Aiko and FoD’s reviews sum it up well.
Level 1: Bad background and poorly placed powerup. It’s also hard to know when the rocks fall down…
Level 2: You used the labrat set all wrong here, look to the official levels for good tips about how to use this set.
Level 3: I never completed this one, it was too confusing near the end… the whole thing was pretty basic, so overall I can’t say much for this one.
Conclusion: It’s simply too ugly, easy and short for me to give a d/l recommendation.
Pretty average level here. Uses the, you guessed it, Diamondus tileset. The layout is decent, but this highly lacks eye candy. Also there are way too many weapons.
Conclusion: Download if you want, it’s your choice.
(Like Aiko noted, there is no next level. ALWAYS remember to set one.)
Hmm, not a half bad level here.
I like the eye candy despite the fact it’s just like any Diamondus level (the Diamondus set is soo boring.)
The way the springs were used enabled you to get higher quickly and I liked that idea. Now onto the problems…
The playability isn’t really fluent (a few dead ends and such), you should make the design a lot more circular. Also, as Pizzie noted, there were too many weapons.
Conclusion (I like putting that at the end of my reviews. ;): Check this out for a pretty good battle level. :)
Ah yes, another great level/Tileset by Blade. The level looks awesome, the music to it fits well, and best of all, the tileset. I just love it.
Conclusion: No jazzer’s life is complete without this. :-)
Pretty OK level, at least it’s much better than your other ones. Even though it’s way too easy and lacks eye candy. Also as Aiko said, it was way too short and easy.
Conclusion? Still no d/l recomendation. Sorry. But you are getting better.
A decent (though not great) level by Disguise. I feel the edit of the tileset didn’t fit (made the level unplayable as Aiko noted.) The layering was sorta awkward, and a few other minor bugs.
CONCLUSION: Eh, I dunno. You decide rather to download or not.
Btw, love the music, even though I used this waaay back on a level I released on UJ. ;-)
First and most importantly, never put something like that in a level. And also you should spend more than 4 hours on a level, almost any good level takes 10+ hours. The layout to this level is quite simple, the layering seems very bad, and this whole level seems just… yucky. No download recommendation here. Sorry.
A pretty confusing, tile misplaced level with music that doesn’t fit at all. KJAZZ, spend more time on your levels, take suggestions from reviews, look at highly rated levels, etc. Can all help.
Very nice level by Cmdr Dats. Uses the cool (litterally) inferno set, and mind you, Dats uses it well. :-)
The design is fluent, needed a few more weapons as always. I like the eye candy and pretty much everything else.
Get this now! :-)
I agree with Aiko here, this level is quite hotel like, and I strongly dislike the Simpsons. The event placement and pretty much everything is thumbs-down here, sorry, no download recomendation from me.
I’m with Aiko here, if you think this is bad, don’t post it.
Um, anyways, the author is right. This doesn’t rank very high on my list of levels, it is confusing, has bad eye candy, tons of tile misplacements. note I didn’t actually finish this level.
KJAZZ, I suggest you look to other levels that have gotten good reviews for suggestions and tips about how to do level making. iCeD out.
Pretty average level here. Has simple design, simple eye candy, and weapon placement that could have been improved. The music sounds cool but doesn’t fit well. :-)
CONCLUSION: Download if you’re bored and like simple battles level that could be fun.
I aint gonna rate this, but I’ll tell ya, it has good design, but eye candy needed improvement. Also was way too short. Conclusion: Good but needed improvements. If I weren’t a WWI member myself, I’d rate this. :-P
Very nice battle level. The Tubelectric set was actually used pretty well.. I like the fact that the design is nice and fluent, and I like some of the ideas here. I myself never got stuck, but when I look at it, it looks pretty possible. Also, I was able to get the locked seekers with unpowered up bouncies. ;-)
Only true problem with this is it just needs more (remember the J2C times when Steven said that? :-)
Pretty average level. Uses the Beach set actually quite nicely. Has a weird name, but I don’t grade upon names. Just like in ALL of Dats’s levels, weapon placement is scarce. The eye candy is OK but I think the Beach set could have been used better.
Download or not? Your choice. :-)
GROOVY! I love the eye candy in this, and the design was great. It uses a lot of eye candy tricks, but the Diamondus set can still be pushed further. :-)
Only problem was it was a tad short and it needed more weapons.
Oh well, to all SP fans: GET THIS NOW! :-)
High 8 points.. almost 9.
See that 9 that this gets as a review? Yup, this is one of the better ratings I’ve given in a while.
Might I say I love the tilesets, not to mention levels and music files. The levels only problem being the fact that the design in them is all the same style so there isn’t too much variety. One tileset bug is the fact that the textured bg on one of them (I forgot which) looks sorta odd on 8-bit. (it has an effect similiar to the textured bg on Colonius night.)
Conclusion: Get this now or you will be banned from J2O. ;-P
Another very nice level by Disguise. Unlike most vertical levels, I had no problems navigating with Jazz. The eye candy is great and I don’t have a big list of problems. I DO, however have a small one. :-)
The dead ends in some places got annoying. Remember to keep your design fluent.
Aside of that, a very nice level. All CTF fans should download NOW! :-)
“The Castle” includes a good (though) not great battle level using the castle set. It’s just a tad small, though.
However I must complement you on good navigation without springs. There WAS a Spaz biased area, some score taken away from that.
Eye candy was OK. Could have been improved (bg very cluttered.)
Overall it gets a d/l recommendation from me, not a high one, but one nonetheless. :-)
Exceptional tileset by Disguise.
Has a 3D look and nice ways to use it, all shown in the cool example levels. The music used fits well into the levels and to put it into two words: DOWNLOAD NOW. :-)
