The eyecandy and tileset use here is great. It looks just fine. Indeed, it is the design and gameplay that lowers this rating.

The first level is arranged in a bunch of different areas, linked together. Like Battle1/2. None of them are all that good, and the weapon placement needs work.
The second level is a big icey place. About half of it seems to be a cave system, and I think this level has the best ammo placement. And there’s a generic platform area.
In level three, we are treated to an eye murdering place which resembles Candion. Annoyingly, blocks appear and disappear all over. There is an airboard area, like in Treasure Hunt B.
Level four is a spaceship with iffy design. It’s a little hard to navigate, you see.

I’m off to download the episode.. which will hopefully be better. Nice work with the magnet, by the way.

Why do I have the feeling that “acid burn” is the same as “AcId”?

Anyway, pros and cons..

Cons:
The filenames are so general, it’s easy to have ones with the same name. I had 2. Make them something like AcIdC1, AcIdC2 etc.
…everything else?

Pros:
These do have their good moments, however. And it does take some effort to use so many tilesets. (Though I see he avoided Psych… hmmmmm.)
And there are a few good ideas, like having the turtle boss (“Dirven”) have a CTF base as his time machine.

Oooooooh, the warp at the start! As if we haven’t seen that a hundred times…
Anyway, this is a symetrical level in which it’s pretty easy to get to the bases. I really don’t know what else to say.

Bah. This isn’t really very good.
The sky works, which is good. But the basic tiles don’t look too good. They’re ok, I guess.
There are some nice tiles, like a screwdriver, so I guess this gets an ok rating.
But the tiles-they have no recognizable sense of order! It looks like they’re just plopped everywhere with no rhyme or reason.

It’s rather confusing. And when you turn on low detail so you can see, you notice the level isn’t so good as it may have seemed.
This just needs work in general.

What Flawless said… WHY ARE YOU ALL RATING THE MUSIC AND EXAMPLE LEVEL?!? THEY ARE NOT TO BE RATED. THIS IS A TILESET UPLOAD.

Other various complaints:
Sand: I’ll try to fix up the sand.. maybe even add a few ramps. Not sure if I’ll be able to though.
Ramp blocks: Bah, I forgot to make them look good, didn’t I. Right, I’ll work on some better looking ramp thingies..
Flame: Bah. I put a little work into making the flames look unusual, and people don’t like it. I guess I’ll have to put it back to the original then…..
Cave background: I will try to improve it, but it may just look worse.
Signs: Maybe the kind of disheveled looking signs are unclear, especially the Lori one (I have no idea why it turned out that way), but the natural ones are easy enough to view.
Ice Block: They’re the standard toaster destruct scenery.. just thought I’d let you know. Just look at Inferno, for example.
Lava: Bah. I think it looks just lavalike.
Flags: Anyone who’s flag isn’t there, just send me an image of it, and I shall add it in flag and balloon versions. :P

Well, I understand this, but it’s pretty pointless…..

Basically, this is three (or four? I don’t remember) showing various CTF strategies, which are kind of… simple. And I doubt the tank one would be possible. So many players needed! :P

Anyway, the idea is good, but it certainly could use work. I’ll rate this if other people do, but I don’t really think it should be rated.

Yes, I more agree with Red here. I’m not really sure how to describe the level, but “small” will have to do.

Did you try to install it into an already existing folder, Spotty? And what was the exact error?
Edit: Hmmmm. I don’t think I know what to do, except if you have any clickteam products running at the time, close them before you install. And that’s probably not the problem.
Edit again: Everyone with the problem, try Super Saiyan’s solution. It could work.

Low quality background:
Look, I TRIED every single possible way I could think of to get more colors into the game, but all it did was make every single one of the images look terrible. As it is, I’m stuck with Windows colors (or so it claims) You just can not get perfect looking textured backgrounds and stuff.

“Crosshair”:
The Target moves faster then Jazz, who moves faster then the Missile. How much more speed do you want?

Ranking:
It is totally impossible using Klik and Play for a user to enter ANY surviving data. That is not a high scores, but a ranking system. Do you even know what a ranking system is?

