Two of the CTFs were absolutely phenomenal, being Minimal Duel and Antiquity, probably deserving near 10/10 ratings.
The battles, generally all screamed great design, especially Sodan Valtakunta, Firebreather, Frozen Lake and Robot Village.
On the whole I’d say most of this pack is nearly the best type of leveldesign you’d get nowadays. DL PLZ.
The first level, Delta Halo was probably a 10/10, however the other levels were good but just not up to the AMAZING standard of Delta Halo! The CTFs were very well made and this pack is very deserving of its rating. Great job!
I feel like I failed you as a tester, but I’ll tell you here in hopes that you can update it!
In JB2, flag direction to top right jail doesn’t work.
In JB3, no MCE event in bottom right corner.
In JB4, there’s a bug whereby you keep dying if you fall in the pit in the pregame.
In BR2 there’s a bug where every 4th point for blue scores for red instead…
The rest seem perfectly functional though!
Sorry for not spotting this sooner.
Decent DOM, not sure about ever having a CTF-based layout in a DOM, imo DOM should be campy, but it’s aight. =P
Old review: Great layout, great level tbh, but questionable balance in terms of powerups and the campy carrot area stops it from getting any higher than a 9… Good job though. Love the theme. Re-rated due to changes made. Bon appetit. Re-rated once again after having played a match here; it was better than sex.
I tested this too ages ago, and pretty much agree with everything Laro said, some areas need minor reworks, such as the top right in general, and peppermint is pretty unecessary in this level.
The eyecandy didn’t really wow me as such, this set is very versatile; more coulda been done.
The level plays alright though. =)
I do like what you tried to do with the limiting of routes, etc. but perhaps its a tad overdone. There are pseudo-deadends and one-way paths that really don’t need to be as so with important items in them making it pretty campy.
The two carrots are maybe too close, but cool level anyway.
To all who thought it was too easy to obtain seeker powerup in my level; it was.
I apologize but we accidentally uploaded it with spawntime of 3s instead of 30s. Kinda stupid on my part. Sorry again!
Fixed now.
Really professionally done, great level, great gameplay, great eyecandy appeal.
Loon, you can’t bite back at reviews like that… It’s just silly… =P Else I’d probably make a list of complaints about yours on my level. No offense.
Has to be a quick review and my opinion isn’t as worthy since I haven’t properly duelled in TRF yet.
TRF provides fun and original gameplay possibilities and a great style of a level. The other level seems a lot more party based, and while easily criticizable, boasts rather fun and quirky gameplay too. Worth checking out.
I promised a review here, but I can’t guarantee that It’ll be a good one….
The eyecandy is nice in the level, and has a great theme, however I say its heavily drawn back by the limitations of the tileset. Still feels nice nonetheless. What is missing? I think perhaps an emphasis on when you are nearing a pit, though I’m not quite sure how I’d emphasize such a thing with a tileset… Maybe putting some sort of food near the pits and there only, to signify danger? I’m not sure.
The gameplay is great, yet the layout can be confusing as with the placement of perhaps the carrots. I’ve played the map several times and still feel like I may not have learnt it properly, but again I blame the tileset for this for not allowing for as much variation as possibly intended. The level looks different from place to place, but some areas just confused me and reminded me of another part of the level. As for small tricks and gameplay gimmicks, I’d rate this high for the execution. Furthermore, PIT:nice.
This level should and will be played in JDC events and there is a great reason for that. The level is perfect for such an occasion. I still feel like I missed the point and haven’t learnt the level to its fullest. Please download, and play.
Love it, just a bit campy at areas, and seems a bit too much of a big dead end at the bottom corners with the seeker ammo… Otherwise it’s pretty cool =)
Really fun set, and really colourful, which is always great fun. Quite hard to use though. =P
Lut Gholein was by far the most amazing level in this pack. Loved it. No D2 bias I swear.
Very impressed. These levels scream old-school, and I love them both.
Very pretty, and nice eyecandy. The layout isn’t bad, but the ratings led me to expect more from this level.
The level is actually somewhat fun, but some areas are hard to get your head around.
