A lovely battle map with pleasant eyecandy. The level features traps which instantly kills the player nearby, this is to avoid camping on crucial spots. Though the flow is a bit bumpy sometimes, however this can be adjusted to. The level features some custom weapons which work well for the layout. Download recommended!
Personally I really like this map and think it should have gotten more recognition.
Great use of a small layout with pretty quirky gameplay.
Uses semi-symmetry in a way that everyone can enjoy!
Great amount of ammo for the level too, although I’ve never liked gun9-ing powerups.
This is one of my favorite duel levels. I find that thanks to very low carrot spawn times it enforces uniquely fast pacing. A nice degree of ammo control can be achieved but is not impossible to overcome. And the layout provides interesting fight environments while remaining fit for the theme.
Definitely one of the best levels using Tubeelec tileset, tunnel Background is cool, combined with the other eyecandy. Fireworks fits the layout pretty well (combined with the level theme) Layout is good. Fun level overall, download recommended.
Despite its small size and relative simplicity, this is a solid CTF level with franatic yet tactical gameplay. The top part is fairly campy, but also quite open which leaves players open to long range Fireball shots. The real star of the show here is the theme and the eyecandy; FS masterfully uses the PK2 tileset to create a convincing environment.
It doesn’t matter what FireSworD spits out, it’s always a magical moment for me. He makes everything I look for in a map and never dissapoints me, he always goes out for making a good and functional level. The scripting is also fab but that’s a shout out to the coders. Sorry for the shortness, Maybe a more indeep review later.
10/10 HYPE
I played this level and the eyecandy looks perfect! By the way, the Warp Horizon Texture BG is better than Spiral Texture BG.
bad level, way too symmetrical; awful gameplay, the routes seam trippy even though there is little to trip on.
The new custom weapon is really nice, and really goes well with the level’s layout. The level’s layout is pretty enjoyable and easy to learn, and offers quite varied gameplay throughout. Also, good call on adding the cobalt version because the original is a bit ‘jarring’ as the description says. Cool look otherwise. Great lev. DL rec!
The eyecandy and layer work is probably the best part, but it seems to have nice gameplay as well.
Overall a good map for events with lots of people. I like the custom weapon and the level generally looks cool, although I like the cobalt version better because I dont like the way the dark purple radios look in front of the light blue background .
While the EC tends to look slightly contrived in places, most likely as a result of FS’ desire to use every tile in the set, it has a solid overall look and a strong atmosphere that lives up to the theme of the tileset. Gameplaywise it’s perhaps not as tight as ARF but is nonetheless well made and suitable for games of up to 16 players.
Fun large and aesthetically pleasing map. My biggest complaint is that due to its size and similar looking decor throughout the map, I find it nearly impossible to memorize where all the carrots and powerups are placed despite repeated play. The chestnut ammo or whatever it is could also play a bigger role. Still great even though I’m hopeless here
A nice map! Looks like a real landscape! The layout is so realistic- nearly no vertical or horisontal lines and right angles. (I don’t count those vertical columns, as they look like rock pillars) And the clouds don’t rush at a full speed like in some levels, they move just like they do in a real life.
Fantastic battle level by FS, flow is great and eyecandy is superb.
One of the most coolest things about this level is obviously the thorn weapon which fits the theme pretty well, and its interaction with the copter is pretty cool too :)
Layout overall is unique. In addition, Twin Stalactites feels like a mini version of this.
Carrot placement is decent and I didn’t find them campy at all.
Personally I’d place the fastfire right next to blaster PU, but its not really that important
In short, fun and unique level, download recommended.
Let’s face it, how often do we all still play the game? Most of us outgrew it to an extent. Doesn’t mean I will stop JCS’ing, but it means my levels will be a rarity.
Anyway, it’s a very nice level. I liked playing it during the JDC event. Loved the mines, even if they are a bit impractical.
Gameplay-wise, the biggest flaw is probably that some of the carrots can be camped, at least in standard battle. In Team Battle, especially between clans, in theory these campers should be flushed out easily.
The eyecandy is lovely. However, it is a bit confusing for the first few moments that the spikes and thorns don’t hurt at all.
Judging this level from a competitive point of view, it is a solid level that offers a fresh new layout.
Update: The latest version fixes the major gameplay flaws so I’m updating my rating appropriately as well. Good job FireSworD!
Probably one of the best levels I’ve seen in a long time. Feels extremely crisp and pretty unique in layout. I love the bottom left especially (as well as the rest of the level).
I’ll throw in a rating already because lately all good submissions passed totally unnoticed.
I hope my rating will help your level get more popular faster.
It isn’t really in the style of professional battle levels, but I like different styles.
Download totally recommended!