Bores easily:
Well, I find it addictive myself, but then I’m trying to get higher and higher scores. None of you posted your highest score, meanies. :(

Taz: Press F1. You know, the HELP key.

This level totally crashed my computer, everything stopped working. I couldn’t get it to restart, so I had to turn it off and then back on. I’m too afraid to try again, and I haven’t seen much of the level, so I can’t really rate it.

But I can say what I did see is bad.

No, it’s not. But I decided to review it anyway. In exchange for two waffles. With syrup.

Anyway, the background eyecandy’s fine, but layer 4 isn’t. Too many repeating blocks, bad design. The layout’s ok, but the design isn’t, if that makes sense.

And there’s an end area in the level! It’s a battle level! And I could scream about the Ice stuff….

If you like levels with repeating blocks, tiny one tile passageways and lots of shields, this is for you. Not for me.

Boring, old, keep it in line review….

BASIC BLOCKS/MASKING:
They’re almost all there. A few missing, but mostly there. The masking is good, except in a few places where it suffers.
1.7/2
LOW DETAIL LAYERS:
Originality rules here, but there could be a little more.
1.5/2
EYECANDY:
Everything looks great, except the shrubbery stuff, which could have used more work.
1.9(2)/2
ANIMATIONS/VARIETY TILES:
Great work here. And kind of original. But the spike animation in the cave doesn’t work.
1.5/2
STANDARD TILES:
No H-poles, Hooks, Arrows (except the ones in the cave which only point up), Sucker Tubes (though I guess they wouldn’t fit in, so this doesn’t matter) and the only spikes are on the floor.
1/2

OVERALL:
Great tileset here, though it could use a little work.

EXTRA STUFF:
Nice rank, Aiko. I want one. :P
Disguise, never rate a tileset by the music used in the example level!
Taz, don’t lower your rating because of the Example Level’s length.
Person below this rating that I forgot the name of, don’t rate the Example Level.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]

Nice. It has all the basic tiles, a lot of cool animations (gotta love the thing where a carrot gets planted, watered and picked) and other things. There’s this cool castle thing, nice spikes and receding platforms, etc. Very complete.

Only trouble is the artwork, which needs work.

Gah! Enough with the sucker tubes! We want to be able to move for ourselves!

Also, instead of all that red brick background, grey bricks would be more sensible. It would actually go with the floor.

And you need to work on ammo/powerup placement.

But other then that, you’re certainly getting better.

To tell the truth, this really isn’t very amazing..

Clarification edit: This pack consists of a series of very short levels, several of which are pure cut scenes, and the rest would be if the author(s) could have gotten Jazz to move without your controlling him.
The story is basically as follows: You live in a tree house, but part of your porch has fallen off, so you leave town to find wood to repair it. You accidentally fall into Devan’s secret base (many secret base levels seem to use Jungle), get recruited into Devan’s army, and sent off to a Carrotus planet, where you meet a tribe of Evas. You decide Devan’s bad, and leave to wreck his plans, learning on the way the Evas got killed. You explore the spaceship a bit (this could actually be a good level if it was longer, but the author seemed to think that would ruin the feel), and blow it up in what is probably the original explosion level. You then rocket down to Jazz 2 City, which is when the pack starts. (It’s all your telling a story)
The spaceship level and the jungle level are kind of fun to play, but the rest is a bit boring (sure, the spaceship idea was cool Then, but it’s been used so many times now..), and that prevents this from getting higher then a 6.2. If you want to see how Spaceship/Explosion levels got started, download this, otherwise you should probably invest your time in something else.[This review has been edited by Violet CLM]

Odd. I expected a tileset that was more related to the computer game Marble Drop. (Vera fun)
Anyway, this is a mix between Newspaz’s Meza (Which is a mix between Mez01 and most any 3D tileset) and Mario.
It also has a night version where all of the tiles are lighter then in the day version. OOPS. :P

The trouble is that while beginners can easily make decent levels with this, it may well take an expert to make a very good level. Also, I don’t forsee this being used in single player, as there aren’t enough tiles to make a big solid structure. (A second version?)
Also, the masking is bad.

People should download this, and maybe make levels with this. Even if you don’t make levels, download this for the gumball machine. :P

(Out of curiosity, did you use any colors other then the sprite colors?)
