been edited by labratkid]

What was layers six and seven used for?[This review has been edited by labratkid]

Let me rephrase this – put MOUNTAINS in the back of your level. Put trees and stuff. Look at the background in capture3.j2l. THAT’s a background.[This review has been edited by labratkid]

All though this is extremely small, and has limited eyecandy (my fault for not putting in enough eyecandy tiles), it’s actually really fun to play, which is why I’m not going to rate it lower. The gameplay is surprisingly good for a level of it’s size; all though the ammo placement is nothing great. Make your levels bigger, and you’ll recieve much higher ratings. The bases are placed nice, like DX said, and it’s original.

Eyecandy – Okay
The eyecandy is merely okay. There is no background (layers 6 and 7). I’ve told you 1,000 times to put one in. The sprite layer eyecandy is acceptable, though. But having no background doesn’t cut it. Also, in the textured background, make it fade to blue, rather than black. It’ll look nicer.
Gameplay – Okay
The gameplay is okay… average. It’s not too hard, not too easy. There isn’t much ammo or food, though.
Enemy placement – Good
Acceptable. It makes a pretty good challenge, with the bees and all.
Overall – Okay
Another average level. Make longer levels and put backgrounds on them. Then, I’ll rate higher.

I honestly expected something this time.

Eyecandy is very bad. There is a background layer, and a tiny bit in the foreground, but it only looks ugly. Layer 8 isn’t too attractive either, and in layer 4, well, the tileset is very limiting.
Gameplay is not my cup of tea, either. The enemy placement is poor; the level is too easy, and there is little ammo. The food placement is decent, though.
The level is short, too. Short for a single level, that is. If this were in a pack, the size just might be acceptable, but not here. Not by itself.
The fun factor is average, I must say. I had more fun playing this than some others. Maybe worth a replay. Probably not.
Sorry, you may call me an evil biased reviewer who rates too low, but as Trafton said, back in the day when frankferters only cost a nickel when there were no amazing level makers like FS, EvilMike, etc. (well, they were still around, but not as amazing), this might’ve been a solid 8.5. Think of Carrot Cream. I used to think that was the most amazing level, but now, when I played it recently, I said to myself, “THIS is amazing!? No, way. It sucks,” or something of the sort. So, don’t get mad that I’m a low rater. EvilMike is lower ;p

Some of this tileset is decent. Most of it is rather bad.
The masking sucks, and the textured background doesn’t work properly. The good thing is that most tiles go together. The bad thing is that most of it is just rather ugly. There isn’t much eyecandy, either; it’d be impossible to make a really nice looking level with this set, especially with the textured background not working and the background not looking good when it’s just tiled normally. As for the rest of the stuff, I don’t see poles, vines, hooks, belts, etc. All I see are spikes and blocks.

I’m not in the mood to write a long review.

Download reccomendation: Not really, no.
Build with this: I wouldn’t. It’s TSF, anyway.

Okay, let’s start with the layout first. I don’t like the layout all that much. At first, you get lost occasionally. As you get to know the level better, you still occasionally get a bit confused as to where things are, but it’s okay, for the most part.
The gameplay is fine. Balanced, no biasing etc.
There isn’t much flow, though. Not really any flow at all.
I like the ammo placement just fine. Maybe a little bit too much, but it’s good. Too many RF’s, if anything. There aren’t many powerups, either.
The eyecandy isn’t much… and gets annoying after a while. All the waterfalls and whatnot. But, it’s acceptable. What I’m wondering is, how did you get your name in the tileset?
Overall, good level.
Download reccomendation – Sure.

Is there a POINT to this?
No hotels are allowed on J2O. That is a new rule (I think). I’ve heard rumors about this, but I’m not sure if they’re true. I hope to God they are, because when you see a good concept abused like this… it’s not fun anymore.
Eyecandy – Bad / very bad
It doesn’t get much worse than this. No textured background, no sprite layer eyecandy, etc. The only good thing is that SOME of the tiles fit together.
Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but I didn’t find a store. How do you have a hotel without a store, especially if there are coins? And why don’t you host this hotel so people can come and play in it, rather than them emailing you and saying “OMG CAN I HAVE A ROOM LOLOLOL ROFL :D < 3 @ HOTELS LOL :),” and you uploading another copy of this level that is updated (I noticed you notice you forgot to upload the tileset, so you simply say, “Oops,” and you don’t reupload; that tells us you aren’t aware of the reupload function).
The rest of the hotel’s layout is just plain bad. There are some games… that are boring. But a game is a game. Then again, Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is a game, and this makes a fun game boring. Or something.
Overall…

Nooo, my reservation review was deleted >(

Eyecandy – Okay / good
What the part of the tileset the author uses offers is there, basically. But, this still isn’t much. The cave walls, especially underwater, look very plain. The sprite layer eyecandy isn’t much. Just the ground, which is platforms. The background looks nice, however.

