Nice. Maybe you should use some gems in the ground for eyecandy. Check the last row in the tileset.

Well, as eagle told me, this is the best level of ELC uploaded on J2O so far.

I will start with music. Overused, not sure why did you choose this, but I really like it. Fits a bit with the level. Really good.

Eyecandy is well done. I like how you used black tile as I used in my Old Jungle and Magic Dust. Everyone told me it’s original. Maybe you found it good and made a level with that, too. If so, thanks :). Maybe those mountains in bg or however to call them are placed down too much, but I like it. Some good combination of tiles what I like. On the top I like that wall what block you to go up. The whole level has good eyecandy.

Gameplay is great. Can’t remember last time when I was playing a battle level, better gameplay. Some power ups. Skele didn’t use to force this level with big PUs like seeks and RFs. Warps-useless. The only thing what I don’t like in gameplay is that it is too spaz biased. Needs more springs. That’s all.

Tilebugs: everywhere. Just be on 20,34 and look around yourself. You will see them everywhere! Starting with layer 3, to the other tilebugs, there is a big number of them. This tileset is not very hard to use as eagle said. It’s very easy, imo.
7,20 – I don’t get why there is a lava waterup or how to call it. Lava is going up. You should make animation a bit different.
75,27 – maybe not a tilebug but I don’t get why there is a shaking spring.
50,14 – another one shaking spring.

But as you all know, I am not going to make the rate lower because of some tilebugs. I do it ONLY if the level has a big number of them, like Tropical Wonders. This has about 20 tilebugs, all on the same place and I a not going to make the rate lower. Maybe it is overrated by the other members of ELC, but I will give 7.5. Again, overrated by eagle and ron (probably by panther, too) but I am not going to balance the rate. You really should download this when/if the author fixes the bugs.

EvilMike’s Not-So Evil Fortress, as the name says, is fortress with 2 towers. Good, decent, and pretty tactical battle level with a big surprise on the top of the level. I won’t tell what it is, download level and see, but I really like it. You did a great job when you made this.

I like placement of Power UP’s and carrots. Maybe you should not put Water Shield, because it is usually disabled in MP games, but that’s your opinion, you liked it and because of that you added it. Anyone can has a big advantage if (s)he get the shield. Even the worst player can beat you here. That’s very good, and it gives a chance for win to everyone. Also I recommend you to make more battle levels, because this one is very good, with a lot of tricks. Sucker tube is smart-placed there where it is, and in a lot of cases in battle games, very very useful.

Eyecandy is something what is the best in this level. Very good usage of every tile. Maybe you should use translucent tiles somewhere, and captio tile if you wanted to decorate the JJ2 window, but that’s not important now.

Suggestion: you should try to fix that tilebug on the top of the level with layer 3. Position 35,45. I am not 100% sure if that is a tilebug, but it looks very bad. You are able to see your character’s foot =( .

This level will never be annoying. If battle games are as popular as CTF games are, this would have the same “rate” as EotM has in CTF.

Well I want to review this level. A new clan for level makers is here. Great job for making it. You made some levels together, and this is 3rd I think.
This is a small level, probably made for duels ( I don’t think someone can 2v2 here :P ).

I don’t like this music, it doesn’t fit with theme of level. Music is like intro for some indian movie. Like Aladin :). On the start it’s like WATHC OUT, TRAIN IS COMMING! And it ends very bad. When you think now is going to be a good song, BOOM it finishes.

Other thing, you put too much ammo in this level. On every platform you can get ammo what is really bad. You used 4 Power Ups, what fits with this level (If you see there are 2 PUs what makes 1 damage), but again there are a lot of other ammo in this level… Also on 1 platform you can get 100 ammo… Isn’t it too much (I mean 2 power ups one next to the other)? That’s the only one thing what I hate on Snooze’s Minimal Duel, he added that on 2 places. Also there are a lot of seeks. You can never be without ammo.

Gameplay is not the best imo. You suddenly can go through wall when you think “now I’m in a trap”. Down there is bouncer PU. Very, very bad choice to place it there! I think there are too much platforms, and everytime you get a full-speed, you crush into a wall, the same as in Diamondus Warzone. I found 1 tilebug: 68,19, problem with layer 3. That warp where is bouncer has two warp targets what is not good. If you’re hunting an enemy, you can warp to the other warp target, and he can warp to fullNRG and get it.

Eyecandy is good. Not the best what you can do with this tileset but it’s okay. You used buildings, what is okay, but I don’t think they are visible. That black tile is very dark so they’re not visible that much. If you stand on 43,11 and 17,12 you will see some copy-pasted “buildings”. I don’t like to have in background masked tiles, like here, and on red base. I wonder why you used only “wood and blocks” tiles of this tileset. You should use some waterfalls or that snow to improve eyecandy.

2 Carrots for level like this are too much! +1 is near red base, and full NRG is, well in the middle. I don’t like how slow you can get full NRG from red base, and how fast from blue base. You can shoot full NRG and make it next to blue base. Isn’t it a BIG advantage for a blue team?

I must include tilebugs what are in background in rate. There are too much tilebugs for someone like you. Don’t be angry on me please. I hope you will fix this, send me PM (by pressing on “major edit” or something like that) and I will change my rate. ;)

well level is big, very good for big games like 3v3/4v4s, designed with not the best tileset, but eyecandy is good. Also tubes, carrots and PUs are good placed. download recommended.

wait a bit.. I need to play Halfquake and HalfJazz amen, (even if I don’t know what they are.. games/tilesets etc. and even if I perhaps don’t have them) and then I must rate? Isn’t it easier to check out posibilities with this tileset in JCS (and I see on preview that there aren’t too much, so just I will rate preview) without playing Halfquake and HalfJazz amen? Heh. Let’s start reviewing this.

You can’t use this tileset if you wanna make some better level. You can use this only in tests.. and nowhere other if I am right. You have 3 types of background (one is even animated with too much tiles… I am not sure if you can make them all in JCS :P ) and between 3 types of background,, you have NO connection. Well, they don’t need to have connection, but they are really out of theme… if there is a theme in this tile set. I am not sure if anyone will use this useless tileset without possibilities to make something better.

Well, after this, I wanna say, you can’t play normal matches in that level on screenshoots because of palettes.. there is not normal JJ2 palette. Use JPS to make them. And try to make tile set with more colors than 10 (or 15 in this tileset).

Then, I am not sure (sorry if I am wrong), but, I don’t think you made that letters yourself. Probably you pirated them from that game, or from some other image/game. Try to make tiles on your own. Don’t think, if you pirate some tiles from other games and if you find some nice screen shots, that JJ2 Community will not know about it ;P.

Also, don’t waste your time to check out this tileset, you will not see anything good here (sorry, but it is true :( ). I don’t recommend you guys to download this.

@Feaw: Well ty :) here are still some normal persons :D.

Yeah, level designed for duels. Nice one, but I am not sure, maybe I am wrong, but again, fullNRG can be shooted down I think. Eyecandy is good, and RF climb .. nice idea! Well, I wlil surely pick this level in the tournament (ofc if SJ add that level to mappoll :P).

Yeah ground really looks like tradjap but the whole tileset is very good. It is very usable, and you can make background very good. just put some of those 12 (or some other) tiles in layer 5/6 and make it translucent, so in layer 6/7 make something nice, like in my Old Jungle ;). DR yes. What’s wrong if he used style like in Traditional Japan? Blade used his style in almost all his tile sets and they are all good. What’s wrong with this :) ?

“I added more than 100 new tiles for YOUR levels.”
Are you mad? You added 15 tiles… and it is too much.. less than 15. Better make some conversation of JJ1 tile sets.
