Heh, I like the eye candy here, Diamondus wasn’t used bad (though it is still WAY too common), the navigation could have been easily improved. The weapons were placed exactly great IMO and you could have improved some little layout spots.
Overall surely worth your download. Download already. :-)
Alas, a very small and simple battle level.
VERY boring eye candy. You could have easily used the tileset better. The layout is decent, just a tad too small for my tastes. The powerups could have been placed better and the thing barely uses any events at ALL.
I dunno about the music, sorta annoying. :-)
Conclusion: No d/l recommendation from me, sorry. :-)
Average level. I like the eye candy but the layout seems pretty basic and HURT EVENTS DON’T WORK IN MP. I really don’t like that tree in the center, it takes away from the gameplay considering the whole level seems based around that tree. Hmm.
A pretty average level that you MIGHT want to get.
Not a bad SP level, it used the tileset actually quite nicely, it’s based off of an old “unfinished” (so to speak) official map. The thing has sort of a simple layout though, and the eye candy could have been improved. And take OUT that secret level. :-)
Download or not? Yeah. :-)
(btw, the music you chose doesn’t fit well IMO.)
Nothing much to add to Aiko’s review. I like the flat idea but it sorta dulls the design, you should also use @‘s on the text strings, makes thing MUCH easier to read. :-) The forest level is sort of confusing too IMO…
Download or not? Of course. :-)
Not a bad level actually. I like the design, even though the eye candy could have been improved A LOT. The weapon selection was just fine. I think you overdid the layer 3 though… The music selection could also have been improved.
Download or not? Yeah. :-)
Um, can’t you just EDIT your review?
Anyway, I can’t say much for this level itself, it has almost NO eye candy except for a few variating blocks. The design is small, and the weapons could have been placed better.
Overall no d/l recommendation from me. Sorry.
Nothing much to add to Aiko’s review. I liked the layout and the eye candy was good. Using the freezy things is something you should be careful with, it really annoyed me…
The music was OK but like Aiko said, freeze.j2b would have worked better.
Download or not? Sure. :-)
Whoa, just whoa.
A simply amazing single player episode, it was simply amazing, had lots of creative puzzles, was very long and HARD, I had lots of fun (didn’t actually beat it though. :-) I just LOVE some of the puzzles and challenges here, I was actually tempted to give a drumroll 10… It failed to get a 10 for a few minor problems, them being the fact it sort of frustrates you towards the end, and I got many memory errors…
But that aint much, this won’t stop me from saying ANYONE who’s in their right mind should get this RIGHT NOW! :-)
Whoa, excellence.
(btw, I’m late on reviewing this I know, but Aiko told me to. :-)
An amazing single player episode with creativity, great design and eye candy, and cool music choices. Uses a variety and great tilesets and I must say I just love this. Btw, my only REAL complaint is the fact that all of the text strings were written in CAPS, very annoying.
Conclusion: a pack NO ONE should miss out on. GET NOW! :-)
I agree with Aiko. This is a copied idea from stripe’s original “Another Story” I can’t say much for this level, other than the fact that it is actually quite ugly. The layer 8 is bad and there is 0 eye candy. The music choice was OK (It comes with MODPlug Player/Tracker), and the whole thing was very confusing. KJAZZ, as Aiko said, SPEND MORE TIME ON YOUR LEVELS! Look at other highly rated levels and take examples from them. What a lengthy review.
Conclusion: NO D/l recommendation from me. Not even worth J2O diskspace.
iCeD out.
Whee, I remember this. :-)
Uses the simple tileset by FQuist. I must say I like the 3d effect here, made a good effort to use the tileset nicely. The weapon placement was balanced, not too much, not too little. The eye candy could have been improved, but you get away with that because of the simplicity of the set…
The music choice was ok, could have fit much better though.
Conclusion: check this out. Now. :-)
A decent level by NewSpaz. Uses the Mez02 tileset… hmm, it seems rather familiar, oh yeah, you hosted this a while ago. I remember now. :-)
The eye candy here is sorta basic, doncha think? However Mez02 IS the hardest of the Mez sets IMO.. I honestly felt this fit battle better, but that’s just me. You should also improve the navigation, needs more springs.
All and all this gets a d/l recommendation from me, sooo, get downloading. :-)
Post it on your site (if you have one) or something like that.
Augh, ANOTHER theme based level. Ok, so there haven’t been many of these, but I must say I dislike them.
This is a pretty below average level. Uses the Dragon Ball Z tileset (I am NOT a fan of anime. :-P) and has pretty basic, linear layout/design. Has HURT events which is bad because they don’t work in MP (they only hurt the server), not to mention the fact that this is basically eye candyless.
Chi Chi DZ, try looking at other levels that got a high rating from me (or anyone else), you will learn the art of level making eventually.
Conclusion: No d/l recommendation. Sorry. :-)
Not a bad level here.
I must admit Laguna’s levels keep getting better as he makes more, so I can expect more good levels from him soon enough. :-)
I really like the eye candy here, as it was used well. However if you look towards the cave parts near the bottom you’ll notice mostly repetitive tiling. Bad idea.
The design is great, fluent and very worth playing.
Weapon placement could have been improved, as there were just a little too many powerups scattered around.
Overall DEFINITELY worth a download, thus I order you to get this now! :-)
This level gets an exceptional 3 from me, for outstandingly bad use of an easy tileset, small size, bad eye candy, basic design..
No d/l reccomendation from me. Blah, this is a bad review, sorry. :-)
Not bad, not bad at all.
The tileset looks cool, I like only real problems are the fact that the thing could have used more variety, and you should be careful with 8-bit users (like me. :-), the example level has a spiffy layout, but the lack of variety in the tileset sort of dulls it…
Overall definitely worth a tileset fans download. :-)
An actually quite decent level by JelZe. Though I felt the path was a little too strict even for battle, but I’ll try to look past that…
The way you used the set was good, I like the bg. The layout, despite it’s “strictness” isn’t half bad, and the music fit well, despite the fact it kinda feels “used too much” after I used it in my level. The weapon placement was sorta weird, and it needed a few more to keep the player running with as many guns as possible…
Conclusion: Check this out if yer a battle fan. :-)