Gameplay – Very good
Nothing wrong with the gameplay here. The level seems fairly balanced to me, all though I can’t tell for sure since FS makes the teams unbalanced with his amazing CTF skills no matter what. You can only get 15 seconds from the shield because you are forced to use a physical attack on it, and since it’s a fire shield, you can’t use it underwater. The side that doesn’t have the shield close to base has a +1 carrot, and a seeker powerup that is slightly closer to them. However, it’s very difficult to get the powerup. Half of the level takes place underwater, which can be slow moving at times, but can also be really fun. There is little to no biasing here; if anything, it’s Jazz biased because of the vine at the top – Jazz can get accross that faster by helicoptering. Spaz can get around, too, by jumping, but not as easilly.

Flow – Very good
Good flow here. You don’t have to jump all that often, which is definetely okay. Some people dislike levels where you have to jump a lot, in particular, Defost. This level’s flow, and tendency for you not to have to jump is somewhere in the middle. Which makes the best flow possible, in most cases.

Ammo placement – Good / very good
Very original ammo placement. There’s a shield, like I mentioned earlier, and the seeker powerups closer to the base that doesn’t get the shield (and a carrot close to that base as well). There is a toaster powerup in the middle surrounded by several fast fires. I like how the pepper sprays on the right side of the level are placed. It must’ve taken a while to test them so they could be placed in such a precise path.

Layout – Very good
I enjoy… you don’t get lost often, and the level is easy to learn.

Size – Good / very good
Medium / large level. Not too small, not too big. Maybe a tiny bit too small.

I’ll leave the giant reviews to the other people who only tend to review really good levels like this, which is why I’m ending this review now.

I can’t really see how this would make a good race, but it’d make a good test. No race should be any harder than Foo Races, which are on the borderline. Bad eyecandy… not much fun to me because I don’t like tests. Frusturating… I never got past 20, which is when I got really bored.

Average level. Eyecandy is very scarce, and the background is only visible when you’re really low. Same with the foreground, which, IMO, moves too fast.
The gameplay is average. By rule of thumb, I’m going to take off points for the inconvinience of Jazz and Lori not being able to play here. Lots of springs would fix this.
Flow… well, there’s no flow here. Having little flow isn’t all ways bad, but having a good flow is usually good.
Ammo placement isn’t bad at all, really. Plenty of ammo… pretty good ammo placement. There is one powerup on either side of the level: seekers on the right, and blasters on the left. The two most deadly weapons, I suppose.
Download reccomendation: If you want. This is nothing really special that you’ll be missing out on, though.
Host this often: Nope. If I’m really bored, I might think about it, but there’s really not much chance I will, especially because it’s TSF.

Good levels, Bjarni =D The gameplay is a bit dull, but the backgrounds look very good. The ammo placement is original, too. Not neccasarilly something I’d ever host, but these are pretty nice. If you want a higher score, don’t make the level so linear. These levels take place on a lot of flat ground. Put platforms and stuff.
No download reccomendation.

Bjarni, you put too much eyecandy in Layer 4. Don’t put so much stuff, because it looks crowded. The backgrounds are nice.[This review has been edited by labratkid]

Eyecandy – Okay / good
Not much here. Not the normal CelL quality you’d expect. The ground looks nice. While Blade wanted us to us simple ground blocks, CelL used complex combinations of different blocks, much like you would use in Death Metal, etc. The background is a nice, scrolling, starry background, telling us it’s on a spaceship, which is why it’s not all that good. There are some little generator like things that move up and down which looks cool. There are also some other little bits and peices around, like pipes.
Gameplay – Good / very good
While the gameplay is fun and interesting, the flow isn’t all that good. But, levels with good flow only make them easier, after all. “Floating Town,” has so much focused into the flow, you rarely need to jump. Other levels, like, “BloodBunny’s Lair,” require you to jump more, thus making them more Spaz biased then others. The flow here is okay. Not much is focused on flow, in other words. It’s done in a way where you still don’t have to jump enough to make it Spaz biased. After all, CelL uses Jazz.
Ammo placement – Very good
The sexiest and best ammo placement since Distopia. Unique, nicely placed, and balanced. It’d be nice if there were bouncers, though. The ammo placement reminds me of in, “Security Breach,” by BlurredD. There are also coins that you need to get into the bases. CelL says they are for, “Another level of annoyence.” He spelled annoyance wrong, OMB!
Overall: Good / very good
Good overall level. A bit small… about the size of, “Bleached Diamondus.” It can be too small in some cases, and just right in others. Not the type of thing you’d host in JDC because it can’t handle too many people. More than 8 people in the server would probably be way too much. Ideal for duels and 2v2’s. The coin system may make duels a little frusturating, but it gives you all the more reason to base camp not die when you have the flag.
Download: Yes.

PS: The background reminds me of, “You Can’t Scream in Outer Space.”[This review has been edited by labratkid]

That was uncalled for, DX. Bjarni doesn’t understand what it’s for. Bjarni, it’s for creating tilesets and making special colors in them. In the Swamps tileset, green colors turn out to be brown. That’s what it’s for; doing that stuff.[This review has been edited by labratkid]
